  • A brand new story – We have a brand new theme that will see Sackboy travelling across the Omniverse to discover the lost treasure!
  • Five costumes – Sackboy will be fully kitted out for his new adventure with five brand new costumes! Don’t forget about our Cross-Buy Costumes! If you purchase this pack, these costumes will also work on LittleBigPlanet PS Vita and will become available in LittleBigPlanet Karting in a future update!
  • Four new tools – The Worm Hole, the Vitanator, the Remote Tag Sensor and the Tag Radar are all available to help you create your own Cross-Controller experience.

What is a Worm Hole?
The Worm Hole is Sackboy’s brilliant new teleportation tool that will enable him to travel safely from one Worm Hole to another within the same level without fear of losing a life. This handy new tool will even allow Sackboy to teleport from your PlayStation 3 to your PlayStation Vita and vice-versa, should you want him to return home!

The most intuitive and creative level designers will even be able to use the tool to remove Sackboy from gameplay and effectively lock him in a state of stasis whilst action is taking place elsewhere in the level…

Riddle me this, Sony firmware boffins.

– I can play games and remote play wirelessly between Vita and PS3.
– I can transfer data wirelessly between Vita and my PC.

…but then why to tranfer data between Vita and PS3 I need plug in a wire?

If you’re having any problems with installing and running the LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Control Pack on your PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, head on over to the following thread for a step-by-step guide on how to get the LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Control up and running.

Hi Steven,

I have one question.

Let’s assume that I have a Vita and a friend of mine doesn’t, we both have this DLC, if we play the story mode in coop, will we both get the DLC’s trophies ? Is this possible at all ?

    Steven Isbell 19 December, 2012 @ 2:36 pm

The LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller Pack can be played single player or multiplayer, provided that one person owns a PlayStation Vita.

If your friend plays the pack with you and they own the DLC too, then they will earn any Trophies, Pins or collectables that you pick up in the new story together.

Going to be livestreaming this tonight on the LBPCreateGuide channel ^-^

Thanks for the awesome price! I feel bad giving this little 🙁

Looks very awesome!

But I have to ask a kind of silly question… is there any incentive to buy this if you don’t have a PS Vita?

    Steven Isbell 19 December, 2012 @ 2:38 pm

With the exception of the Vitanator, all of the news tools and goodies can be used in your community levels without requiring a PlayStation Vita!

The Worm Hole, Materials, Decorations, Music and so much more will all be useful to any creator looking to expand their tool bag! 🙂

Splutterbug 19 December, 2012 @ 2:17 pm   5

The WiiU is suddenly not looking quite as revolutionary as all the journalists first thought.

KillaT2501 19 December, 2012 @ 2:17 pm   6

Do we need LBP Vita for this?

On the XMB next to Singstar should be Little Big Planet along with PSABR and Buzz!

    Steven Isbell 19 December, 2012 @ 2:41 pm

You do not need LittleBigPlanet PS Vita to play this pack.

The LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller Pack is an exclusive collection of new levels, tools and features for LittleBigPlanet 2. 🙂

If you own LittleBigPlanet PS Vita though, you will be able to add the 5 Costumes from this pack into your game with our Cross-Buy scheme. 🙂

SpitelordDekka 19 December, 2012 @ 2:17 pm   7

You should make it clear, as per the last post about this, that you don’t need to pay anything if all you want to do is play created content that makes use of this functionality.

Just to get new materials and trophies, but in order to even play it you will need to have someone with it and a vita to host the pod

@ Steven

You gotta help me out a bit dude!

I always heard that a USA game wouldn’t be able to use DLC bought on the EU PSN/PAL store and vise versa.

Yet, I own LBP2 USA version (Collectors Edition imported as it had more goodies than EU one and cheaper too), and I own LBP1 PAL through the PS3 LBP pack I bought back in 2008.

Strangely, the LBP1 PAL DLC I bought (Pirates of Carribean, MGS), does work with LBP2 USA. So now I am not sure anymore if stuff that was always stated is correct.

Asking this because I have cash on my EU PS+ account to buy this pack today, my USA account I should buy and redeem a prepaid card again for 20 but have nothing else to buy in that store. Maybe someone else knows 100% if for this or more games the region lock to DLC coming from the games disc region isn’t in place?

    Steven Isbell 19 December, 2012 @ 2:48 pm

    LittleBigPlanet DLC is region-locked.

