Finally, was expecting Unfinished Swan only. Never saw Journey coming and been waiting for a price drop. Now I get both? Happy Christmas to me!

almighty-slayer 19 December, 2012 @ 12:19 am   2

Great price.

Only one problem – you can’t purchase the bundle if you own one of the games. And the games aren’t discounted individually. Considering the fact that Journey is PSN’s biggest seller, that kind of blows the deal for a lot of people.

Could discount The Unfinished Swan on its own, maybe?

gutted was really looking forward to the unfinished swan deal but i hate journey so there’s no point in buying

Allen_Kirameki 19 December, 2012 @ 12:23 am   4

almighty-slayer +1. I purchased Journey long time ago, and now I want Unfinished Swan… offer for it alone, please!

sk8allday47 19 December, 2012 @ 12:24 am   5

Dam i only have 10€ on my account noooo ;(

Great deal if own neither game, but if own either one already is a lame deal.

Should have discounted them individually.

that’s an awesome deal for whoever hasn’t got these…but for someone who already has one of these it’s a bummer… :/
i was waiting for the unfinished swan… pfff

I was really looking forward to picking up The Unfinished Swan on sale. I already own Journey (which is fantastic: GOTY for me!) but this bundle totally negates the discount! 🙁

Looks like I’m done with the 12 Days sale.

S-o-h-a-i-l 19 December, 2012 @ 12:28 am   9

Chris, could you PLEASE discount The Unfinished Swan individually as well – was really looking forward to this deal,(already own Journey, as do many) disappointed to see the long wait was for nothing. I have £6 in my PS Store wallet just waiting to be spent on this game, please make it happen.

sk8allday47 19 December, 2012 @ 12:29 am   10

pretty lame for people who already hv one of them.

rodrigo1UP 19 December, 2012 @ 12:31 am   11

Great deal =) thanks a lot!!

Kamikaze_Tutor 19 December, 2012 @ 12:33 am   12

One of the most promising deals, and of course it had to be a disappointment.

I already have Journey, will I get one extra copy to gift to a friend?

shadowslyr 19 December, 2012 @ 12:33 am   13

Wow, this is pathetic. I saw the swan shape at the start of the promotion and have been waiting for this deal the past two weeks, then it turns out to be a dual promotion and you can’t buy The Unfinished Swan on its own?!

I already own Journey (bough it release day like TGC’s last two games), so this is less than useless. Gutted.

I was looking forward to this deal as I was expecting it to be just The Unfinished Swan. I already own Journey though so I’d only be saving a pound. It would have been better if you’d discounted both to £5 each, then people who already own one if them can get it on the deal.

violentcop6 19 December, 2012 @ 12:38 am   15

Ouch! that Unfinshed Swan & Journey bundle with the ps+ discount looks like a must buy, too bad xmas not to mention life in general has totally killed my funds, sigh, theres always next year.

Well for those that own neither (as myself), this is the best deal yet!

But I feel you, those that bought Journey and thought this would be Unfinished Swan deal only, now it is bundled…

Seriously? I was looking forward to this deal, but I already have Journey as many others, discount Journey and Unfinished Swan individually so everyone can pick which they want. Journey is one of the best selling PSN games of all time so you could expect that many of us core gamers already have it.

Frustrating, Am totally skint but set aside a fiver on my psn when i saw the swan shape expecting it to be just Unfinished Swan, I do REALLY want both but unfortunately I get paid the minute this deal ends on the 21st!

lucasandjack 19 December, 2012 @ 12:40 am   19

Already own Journey, would have bought Unfinished Swan on its own but now no sale.

almighty-slayer 19 December, 2012 @ 12:42 am   20

Apparently you CAN buy them individually – but there’s no point, seeing as it would only be a £1 discount. Sort it out, SCEE

no arguing on the quality of the offer, but unfinished swan on its own was clearly what a large number, myself included, were after with this one. Heres hoping something can be done to suit everybody

Hexahedronaut 19 December, 2012 @ 12:44 am   22

*Slop clap* ….well done SCEE the only thing i was going to get from the 12 days but now i cant coz i already have journey. Well i think that rounds off a year of disappointment from you guys. merry Christmas to you to. 🙁

Hexahedronaut 19 December, 2012 @ 12:45 am   23

Slow clap* lol

dylanwiggan 19 December, 2012 @ 12:46 am   24

*SIGH* I never usually comment but this deal annoyed me so much i felt compelled. For anyone who hasnt already got one of these its a great deal sure. But i already, like a lot of people (especially blog readers)already have Journey.
Unfinished Swan was the deal I was waiting for so the whole 12 days has been a bit of a let down for me personally.
Bad 3rd party game deals are on thing as you have to negotiate with them. But i expected the first party stuff to not screw us.

zalwelgoedgaan 19 December, 2012 @ 12:49 am   25

Meh, I just wanted Unfinished Swan. :/ There are still regular sales, maybe we’ll have more luck then.

miauzerich 19 December, 2012 @ 12:49 am   26

Please discount them individually. Bought a 20€ card just for The Unfinished Swan 🙁

