Hello everyone. It’s getting dangerously close to that time of year where we all start to count how many chocolate eggs we can eat in one sitting, and then feeling deeply unwell afterwards. So, what better way to cure that feeling than with some great games!

Now as tradition reminds us, you should have to hunt for your treats at this time of year. With that in mind, PlayStation Store is very happy to present our Egg Hunt!

Much like the 12 Deals of Christmas promotion late last year, each of these discounts will be revealed just before they go live and will last for 48 hours only, starting today, Wednesday 27th March. Make sure you keep checking the Blog for information on the next deal!

But that’s not all! At the same time as the Egg Hunt we will also be running our Spring Sale so make sure you head over to the PlayStation Store to grab yourself some bargains. These discounts will start once the store has updated on Wednesday 27th March and will run until 9th April. Enjoy!

Check back regularly to find out what the next deal will be!

NO VITA GAMES? [DELETED]?

Just keeps getting worse… Well for me atleast =(

* at least

Yet another epic fail!! Check the prices online you *****.

It’s cool we finally got a sale for something that’s not a retail title. I’d be interested in I am alive, but I don’t care for From dust, thus won’t be purchasing this bundle. They’re such different games, why would you want to bundle them together (apart that they have the same publisher)?

I should stop waiting for these offers, because they are not any good…

*Just put Demon’s Souls on sale and I’ll grab it even if it’s on small sale, because I need a kick on my back to buy it, because I have already completed it like 20 times.*

It’s okay I’d say. It would probably have fared better with separated sales, but I guess those bundles are the new hot SCEE trend.

Anyway, I just spend 3,8€ and got Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete via GOG’s awesome D&D Dynamo Stacking Promo! Couldn’t be happier. :)

So, the last offer is the From Dust/I am Alive bundle. Sadly, not interested at either game. Why forced bundles, by the way? Wouldn’t it be better if there was an option to purchase them separately, say €7 each, and €12 combined?

That’s it for me, then. I purchased not a single Egg Hunt offer (unlike Christmas). Only got Trine 2 and Child of Eden as part of the Spring Sale, both with a very good price, I can’t complain.

Out of all the Egg Hunt offers, I believe only Tomb Raider and PS All-Stars Battle Royale were worth the price. Assassin’s Creed 3 was a joke. At least if it icluded the Season Pass (every DLC, in fact) for the same price of €35, it would be more tempting.

@ PIREDERAS I think there’s still one more offer left. Lets just hope it’s worth buying…

I don’t find this egg hunt any good either. As stated by many, most games are a joke, only tomb raider could be worth it. PS battle all stars was on sale few months ago as well with 2 DLC chars avaible if you got it back then, why do it again… without DLC thus being the same price overall >_>

11

@ Roglog

If I am not mistaken, today’s offer is the last one. That’s at least what I read in the last few blog posts (comments by Fred, I think), anyway. Do not despair, there will be more offers (not to mention more PS Plus giveaways) in the future. Let’s have fun with what we already have in our hands.

Only one more “Egg” left right? Let me guess: Bundle : The Expendables 2 + Trine – SUPER LOW Price €29,99

Oh brother,
This is the worst easter egg hunt I ever seen. Sure the InFamous/KillZone HD was good but the rest were just crap. No Vita games what so ever and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale for the Vita suffered installation problems. Also, I hate forced bundles.

14

So far 1 broken Vita game in the Easter Hunt. Can you feel the love?

Yet another underwhelming (crap to you and me) sale in this Egg Hunt nonsense, a bundle of 2 PSN games that are over 2 years old, wow, it wasn’t even worth the 2 day wait to find out what the new deal was.

Note to Sony: If you’re going to make such a big deal about these stupid and impractical 12 Deals Of Christmas and Egg Hunt sales then at least have the decency to put something worthwhile on them instead of lame bundles like this. You really couldn’t be any more out of touch with your customer base than you are right now.

I Am Alive is present in almost every big sale Sony puts on for around £5 to £7, I know because I bought it last year for around that price and it wasn’t even worth it, it’s rubbish, which is probably the reason it gets shoved down our throats constantly in sales. As for From Dust, well, it’s 2 and a half years old so I’m sure it’s been in it’s fair share of sales before as well.