So ideally you will want to own a PSN account that matches the region of your game and then use that one account to purchase all of your LittleBigPlanet DLC.

Since you own a US copy of LittleBigPlanet 2, you should be purchasing DLC from the US PlayStation Store.

With this in mind, you should also ensure that any copies of LittleBigPlanet PS Vita or LittleBigPlanet Karting you own should also be from the US, since that will allow you gain access to the Costume DLC across the three titles.

Hi Steve, thank you again for ignoring my question in your former post (now 2 posts ago). I guess I’m not going to buy this when I’m not sure it’ll work.

I had the same question like you TheMart. But Steven ignores answering it for the past 2 posts.

flipkick661 19 December, 2012 @ 2:23 pm   12

Nice, wold have bought this right away, but firing up remote play here from work, and using the PS Store is no longer possible, because “surprise”, the new store is incompatible with remote play.

Sad that Sony decided to make remote play even more useless 🙁

@ OttoT

Maybe I’ll bite the bullet and let you know dude. As my LBP1 PAL DLC did work on my LBP2 American game. So I am assuming it should work the other way around too.

But then again, would be sad to see if I paid 5 Euro and it wouldn’t work…

@ Flipkick

Use the PC store link to buy it through the PC!

Tenchuwoh 19 December, 2012 @ 2:28 pm   15

I am gonna get it as soon as it shows up on PS Store,i can’t find it yet.
One random question,if anyone knows the answer tell me please:P
I got the PS+ for 3 months with the first Christmas deal but i want to get the one for 1 whole year with the price cut on Jauniary 1st,will i be able to get it or i wont cause i will laready be a member?
Thanks in advance!

Yep, they pile on-top of each-other ^-^

Mattiebo123 19 December, 2012 @ 2:34 pm   17

The DLC is available now on the PS Store if you search (I found it on the browser store), but I’m having some trouble connecting the Vita to the PS3.

I have no problems connecting to Remote Play, but the Vita won’t get past the first step when connecting to cross control. Is there any way around this?

Can’t connect the Vita to the PS3. The two don’t seem to see each other . When will this be fixed?

@KillaT2501 No you don’t need LBPVita, just LBP2 for PS3.

Gamesgbkiller 19 December, 2012 @ 2:51 pm   20

Why its 209.5 KB ?!
should it be longer ?

@ Steven

Thanks for the reply, but you skipped the part that I used my LBP1 PAL DLC bought in EU store in my current LBP2 USA disc version of the game.

So how is that possible if you say this?

“LittleBigPlanet DLC is region-locked.
So ideally you will want to own a PSN account that matches the region of your game and then use that one account to purchase all of your LittleBigPlanet DLC.
Since you own a US copy of LittleBigPlanet 2, you should be purchasing DLC from the US PlayStation Store”

Isn’t that strange???

I can play Pirates of the Carribean and MGS PAL DLC on my USA copy of the game fine… I don’t care for LBP karting as I already own Modnation Racers, better version of that racing game 😉

But back to the DLC, how can you explain the PAL DLC bought for LBP1 PAL/EU works on the USA/NTSC version of LBP2?

    Steven Isbell 19 December, 2012 @ 3:19 pm

That really should not be happening and this is the first that I’ve heard of DLC being able to work across regions.

Either way, I would still advise you to only ever purchase DLC from the regional PlayStation Store that matches the region of your LittleBigPlanet games.

I am also unable to connect the two. i have updated my vita to 2.01 and still nothing.

It’s not working for me. I’ve been trying for the the last 45 minutes and my Vita will not connect.

i read somewhere that it is the disk version that it having connection problems. has anyone got the disk version to connect? or are having problems with the digital version?

I’m using the digital version and it’s not working.

@ OttoT too

We got LBP2 for free in the instant game collection with PS+ too, so either way it’ll work for us hahaha if it won’t work on my dics version from USA, it’ll work that way.

Lol, totally forgot about that! No problemo, off to buy that pack!

Noctorrent 19 December, 2012 @ 3:27 pm   27

Also not working for me. Both ps3 and vita up to date, on the same network and do not connect.

Digital version having problems as well.

@TheMART I had LBP1 on disk from NL but it didn’t import it’s stuff into the LBP2 US version. Then, after the hack I got LBP1 for free on my US account but the kratos costume I bought in the NL store did’t work (that was all I bought on the NL store). I played LBP1 US version and unlocked stuff and imported it in my LBP2 US version.
So I want all my materials and DLC to play with so I’m going to buy the US version.
This whole region lock on DLC keeps me from buying the LBPvita version because I’m not sure it’ll run on my NL Vita.
Who thought this region lock DLC stuff was a good idea?!