Jesus Christ, are you people really that hard to please?
This deal is extraordinary, and so were the ones before it.
Look, I get where you’re coming from with this one, and yes, if you alteady have journey not being able to get a discount on the other game sucks, but it is an offer, they’re not taking tou anything. We don’t see people complaining “oh, I saw the car image and I thought you would discount “enter some generic racing game here” but then it was Most Wanted, you guys suck”.
For me this deal is amazing and I will be spendind money on PSN for the first time since Flower.
And the deals have been amazing. You import your games from other countries so you don’t need these discounts, so what, let others enjoy them.
Sony has done some bad things (I’m still trying to figure out what the hell went wrong with CS:GO) but these deals are some of the best holiday promotions i have ever seen.
This is my first comment on this site, just to let you know that things like this make me feel ashamed of the gaming community.
Keep on gaming

“Sony has done some bad things (I’m still trying to figure out what the hell went wrong with CS:GO”

All those that want CS:GO, USA PSN has it on sale for 10,49 USD from 18th till 24th. Go grab an USA PSN prepaid card and get it cheap 🙂

johnnyquicknives 19 December, 2012 @ 1:00 am   29

Damn the comments on these posts have been bitchy. Yeah there were a couple of [DELETED] deals at the start but they’ve gotten a lot better. This is a pretty great deal for some people, an instant buy for me, here’s hoping they keep the high standard for the last 2 deals as they’re the ones I’ve had my eye on. If they come in at a similar price to nba/most wanted/lbpk (rather than the terrible non-deals on moh and battlefield) then my virtual wallet will be emptied.

bluespook 19 December, 2012 @ 1:05 am   30

I didn’t have journey or swan so to get these both is great.

Meh got both already would like one more deal before this thing ends that I can buy. Oh well at least I got Tokyo Jungle out of this 12 deal event.

Thanks for nothing Sony! Now you get none of my money

A bundle? Nooooo! I just wanted The Unfinished Swan, because I was going to get the Flow+Flower+Journey disc bundle. The price is great, but that sux to people who already got Journey.

Davethegreatest 19 December, 2012 @ 1:15 am   34

I brought journey yesterday for the full price… Would loved to have taken up this offer.

Chris, thanks for a great deal, have been holding off buying both and waiting for a good price.

@Paquete89, I completely agree.

It’s a shame about the negativity towards SCEE on this blog, this will be a good deal for a lot of people, you can’t please everyone. Keep up the good work.

bitbydeath 19 December, 2012 @ 1:16 am   36

Damn, i was looking forward to this.
Can you at least have a few different bundle options and make it with Flower or something?

Like many others in this thread, i’ve already got journey so cant benefit from the offer (i recently bought Journey on 7th December 2012 with the intention of playing it over the Christmas break, and haven’t even downloaded let alone played it yet!)

Any chance of a refund on my original order or an individual discount on unfinished swan as others have asked for please?

I already have The Unfinished Swan (Good little game by the way) so I can’t get this bundle =/

I’d much rather have 30-40% off Journey instead. Please make it happen SCEE! I want to give you some money!

I had none of both games and probably wouldn’t have bought Unfinished Swan if it were alone, so in my case their marketing trick to bundle them worked quite well. Right after I read about the deal I went to the webstore, a real instant-buy.

But I absolutely understand everyone who criticizes that this offers nothing to those who already own one game. A 30%(+10%) discount for the separate games would have been a logical addition to please ALL customers.

I was looking forward to getting The Unfinished Swan since the event started, but I’ve had Journey since its PS+ launch, so the bundle is no good to me and the many many other people who supported the massively selling PSN game who now lose out on the benefit of the discount.

Disappoint 🙁

zalwelgoedgaan 19 December, 2012 @ 1:56 am   41

Golwar wrote: “But I absolutely understand everyone who criticizes that this offers nothing to those who already own one game. A 30%(+10%) discount for the separate games would have been a logical addition to please ALL customers.”

Thanks for understanding, my eastern neighbor. It’s nice to see that among all the pathetic damage control (brought to you by Paquete and quantum) there are still some people that can see both sides of the coin and offer a middle-road solution. It really is strange of Sony to bundle the games, we didn’t see that coming at all. The perfect solution would be a discount on Journey and Swan each and a bundle for an even bigger discount. This way, everyone wins.

Tsubaki_14 19 December, 2012 @ 2:06 am   42

aww, I wanted journey by itself :'( will see if I can afford this -w-

almighty-slayer 19 December, 2012 @ 2:11 am   43

Yup, all they have to do is put maybe a 20% discount on the games individually. That way, the bundle gets a bigger discount so is the better deal for people who own neither game.

However, people who only own one of the games can still pick up the other for a good price.

Kamikaze_Tutor 19 December, 2012 @ 2:13 am   44

What do you think this is? Steam?

I tried purchasing Tokyo Jungle during the promotion and kept having problems trying to validate my credit card. Eventually the deal ended and the game reverted to its original price in my basket.
I contacted support asking for a way to complete my purchase with the discounted price, since it was their service fault that didn’t allow me to proceed with the payment, and they basically said “though luck”.

These series of deals just made me realize how amateur this service still is.

Prem-aka-Prince 19 December, 2012 @ 2:33 am   45

I am disappoint

@quantum7: “you can’t please everyone”

Yes you can, individually -50% from original price of Journey & Unfinished Swan.