@hilts663
Nice idea. But I could imagine something even worse for their next sales!
They shouldn’t just force us to buy bad games too, to get those that we want. They should request us to play those bad games as well!

Finish Amy 100% to qualify for our Expendables 2 + game X sale next time. Have Fun!

If Chris should pick up that idea, I don’t want a reward in form of free Amy and Expendables 2 copies. Thank you. ;)

@ PIREDERAS Well f***
But thanks for correcting =)

Another bundle, I own one of them already so I can’t make use of this deal.

Enough with these bundles guys.

19

Well, I suppose White Witch discount’d be too much to ask for, lol.

Only Tomb Raider egg was pretty damn good deal. And I’m not going to get this egg today but thanks anyway.

20

I think the bundles just dont work, You have tried them and Im not sure what the sales for them are but I cant imagine they are what you were expecting. I think the fact the game bundled together are so diverese aswell. I mean a third person action game and an fps, Then a serious story driven third person shooter and a comedic fps designed to get cheap laughs.
Hopefully you take this feedback on board. I really enjoyed the christmas version of this but I have not bought a single game this time round.

well, only one more chance to keep disapointing us before i can feel free to spend my money on some Vita game. what a sad spring sale and what an even more sad eater egg hunt.

Offer 6: From Dust and I Am Alive bundle

“Not available in Turkey)”

LoL, why?

@RossyWilson
I imagine that they did quite well with the Journey and Unfinished Swan bundle and somehow thought that it would work out well with others games too.
That those 2 games were GOTY candidates and it did rather well for that reason in that specific case is rather obvious.

I just hope that Chris buries that crappy idea quickly again. I remember how Kellee Santiago didn’t really like that Journey had been bundled. I know that some @Take Two opposed bundling Spec Ops and yet … when SCEE had one of its marvelous ideas, they stick to it. Be it that customers and partners don’t like it, it won’t matter.

XzSlLENTSNIPERzX 06 April, 2013 @ 13:56
24

Another miss from me. PLEASE just do a PS CLASSICS sale, I beg you. My account is loads with money and a Ps Classics sale would be an excellent place to spend it.

XzSlLENTSNIPERzX 06 April, 2013 @ 13:59

“These discounts will start once the store has updated on Wednesday 27th March and will run until 9th April. Enjoy!l
So we have 1 more to go?

Winter-Dragon 06 April, 2013 @ 14:00
26

Disappointing offerings through this sale. In each of the bundles there’s been something which didn’t compliment each other thus lowering the value of the bundles and very little Vita support.

At the very least if you’re going to make bad bundles don’t limit them to a day or two as most of us would umm and ahh about it and just not buy it.

Tomb Raider was probably the only good one out of the batch, Assassin’s Creed can be purchased at either the same price or lower for a physical copy around all regions of the world.

I pray that the next time one of these sales happen it won’t be as bad.

27

I bought Playstation All Stars Battle Royal for Ps Vita, for my child’s Birthday and he actually cried for not being able to play it. I hope you are happy Sony! From now on, i will never buy a thing in Ps Store again!

supersmith2500 06 April, 2013 @ 14:34
28

@Golwar:
So wait, people at Take Two didn’t want Spec Ops to be bundled but Sony ignored them?

Come on were are waiting for good deals, like tomb raider (awesome game, thanks).

Try to negotiate deals on crysis 3, Dead Space 3, Bioshock Infinite, God of War ascension (if it’s already digital), X-com enemy unknown, Hitman Absoulution, there are so many good games to make deals.

Thanks.

Hey Chris, I wanted to buy Dead Rising: Off The Record, but the discount is not live. Shows 15€ on the store when it should be 7,5€

31

Damn iv’e wanted From Dust for awhile but i already own I am Alive (from one of the 2 sales it was on last year) If you had made FD about £5 i’d have bought it straight away. I doubt the last offer will be any good too so i’ll finally plunge into that tom clancy title with the discount.

@supersmith2500
Can’t drop any names, but even without that source it’s pretty obvious that it’s a push from SCEE’s side to use such bundles.
There haven’t really been such deals before the last holiday sales and now they are a frequent event. And they are SCEE exclusive … pretty simple to figure out that Chris actively promotes them.