OH GOD!!! 😀 I NEED THAT CUTE LITTLE ‘REAL?!’ SACKBOY that pops-up on that sofa!!! 😛

so would i if it would connect >.<

Hi Stephen! I have a big problem with LBP2 after the update. If I go into a level or go creating, my system crashes. And I noticed that my Sackboy is stuck with a jet pack on his back, even in Pod. I would like to continue playing it and get the pack. Can you help?

Is necessary to charge this 5 euro? i mean is creat contend to promote vita and vita need promotion, but also is something new and we don’t know how is to play in this way

Are you the same ‘TheMARTatXboxKings'(or whatever it was) that is the biggest PlayStation hater off that cr*p site Don’t tell me, ‘PP’ has got a PS3 now to… 😀 😀 😀

freeman011 19 December, 2012 @ 4:15 pm   35

Hello Steven
Fantastic news Steven, will look forward to it when I get my vita in 6 days. 😉 I will defenetly buy this, when I get more money on my psn wallet I only have £2 now after getting 2 £25 psn cards for my birthday. I was desperate for money. 🙂 LongLivePlay Sony make.believe

RustySanderke 19 December, 2012 @ 4:25 pm   37

Adding cross-controller support is cool, but charging money for it is a bit distasteful.

anybody having any luck?

Just got home from work been excited to be purchasing this when I got home, gutted that I can’t get the Vita and PS3 to connect 🙁 anyone managed to solve this yet?

no luck here, some people seem to get it working by randomly trying different setups (wirless, wired, switching one machine on while the other is already connecting etc) just have a play around with it for a while, you may get lucky.

What if I tell you I am eh? 😉

I own every system pretty much of every gen, was an Atari fan once, a Sega fan, a Nintendo fan, MSX fan, even Playstation fan with PS2… The way the PS3 started was just bad. That all changed with LBP at the end of 2008, the time I bought a PS3, before that it had no use. I owned two PSP’s already before it this gen. Now a fat PS3 and a slim PS3 too. Now I hate the WiiUnderpowered hehe

So eh yes. Media Molecule and LBP ftw, they got me into PS3. Guys came from Lionhead studios which are XBOX/MS/360 developers but MS passed on LBP I guess.

On topic: just downloaded this cross controller story DLC, will try out later tonight!

I’ve been trying for two hours now and it still won’t connect. I’ve tried everything. I hope this is fixed soon.

Guys they aren’t charging much for this content. Creating such stuff costs time and money. It isn’t that much money either.

Hello JJl1991
What Sperz-35 said maybe just connect it in a way or use it in remote play or go to lbp, setting and try and connect the ps vita to the USB port on ps3. Sorry about some of my weird instructions I don’t have a vita so I don’t know but maybe try it. 😉

I don’t mind the fee for the cross controller DLC…. it takes effort, man/lady hours to create said content. But what I do expect….. is said dlc to actually work whence paid for.

Finally figured out the problem
the problem is your PSV and PS3 are in different networks, even though they are connected to the same router.
Your going have to go into the network settings of both devices, and look at the IP address , subnet mask and default gateway of both devices
and make sure that the subnet mask and default gateway are exactly the same for both devices, primary DNS should be same as default gateway to.
My ip on PS3 was 99.xx.xx.xx instead of the standard ip address,
so you may have to adjust your ip address to be 1 above , so if on Vita its
IP on ps3 should be
I had had to adjust all these settings on my PS3 and had it set as a NAT 1 before and now its NAT2
I had tried since 7pm EST for 7-8 hours, no lying, doing everything , and starting up is every possible way, soon as i changed the network settings on PS3 to be the same as VITA, it starting downloading on Vita instantly.

found this on the same post but on the US blog. may help.

I’ve managed to get it working by going into the network settings of both devices and setting the ip address to manual. Then I made sure that the subnet mask, default gateway/router, primary dns and secondary dns matched up on both devices. I then launched the game and it connected instantly. It’s now downloading the content to my vita.

oops, I see comment 46 says the same thing.

mine works now too 😀 😀 😀

Remote play works but cross-controller on LBP2 does not. Why is this? The instructions are unclear and it’s really frustrating.