Sort this out, please…

Great deal! Thank you

FluffyPloo 19 December, 2012 @ 5:12 am   48

Kinda screwed over all those who have already bought the biggest selling PSN/SEN game of all time…

Unicronic 19 December, 2012 @ 5:21 am   49

Was waiting for Unfinished Swan, already have Journey. Jeez, Christmas is cancelled

bennyrafal 19 December, 2012 @ 5:40 am   50

i own Flow, Flower, Journey Collection(journey, flow, flower on BR) that would be insane to buy another journey 😉 will wait for Swan alone.

lol 10/12 deals , only 1st = litel bit intresting i also tink next 2 not intresting to miself .

shame it’s a bundle. i already own journey and was really looking forward to a Swan discount

Kamikaze_Tutor ( 43 )
sony service go down instead of learning en go up .

lik asking tings on mail , them say u need to fone = !!!!!
so why put mail ore blog in first place if u not reply to questions ?

PanaSlayer 19 December, 2012 @ 5:59 am   54

Hahahahaha. Journey!!! Awesome!!! AWESOME!!! 🙂

Awesome deal! I guess now is the time for me to pick up these games :D.

DoYouLikeMyID 19 December, 2012 @ 6:13 am   56

I thought I was going to buy The Unfinished Swan, but now I also get Journey!

Nice special, now im broke…. thanks. 😛

XzSlLENTSNIPERzX 19 December, 2012 @ 6:19 am   58

Absolute bargain! I can finally get them both, thankyou so much!

residentSteve 19 December, 2012 @ 6:27 am   59

The chance to own two boring games think I will pass.

INS1GHTFUL 19 December, 2012 @ 6:48 am   60

Really disappointed like everyone else. Please discount them individually.

PIREDERAS 19 December, 2012 @ 6:54 am   61

Clap, Clap, Clap!!!…

I am floored by the deal. I was expecting a discount only for The Unfinished Swan today, and waiting for another discount on Journey in the future, but both of them together getting a discount? I am totally surprised by today’s deal, I didn’t expect Journey! I own none of those, so I am very pleased to see the offer. Of course, people who already purchased Journey won’t be as pleased as I am, but still it’s a very good deal.

As I fear that the next and final deals will be the new Hitman and Far Cry 3, which don’t impress me as much, this deal will likely be the last I buy for now, after picking 2 90-day PS plus subscriptions and Sleeping Dogs. I am looking forward to today’s newest sales when they’ll be announced on the Blog. Keep on surprising us Chris!!!

MaceStation 19 December, 2012 @ 6:57 am   62

The first of these Christmas deals that I have actually been interested in and I cannot get it! I have just moved into a new home and I do not have internet until Friday and I also have no money until I get paid on Friday.
Any chance that Sony could extend this deal by one day just for me?! Please?!

As I LOOOVE my PSN games, I of course already own Journey. As do quite a lot others, I presume. But I have a sneaking suspicion you already knew this…

Seeing the swan in gift wrap, I had very much looked forward to getting this, as it is one of the few brilliant PSN games, I haven’t already bought.

Seeing the “offer” now, it doesn’t seem as much a gift as a ploy, and you really should be a little bit ashamed of yourself.

chrisboers 19 December, 2012 @ 7:26 am   64

Yeah! Was expecting Unfinished Swan only, but including Journey is an even better deal for me, as I don’t have either. I can see whi this might disappoint some, who were expecting only US, but let’s not be spoiled brats, and enjoy the christmas spirit.
For some of us (like me), this present exceeded expectations, for some it wasn’t what they expected. For me, I can tell you my Deal is currently downloading 🙂

iamthelloyd 19 December, 2012 @ 7:31 am   65

Chris/Fred (and to an extent Jawad),

I’m always first on your side to defend the human errors of the PSN updates.

HOWEVER, you clearly showed a swan wrapped in paper for this promotion so what conclusion did you think we were going to make; naturally that the Unfinished Swan (and that alone) was going to be on offer. I too bought Journey [day 1 in fact] which makes me feel you were false advertising from the beginning. Please can you discount Unfinished Swan (as advertised) alone (in the next 48 hours), or alternatively i’ll be forced to wait for it as a PS+ freebie, and Giant Sparrow will get nothing.

Why oh why, could you not have put Journey onto today’s [PS Store] Festive Sale instead?

As my parents/teachers [delete as applicable] once said, i’m not angry, i’m just disappointed.

iamthelloyd 19 December, 2012 @ 7:36 am   66

Like XBL, there is a site you can use to purchase games online now:!/en-gb/home/main

These should start downloading the next time you switch the PS3 on.

Xephon1970 19 December, 2012 @ 7:38 am   67

Great! Fantastic offer!

Except…I already own both games. Here’s the thing – both titles had a lot of critical positivity and a pretty hefty push from Sony, so to expect people to wait for a sale at the end of the year, feels like a kick in the teeth to those early adopters who are passionate and enthusiastic about playing new, original games that aren’t the run of the mill. Excellent for those that don’t already have either, but how many is that really?

Jamesyp00 19 December, 2012 @ 7:40 am   68

Your taking the michael right!?
The ONLY Deal i was really excited for was getting the unfinished swan discounted, it’s been there for weeks waiting to be purchasable and you have to make it a double pack with a game a large majority has bought already!
Please make the unfinished swan a deal by itself like it looked to be.

We’re mad for not seeing this one coming really. Sony screw us over time and time again.