Not that bundles would necessarily be bad, it’s just amateurish how it’s done here.
Take that GOG stacking promo that I mentioned previously (http://bit.ly/XhnMHn). Depending on how many games you buy or even already own, the prices will drop by 40 up 80%. That’s how you do smart and incentive driven sales.
It’s appealing for both sides if as much titles as possible are sold. And it rewards and doesn’t punish you for already being a good customer. Not to mention that it doesn’t force anyone to buy crap like DNF.

Feel free to take notes Chris. Your sales strategy could use any kind of help, seriously.

Oh and naturally SCEA also has something similar better, with it’s promos where you spend a certain amount of cash and get some back as a reward. Bundles where you are free to chose the parts. Not half as good as GOG, but still.

There are plenty of options out there, but we can trust that SCEE will remain to have the worst sales in the games industry.

supersmith2500 06 April, 2013 @ 15:37
34

@Golwar:
Have to agree with you there Golwar. I mean heck, Steam had better sales too and not to mention games get released quickly so I can’t see why the QA process is slow for the SCEE department. I mean no seriously we had to wait for 3 months for Retro City Rampage and now this game won’t be our IGC because the developer wants us to buy their game but it was on US’s IGC. Well let’s hope Bit.TRIP Runner 2, Terraria and Machinarium for Vita doesn’t suffer the same suit. Heck Nun Attack missed it’s release date. All it is it’s just same bad games all the time. Not even Sony’s own games. =(

I swear I won’t eat eggs anymore…

I am praying for a ‘DOOM Collection’ ‘eggy’ discount(HINT, HINT) :D

So only one more egg to go, a golden egg maybe?? Lets hope they left the best for last.

supersmith2500 06 April, 2013 @ 16:42
38

It better not be AMY next.

39

The vita sale was poor(same games on sale last spring)not even a single lego game then and now this sale with a tremendous amount of ps1/ps3 games and only 1 vita game. ok maybe two but PSABR i dont count since this game has been in evry single sale since its release. Very poor job scee never buying online since u guys dont even got a clue how to price ur games we bought a vita a expensive memory card only to have the same prices online as retail and some times even more expensive. sticking to retail to save me some euros and memory space. Learn to market propperly bloody …………..

Another poor offer.
Seriously, are you guys having a joke here? This entire sale has been awful. Just pull this joke of an offer and turn your game around for next time because you’re really taking the plod here. I can’t believe how silly this is. You call it a “sale” yet the prices are equal to that in a retail store – wonderful “sale”, I applaud you.

How about a Playstation (original) sale? Those games can actually receive a decent discount unlike the tripe I this sale (price-wise).

In sorry I had to resort to that but your performance is appalling. Turn yourselves around, SCEE.

41

At least there is a sale from eastasiasoft (http://www.rainbowmoongame.com/news.php?id=45), which strangely hasn’t been announced here yet. More developer sales, please! Namco Bandai next as they have Puzzle Quest; then Hudson Soft for Bomberman; then Capcom for Mega Man; and finally Pinball Arcade dlc sale. Though, I doubt this will happen anytime soon…

@ PIREDERAS – Fred said after Egg #4 there was 3 more to go. There should be 1 more left.

Good Afternoon,

I would like to share here an issue here that has really bothered me regarding the Easter-deal of yesterday.

I saw AC3 come on the store for 35 Euros, and throughout the whole day, every time I would try to make the purchase a “There has been a mistake” error would pop up. There was no error code and there was enough money on my card to pay. Also on the news something came up with all the dutch banks failing, and many of us couldn’t access their bank accounts.

To solve this, I decided to buy two 20 Euro cards to be able to buy the game this afternoon, but it got taken off before the 48 Hours I thought games were meant to be up (every 2 days).

Now I have 40 Euros I intend to do nothing with (I haven’t put the codes up on the store but I would gladly put it up and let some moderator take it out of my wallet as long as I could get the game for the sale price).

Oh, and I tried calling but they close the customer service lines on 4 PM Saturdays, I was only done with work...

I would like to know if there’s a remedy for this because I would love to spend these 40 Euros but I’d rather spend it on something worth the money.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
