Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt DLC on PSN today

Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt

Hey there, Anthony Burch from Gearbox here! Sir Hammerlock had told me that in the past he wrote his PlayStation fans a letter, so naturally when I mentioned I was writing this blog post he jumped at the opportunity to do it for me. Sucker! He’s all book smarts.

Salutations, Vault Hunters!

Sir Hammerlock here, with a cracking proposal for you. Being the oh-so-well-armed badass you are, you’ve already saved the world, found a pirate’s treasure and spectacularly murdered your way to the top of a badass leaderboard or two.

Have you ever fought a Stalker the size of a small building? Have you ever fought a mystical shaman bandit who can level up his companions at will? Have you ever hunted down Scaylions, Boroks, Spores and Savages?

Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt

As you have not yet joined me on my excursion to the brutal continent of Aegrus, I shall pre-emptively answer on your behalf: “no, Sir Hammerlock,” you say. “I have yet to do any of these things. Pray tell – how could a no-nonsense brigand like myself experience such violent hilarity?”

Glad you asked! My Big Game Hunt starts today, 16th January. Journey with me, and you shall see things the likes of which you’ve never seen before: new vehicles, weapons, skins, heads, and environments – the lot!

You may also see a man open-mouth kissing a skag*, but, depending on the life decisions you’ve made, that may well be something you’ve already seen several times before.

Anyhow, this is Sir Hammerlock, once again reminding you: the Borderlands are waiting!

– Sir Hammerlock

*Totally not in the DLC.

Good game, but i just can’t seem to get into it yet, i guess it’s like Darksiders2, Too much loot.. other non-mission things to get in the way, for instance 1 of my TEN Brdlnds characters is lvl15, on 8400 bad ar-e points And has got All the eridium upgrades, But is Still in Sanctuary and only outside mission done is kill them 3 assassins.. I Know this game is goin to be great, i’ve seen some vids with wicked looking enemies that i can get to fight, But i can’t help but create characters just to see how much bad ars- rank i can reach, Or play stupid slot machine in Moxxis.
I was playing on a different user last week, got to sanctuary around lvl10 and decided to use the 2 golden keys.. anyway i thought, delete the profile and start again, and it gave me 11 keys, tested it and it done it again.. so somethings gone wrong there, cant do it on main user though as it doesn’t give me my full BA rank and tokens back, only half of it. Still it’s easily used if you copy profile, use new one with 11 keys then copy main profile back, guess the 1.03 update did something bad.. btw i had 1st brdrlands gamesave as well, in case it makes difference. also btw, this Isn’t a cheat, just evens out people that don’t use Facebook, imo anyway.

Cool story bro 😐

Loving Big Game Hunt so far! Really enjoying the new enemy tactics, and the focus on elemental weaponry and attacks (I play as Maya, so elemental is always good!)

@ residentSteve
Half an hour isn’t really enough time to judge Borderlands. Especially as you only start to unlock interesting abilities when you reach level 5. Granted, the first isn’t fantastic when you play alone, but its worth checking out Borderlands 2; much more story-driven, and the character abilities are really unusual.

Keep the DLC coming, I bought the season pass in the sale and will be playing everything that comes along.

PS- Borderlands is best enjoyed in co-op

I haven’t played Borderlands co-op BUT for me both the first and the second game are fantastic as a single-player aswell 🙂

Downloading all DLC now so Im looking forward to a nice weekend 🙂

Keep it up Gearbox!

@residentsteve I was the same with the first one, games too barren and characters are too few and far between to keep you interested, The second one really sorts that out though, There’s a better hub full of people, lots of characters talk to you as you progress through missions and it feels a lot less desolate, made it so much more fun this time.