What’s a sure fire way of guaranteeing they don’t lose money by selling too many copies of Swan at a reduced price? By tying it to a title that everybody in their right mind has already bought.

Nice one Sony, you surprise us yet again with your failure to provide adequate customer service.

They should shut this whole site down now as it’s more than 50% people complaining and Sony couldn’t care less so the site serves no real purpose as a customer feedback/experience.

To all of you who are whining that this is a bad deal. Buy the other game separately for the full price and support the developers! It’s amazing to see how many people are breaking sony’s balls because they gave us an amazing christmas deal!

Thank you Sony! It was a nobrainer to get this bundle. Made my day 🙂 Looking forward to the last 2 deals.

Happy holidays!

What games are going to be on offer for deals 11 and 12 anyone??

Jamesyp00 19 December, 2012 @ 7:53 am   72

I’m pretty sure it’s Hitman: Absolution and Far Cry 3 dude.

marach_liz 19 December, 2012 @ 7:54 am   73

Ugh. I was really looking forward to getting Unfinished Swan, but since I- like many others- have Journey already this deal is a “no deal” for me. Oh well. Hopefully there will be some good deals in today’s Festive Sale to “compensate” for this.

“Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 12:52 am by Paquete89
Jesus Christ, are you people really that hard to please?
For me this deal is amazing and I will be spendind money on PSN for the first time since Flower.”

First spend since Flower, eh?
As us complainers spend money by the bucketload on PSN Store, are you sure WE are the ones, that are hard to please?

Consider it bought!

I was waiting for a discount on both of these games and now I can get them even cheaper together 🙂

But as has been already said this is a very bad deal for those who have already bought the best-selling game on PSN, Journey.

@Jamesyp00 – Thanks for that.

And for what it’s worth today’s the first time I might buy something out of these 10 deals so far.

jopiekrekel 19 December, 2012 @ 8:24 am   77

I was expecting only Swan.. Now I also have journey.. OWWW Yeah!! Thx psn..

VitalogyPJ 19 December, 2012 @ 8:27 am   78

I don’t like unfinished swan and so I don’t want it :\ I was really waiting for journey alone. I kinda feel like there pushing the other game down my throat -.-‘

I don’t care if it’s 50% I’m not gonna buy something I don’t like and to pay that and have a game I’ll never play I rather buy journey alone at its standard price which it’ll not happen anyway because scee doesn’t deserv my money.

Worfthedog 19 December, 2012 @ 8:55 am   79

Moan, moan moan. Nothing changes here. Thanks from me though, I’ll take the offer gladly, many thanks!

FAIL! Everyone who might want to buy Swan already have got Journey. IF there was Swan with 25% discount I might think of it. Otherwise will wait and buy Swan alone.

MaceStation 19 December, 2012 @ 8:56 am   81

That is handy to know. I thought I saw something about such a site a while back, but I had not seen it actually advertised anywhere so I was unsure if it had actually launched or not. Still though, my main issue is that I simply do not have any money to spare to buy these games until Friday (when I will also be renewing my PS+ subscription), so I am going to miss out on this great deal. Very annoying.

ReNeGaDe124UK 19 December, 2012 @ 8:56 am   82

Please discount them separately or just The Unfinished Swan. I already have Journey. 🙁

willbillbill 19 December, 2012 @ 9:00 am   83

As these titles were such massive sellers I expected and was going to wait for them to arrive on plus but at this price I would feel bad not giving the developers some money they deserve. Happy out with this deal, something to look forward too after work.

Carnivius_Prime 19 December, 2012 @ 9:00 am   84

Pass. Unfinished Swan doesn’t appeal to me and Journey was pointless, pretentious and empty.

zxRATTLExz 19 December, 2012 @ 9:05 am   85

Turned my PS3 on just after midnight and saw the offer. Better than expected for me as i was expecting just Unfinished Swan but got Journey as well. Best offer of the 12 days for me although i can understand why people with Journey already would be fed up. Still, if you have plus you wouldstill save a whole £1 😉

Wow… what a way to get excited and disappointed at the same time.

Don’t get me wrong: the deal is GREAT! However, for those who already have one of the games, it is a punch in the stomach.

The Unfinished Swan was a Day-1 buy for me and I loved it. I’ve made a walkthrough on my YT channel and everyone was fascinated by the beauty of it. I was really looking forward to buy Journey… and now i’m just frustrated. Man, only if I could give one of the games as a gift to a friend…

It could be an AWESOME deal for everyone if it was 50% off on Journey and The Unfinished Swan individually. Sony, it would be profitable. Just think about it 😉

bitbamboo 19 December, 2012 @ 9:06 am   87

I feel offended by Sony. I will not forgive this

It is not because of what the deal is – it is a good one – but the way it has been offered

It is a bad practice of marketing to create an expectation for 20 days with consistent deals based on discounts and then put a bundle. This deal does not fit here.

It is absurd to make a bundle and use for promotion the least demanded product. It just does not makes sense. Journey will be remembered as one of the top 10 games of 2012 (or even the GoTY) and U. Swan has performed below expectations in sales and critics.

Very BAD marketing; last minute decissions must be thinked twice

razordude 19 December, 2012 @ 9:14 am   88

Great deal – many thanks.

