Win A Trip To Le Mans With Gran Turismo 5: Academy Edition

GT5- Academy 3D Pack Shot

Hello everyone. If you were on the PlayStation Blog during the long hot summer (*wink*), you may have noticed an announcement for the forthcoming GT5 Academy Edition due to be launched 26th September 2012. I am pleased to now bring you more exciting information on this new edition of GT5.

The GT5: Academy Edition has of course been inspired by the extraordinary exploits of the winners of the innovative GT Academy competition that we run in conjunction with our partners at Nissan. Now a few lucky owners of the GT5: Academy Edition will have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of our winners via the exclusive in-game GT Academy Challenge.

Here’s the lowdown on what it’s all about. Purchase GT5: Academy Edition and place in the top six within the GT Academy Challenge in January 2013, then opportunity knocks as you will be invited to Silverstone race circuit in March 2013 to take part in a set of GT Academy-inspired challenges.

If you emerge as the winner from the Silverstone stage you will win an all-expenses paid trip for you and a willing companion to the 2013 Le Man 24H race – (taking place on the 22nd and 23rd June 2013) where two of our star GT Academy drivers, Lucas Ordonez and Jordan Tresson, raced last year.

The in-game GT Academy Challenge will start 1st January 2013 and will run until 31st January 2013 – so you have plenty of opportunity to hone your skills before proceedings kick off. The competition will be available in the following countries; Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic Of Ireland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK & UAE.

But fear not if you aren’t in one of the eligible countries listed above. During the Paris Motor Show, which takes place between 29th September and 14th October, there will be a special GT5 Academy Edition challenge at the Nissan stand that will offer an opportunity for attendees to grab a direct route to Silverstone in March 2013.

But the GT5: Academy Edition is not just about the GT Academy Challenge competition – purchasers of the special edition will also receive a 25% discount voucher for the online Gran Turismo merchandise store GT Boutique. This is in addition to the fantastic package of DLC and full complement of functionality updates that is included within this edition, which adds an extra 30 vehicles and three courses, plus paint packs and racing gear.

The GT Boutique voucher will be available in the following countries; Germany, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Italy, Spain, Russia, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand.

So there you have it. Lots of great GT5 content, a chance to race for real, watch Le Mans in style, plus the opportunity to get kitted out in some rather fabulous gear. GT5 Academy Edition will launch on 26th September 2012 sporting an RRP of €29.99/£19.99. There will be more news on Gran Turismo to come so keep your eyes on PlayStation Blog and for more details.

Did you enjoy this?

Terrible Cover, shouldve used the Japanese XL cover.

I can’t believe I’m begging for this, but please put out more DLC content for GT5. You’ve created an awesome platform but you’re leaving us starved for additional stuff.

Either that, or you have to show off GT6 at TGS. Your choice. 😉

Have you guys ever thought about putting the t-shirts and jackets that Yamauchi-san, Translator-san and PD employees wear on GT Boutique? The current selection is pretty poor.

And yeah, what’s happened to all this DLC that Kaz was promising us? :/

So, comming from The Netherlands I’m not good enough to participate in winning something but I’m good enough to buy your crap in your store. Thanks.

So early adopters of the standard edition game can’t participate in this in-game challenge to win that trip??

Not that I will ever be able to place in the top 6, but still… 🙂

My thinking is that the cover isn’t that bad.It could be better however.
The other thing is that what’s the point re-releasing the game in different versions one after another? Where is DLC,Where are more Astons, Where is SL65 AMG?

Will we ever see the Stealth cars available on PSN?

Does this include the chromline cars from the 2010 special edition?

I find it a little odd that Australia is not eligible to enter, but New Zealand is included??
Great comp anyhow, good luck to all who enter 🙂