Robinworldwide 19 December, 2012 @ 9:16 am   89

Same as almost everyone else here, i already own Journey: please make an offer for the Unfinished Swan alone and I’ll buy it, otherwise it’s a big no!

I did not have either of these games and I wanted them both, so this is actually a perfect deal for me. But I can totally feel the frustration of the people who were waiting for Unfinished Swan alone and now they cannot buy it. I know I would be gutted.

I liked the promotion as a whole. I got the extra 3 months of PS+, Sleeping Dogs, Journey/Unfinished Swan and I may still buy Far Cry 3, depending on the discount.

mickaelcpereira 19 December, 2012 @ 9:26 am   91

As many have said above, I’ve also got Journey and I deplore that I can’t buy The Unfinished Swan discounted alone.

Well I suppose you can’t help it if you’ve already bought either of the two. I’m sold on this Deal heard good stuff about Journey/Unfinished Swan.

Same as almost everyone else here, i already own Journey: please make an offer for the Unfinished Swan alone and I’ll buy it, otherwise it’s a big no!

slaven_1986 19 December, 2012 @ 9:38 am   94

well, it sucks for me too, already have journey so i was really looking forward to buy “swan”… but so is business you just cant make everyone happy, you cant go to a retail store and ask for another deal because you already own something included in a bundle they offer on sale, thats not how things work i am sure if psn discounted 95% of their games there would be people bitching why isnt the game they love not discounted…i bought the ps+ deal, tokyo jungle, most wanted and downloaded arkham city(playing it for the first time) for less then 40€ and i think that this is a great deal would love to have unfinished swan but still i am very pleased with the offers

Good deal. Had been waiting for Journey to be on sale but Unfinished Swan looks quite interesting so i’ll defo be picking this up this evening!

MASPALOMAZ 19 December, 2012 @ 9:46 am   96

About how much play-time are both the games?!

“Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 7:38 am by Xephon1970

Excellent for those that don’t already have either, but how many is that really?”

Eh well there are over 70 mln PS3’s sold and both Journey and Unfinished Swan haven’t sold nearly those numbers.

So I’d say there are a lot of people that don’t own both.

Jamesyp00 19 December, 2012 @ 9:52 am   98

Journey is about 2 hours long, iv;e heard the unfinished swan is about the same length.

carlosdfn 19 December, 2012 @ 9:59 am   99

Oh come on, I know this is an amazing deal but I already own Journey. I’ve been looking forward to getting the Unfinished Swan since the sale was announced and now you go and bundle it with a game I already own without the option to buy separately?

SteFromAbove 19 December, 2012 @ 10:08 am   100

Whilst I appreciate that this bundle is a fantastic deal for people who don’t own these games, I can’t help but feel that the omission of the option to purchase these titles individually is a mistake which can only cost Sony sales.

It would be interesting to be given a little feedback as to the logic/thinking behind only offering the deal as a bundle, and not two standalone games. I’m sure that there is a good reason for this, and explaining this to the people posting here would no doubt be beneficial for all concerned 🙂

Conan_Rus 19 December, 2012 @ 10:10 am   101

Already have Journey… 🙁
Please, make a discount on The Unfinihed Swan on its own.

    Chris Howe 19 December, 2012 @ 10:18 am

    Hi all,

I have approached the store operations team to see if it is possible to split them up but it might not be possible from a technical standpoint at this stage but I will keep you posted.

GutsBerserker 19 December, 2012 @ 10:17 am   102

Yes that’s quite unfortunate, was eagerly anticipating the Unfinished Swan deal and now you just make a bundle with Journey. I already own Journey since day 1, so I’ll just buy nothing instead of a discounted Unfinished Swan.

I already have journey! so this deal suuuucks!

Can’t you sell them separate at a discounted price? no point in buying a bundle with a game i have already.

Tbh i would buy it if i could gift the copy of journey to someone but alas such an option doesn’t exist

A separate deal on Journey would also be nice. Provided it’s possible. Also, I’d like to ask random Internet people to stop complaining, if the deal’s not for you then skip it.

Major letdown since I was expecting ONLY a sale on Unfinished Swan to purchase it. I already own Journey like I believe most PS3 owners since it’s PSN’s best seller. What kind of deal is this? Please get one for The Unfinished Swan ONLY!!!

ChemicalBacon90 19 December, 2012 @ 10:30 am   106

Definitely the best deal so far, so well done on getting this one.

Great for people who haven’t played either yet, but feel a bit sorry for those who already own one or the other, which is quite likely given the popularity of Journey in particular. Hopefully they can separate the bundle to give you guys a good deal too. Perhaps keep the bundle at £9.99/£8.99 PS+, and have them both on sale individually at £5.99/£4.99 PS+ or something.

Gameskeeper 19 December, 2012 @ 10:31 am   107

“You’ll be waiting for a long time to see Journey on a sale”.
– Another Sony lie busted! 😉

But more seriously, an excellent deal for those who refuse to buy anything at full price.

almighty-slayer 19 December, 2012 @ 10:39 am   108

Thanks for trying, Chris

Catkiller1 19 December, 2012 @ 10:42 am   109

Fantastic! Will purchase this bundle tonight 🙂

@ Chris

It would have been an idea to offer them separately at a decent price but the bundle, slightly cheaper than buying them both individually.

Would have kept all sides happy.

Great deal for me though! 😉

Flipside666 19 December, 2012 @ 10:42 am   110

daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm now theres a good deal, glad i held back on buying these , thank you sony team for this great gift =)

salvogdaze 19 December, 2012 @ 10:44 am   111

So glad I waited on Journey, such a nice little deal

Thanks for trying!

But how is there technical issues with discounting the separate titles?

They’re already on the store so all you need to do is make the new price go live…..not much of a task surely?

silmorat1 19 December, 2012 @ 10:48 am   113

Wow wasn’t expecting both games I wanted in the same bundle and at £8.99 ….bang that’s mine…….loading right now! Thanks!

Xxx Merry Xmas xxx

laticspieman 19 December, 2012 @ 10:56 am   114

I understand how amazing a deal this is however I do feel mislead. When you revealed the 12 days of Christmas promotion images there was no mention of journey. I had desired both of these games since there releases but I decided to wait for a sale. As journey was not shown to be a part of this sale I took the plunge and purchased it just 2 days ago for full price 9.99 even though I am a playstation plus customer.

Now I find out that two days later both the games I wanted are available for only £8.99. I hope you can sort some deal for users who are in a similar situation.

I just feel mislead as I bought journey two days ago based on the fact it was not going to be in this sale.

Catkiller1 19 December, 2012 @ 11:05 am   115

@ laticspieman

How can you be mislead when it was never mentioned what content you would receive? Yes it was an image of a swan & obviously we all thought Unfinished Swan would be the title but as it was an image wrapped up depicting a present, then you & everyone else wasn’t to know, that’s why these images are hidden.

If SONY did refund you somehow, then it would be a good-will gesture, as they don’t really have to. It was supposed to be a bit of fun with unwrapping these “presents” so unfortunately I don’t think they can do anything!

Hopefully the Store Team will discount the titles individually, then you & others will feel less let down.

Unfortunate but tough luck!

Dewington 19 December, 2012 @ 11:13 am   116

“Unfortunate but tough luck” sounds like what should be the stock reply to most of these complaints. Anyone would think half of these people had never seen a sale before – by its very nature, it’s something that used to cost more suddenly costing less. If everyone who’d ever bought anything at its original price took the hump when it went on sale, the entire WORLD would be in a constant state of feeling duped.

Don’t get me wrong – as someone who also bought Journey, I’m also hoping they swing something where Unfinished Swan can be discounted on its own. But if they can’t, then too bad! The sense of entitlement on display here is staggering.

laticspieman 19 December, 2012 @ 11:17 am   117

I was by no means requesting a refund (although one would be very nice :p ) I was simply requesting for a discounted version of the titles seperately.

With more titles to be added to the festive sale i don’t really understand why anyone would of bought something during the week that wasn’t on sale.

TheNudgeMan 19 December, 2012 @ 11:26 am   119

Can I just say, the sense of entitlement on this blog is shocking! I can see why people would be disappointed with not being able to get these titles separately, and to be honest it’s Sony’s own fault.

If they didn’t have those wrapped present things indicating what deals were on the horizon, there would not be half as many disgruntled customers out there.

I personally don’t own either, and if I had a choice I would just get Journey at at a discounted price, and shun The Unfinished Swan altogether, but all in all i’m happy with this deal.

Guys, as harsh as it sounds, Sony are in fact trying to run a business here. The amount of guff that appears on here at times makes it seem more like a playschool. If HMV or the like had a sale on, say, The Star Wars Trilogy, but the only one you needed was Return of The Jedi, you (hopefully) wouldn’t go in and start berating the staff about it, would you?

This a fantastic deal for many people out there, not so great for others, but you can’t win ’em all!

Sorry for the rant…

I’d love to get the Unfinished Swan/Journey-bundle but my console is so full already that the US is just way too big for it atm 🙁

Jamesyp00 19 December, 2012 @ 11:30 am   121

Sorry but anybody who uses the word entitlement and isn’t being ironic about it automatically has there entire argument null and void.

TheNudgeMan 19 December, 2012 @ 11:33 am   122

Sorry, I have just read your post, and I should have read it before posting, as now it looks like I have basically plagiarised everything that you said, which wasn’t the case at all!

Needless to say I agree with everything you say!

Dewington 19 December, 2012 @ 11:46 am   123

@TheNudgeMan Heh, no worries!

@Jamesyp00 Care to back that up with anything resembling a real argument? Just because people bandy the word ‘entitlement’ around doesn’t make it any less accurate in this case.

Catkiller1 19 December, 2012 @ 11:49 am   124

@ The NudgeMan

You chose a bad comparison for this deal!

“If HMV or the like had a sale on, say, The Star Wars Trilogy, but the only one you needed was Return of The Jedi, you (hopefully) wouldn’t go in and start berating the staff about it, would you?”

With the Star Wars Trilogy you know what to expect & you wouldn’t berate staff anyway, as it’s a Trilogy so why would you bother if you only wanted one of those titles?? With this deal it was an image of a swan & gave the impression that Unfinished Swan would be the discounted title, which isn’t the case!

It doesn’t bother me but your statement did, as the comparison makes no sense!

I could understand if it was an image of Jak & Daxter & only Jak & Daxter 2 was discounted, as everyone would expect the Trilogy to be within the Deal!

Just saying 😉

luckysalt81 19 December, 2012 @ 11:50 am   125

Any idea what time the festive sale updates are going up? I see the ones that didn’t make it last week are now live.

Whens the blog going up with the new titles? Impatient!!!

Catkiller1 19 December, 2012 @ 11:52 am   126

Either way, it’s a great deal for me as I don’t own any of these titles.

I’m hoping Retro City Rampage is finally released today & if so, time to top up my wallet!

Catkiller1 19 December, 2012 @ 11:54 am   127

@ luckysalt81

The store normally updates between 15:00 – 17:00 but some content filters through randomly.

Hit & Miss, really.

EggersTownVille 19 December, 2012 @ 11:57 am   128

should have got sleeping dogs every other deal has been disappointing.I would have picked uswan up but just like joe danger 2 pack wont bother as own other games in bundles. prob wont bother with next deals like farcry and hitman at 50% off the inflated Au retail price but thanks anyway

luckysalt81 19 December, 2012 @ 12:00 pm   129

cheers @catkiller1

I’ll be at work then, can check the blog on my mobile at break though.

xxSamuraiGirlxx 19 December, 2012 @ 12:05 pm   130

this is a good deal.

mmmm i wanna get it but i think i’ll hold out and see what else goes on sale.

*cough*walking dead*cough*borderlands 2 season pass*cough**cough*

xbox got those 2 things on sale so i hope sony could get it as well. *hint* lol :p

AttitudeBear 19 December, 2012 @ 12:05 pm   131

While (as a Journey owner) I am a little disappointed at bundling of these two games together, I appreciate that others who own neither will benefit nicely from this deal.

That said, I don’t seem to be able to find Unfinished Swan available on the Store for individual download at all! Any one else have the same issue? Apologies if it has been highlighted already.

(Note: I am using the web store. Not able to check on my PS3).

Awesome news, Chris. Thanks for listening!

luckysalt81 19 December, 2012 @ 12:20 pm   133

Seen an advert this morning on a website saying Playstation Plus year sub is now £30, had Batman Arkham City on the advert so its new, so looks like thats happening too.

Any confirmation?

luckysalt81 19 December, 2012 @ 12:25 pm   134

looks like the ad has been pulled now by the way

Awesome deal!!! Tested the online store with this deal, seems pretty snazzy, would like it to initiate auto download for PS3.

listenkids 19 December, 2012 @ 12:30 pm   136

I was willing to pay for an Unfinished Swan deal, but considering I ( and so many others ) have Journey, this is bad.

Off topic, is there any way of changing your psn name? I get insults and complaints galore

OLD_BOY-GR 19 December, 2012 @ 12:31 pm   137

Nice deal!!! 🙂

any update on what titles that have not already been listed last week are being added to the festive sale today?

In agreement with so many others, had been waiting for The Unfinished Swan (as I bought Journey on release). This was incredibly shortsighted to bundle The Unfinished Swan with the biggest selling game on psn. The Unfinished Swan was the only game I was interested in with the 12 deals of xmas (I purchased Tokyo Jungle on release)

Honestly if there is anything I have learned from this is that I won’t be buying any more games on release. I will only ever buy a game when it goes on sale. This is my new years resolution for 2013.

What a way to exclude the vast majority of people on psn.

Tenchuwoh 19 December, 2012 @ 12:50 pm   140

I thought that “Unfinished Swain” would have a great price drop like Tokyo jungle.I have 11 euros on my PSN wallet and i wanted to get the “Unfinished Swain”(thought5-6euros) & LBP2 Cross-Controller DLC(5 euros).
I hope that you will split them because i already have the beautiful “Journey”!
It is like there is no deal for me like this :/

CreditDue 19 December, 2012 @ 12:58 pm   141

This deal is very tempting. If Metro Last Light isn’t being sold on PSN today at a mental price, I’ll fork out for this

Batist85 19 December, 2012 @ 1:05 pm   142

Was going to get Unfinished Swan. But I already own Journey so no deal for me. bye.

Finka_Karfein 19 December, 2012 @ 1:05 pm   143

OK, Journey and The Unfinished Swan are ours now. Thanks for a great deal!

MA76_666 19 December, 2012 @ 1:11 pm   144

another amazing deal thx Chris & 25% off a PlayStation Plus year’s subscription ….i’ll take that hoping we won’t be left out like september 😉

Wanted to get Unfinished Swan but already got Journey so this deal is no good for me.
Gutter as I would buy UNfinished if it was on sale.
Hope the deal gets split?

I’m glad I held out on buying Journey, great price for 2 sweet games.

I may have to snag this, but will hold out till I see what else goes up today 🙂 And to anyone complaining about “false advertising” or “entitlement”, an image of an unwrapped swan with no concrete info doesn’t constitute advertisement, so basing your expectation on it was only ever going to lead to disappointment. As for “entitelment”, the only obligation Sony as a company has is to it’s shareholders. That may seem harsh to some people, and I’m no huge fan of SCEE or the way they handle the PSN store, but that how the real world works I’m afraid!

That you try to please all is a welcome move, but I must certainly question why you and your team didn’t manage to expect exactly this criticism already in advance?
As previously commented, I understand the frustration of anyone who already ownes one of those games.
If both games should separately receive a 50% discount now, it would annoy me on the other hand, as I wanted just a Journey sale.

Often enough I get the impression as if you guys never before experienced such sales and events before. Did nobody of you ever shop on Steam, Amazon etc.? Because that would be the only explanation if you are really surprised by this result.

Well, at least we got one reply which is rare enough. Considering all technical issues with the store being either offline, plus discounts missing, mostly unattractive deals, lack of Vita sales, the delay of a large part of last weeks offers and the general lack of communication, I’d rate SCEE’s Christmas sale with an F.
Only this deal and Tokyo Jungle prevented a G or U.

If I add the PSP Lego Batman “replacement” and missing Sleeping Dogs to this affair, you’d certainly receive an U at least for the German market.

So please, IMPROVE!

Geez, once more I have not the slightest idea what for my comment is in moderation. Bravo SCEE!

Brodiesan 19 December, 2012 @ 1:36 pm   150

Disappointing. Was all set to buy The Unfinished Swan. Bundling it with a game a lot of people already have makes no sense. No sale here either. You should seriously put some thought into these offers and anticipate what the community’s reaction will be. This is a no-brainer. I’m surprised this offer even got green-lit considering how counter-productive it is.

Split the deal. Make it a 13th day deal if you have to. Don’t be hindered by bad judgement. Learn from your mistakes.

I have been waiting for a Unfinished Swan deal for weeks but I have already bought Journey so it isn’t really a discount for me.

I really like the ideas of discounted bundles but there needs to be a system in place for people who have bought one game or several games in bigger bundle.

I have thought about this and I like the way steam handles this but I think there could be a even better system in place. My idea is that you would get a redeem code you could give away to friend which unlocks the game/ganes you already have in your library or if you decide to use the code yourself you would instead get 5€ back.

gemuarto 19 December, 2012 @ 2:38 pm   152

This Jorney and Unfinished Swan bundle is SO STUPID, frustrating and disappointing…. T____T …

Marky264 19 December, 2012 @ 2:50 pm   153

@Chris Howe

Chris once again no one’s been in reply as to why I didn’t receive my 10% PS+ Discount for Need For Speed Most Wanted. The Discount was there for short time before it Just simply Disappeared. Can you please Reply in what you can do about this as I rightfully wanted to Purchase that Game for £21.59 and did not do so as It was incorrectly displaying £23.99. The Deal has passed now so what can you do about it now for me wanting to Buy It with the Eligible PS+ Discount I have? It’s beyond frustrated me and with no Official Comment I’m getting fed up of repeating myself on every blog.

I’m with everyone else. The bundle is pointless to me. I already have Unfinished Swan so wasn’t going to go for the deal anyway. But if there was a discount for them separately I’d definitely pick up Journey.

REKONING112 19 December, 2012 @ 5:44 pm   155

@Chris Howe

I’m in the same boat as Marky264, I also didn’t receive my 10% PS+ Discount for Need For Speed Most Wanted Christmas Deal.

ReNeGaDe124UK 19 December, 2012 @ 5:53 pm   156

Now on the PSN WebStore the two games can be found separately but without discount, which you couldn’t before, when the bundle was announced. So it might be a sign that they are working on reducing the price for them individually. Keep your fingers crossed! 🙂

artopand 19 December, 2012 @ 9:10 pm   157

Reading through all the comments I have to agree with others that all this hatred and anger is completely unfair. If you don’t like it don’t buy it! It’s still an amazing deal for those who don’t have any of the two games.

Having said that, I too have Journey already and I too was expecting for a deal on the Unfinished Swan. So, please Sony, give us what we want!!!

When does the current offer end exactly? It says December 20th, 11.59pm, but is it GMT 0?

I’m desperately trying to give you my money and have done several times today between 2pm and 11pm but I keep getting an error.

Is there any way this can be resolved? I would hate to miss out on this deal.

Also, the hate is ridiculous, get over yourselves.

fraggy017 20 December, 2012 @ 1:41 am   160

The best deal this year! Thank you guys!

SwingerE11 20 December, 2012 @ 1:24 pm   161

I jus bought this bundle and I didn’t like journey, thinking what do people see in it? I’m not hating, I jus didn’t feel like playing it. I haven’t played the other one yet. It was a good deal tho, 2 games for £9. But it does take the [DELETED] if you was expecting Unfinished swan only, coz of that swan image on the store.

SwingerE11 20 December, 2012 @ 1:37 pm   162

Huh? they deleted a word that’s not even a swear word? but… why?

mazegami 20 December, 2012 @ 4:53 pm   163

How can there be technical difficulties!? Just discount each game SEPARATELY. A lot of people will have bought journey or swan on day one and I’m sure you know that, so you can understand how this has come across as a middle finger to your (still, despite everything) loyal customers.

capitales7 20 December, 2012 @ 8:33 pm   164

Shame I already have Journey, as like so many others here, I really wanted (and looked forward to) Unfinished Swan.
I must say though, if you don’t own these games, this is one of the best deals you’ll get all year! Simply shut up and throw money at your TV until a download starts or something 🙂

…and as time runs short on this deal, it appears as if once again Sony choose to ignore their loyal fans and push once more for the Wonga. Disappointing to say the least.

Singspamsux 20 December, 2012 @ 11:02 pm   166

More SCEE misleading advertising.
