Hello PlayStation Blog. I’m Artur Gosk of Mass Creation from Warsaw, Poland. As this is my first time here, ‘hello’ to everyone.

I’m here to introduce you to our first PS Vita game – Draw Slasher. From 24th April you’ll be able to put your fingers to the test in what we believe is the most dynamic drawing game ever made for PS Vita.

Draw Slasher, priced at €4.99, tells the story of Hanzo, a ninja whose family has been abducted by the Pirate Monkey Zombies™. The basic game mechanics are one of a kind and honestly, I think couldn’t be any simpler. You tap the screen to run, draw lines to indicate a slash, and pinch the screen to summon the abilities menu. Hanzo does the rest. Check out the trailer below to see for yourself.

We have prepared three game modes: Story, endless Arcade and Challenges. Story is the main mode, where the player aids Hanzo in his quest to free his family. You’ll face various opponents, go up against tricky bosses and finally find out who sent the “rottents” to kidnap Hanzo’s family. You’ll also learn very helpful upgradeable Ninjutsu Techniques, such as invisibility, electrocution or blow-up.

Arcade contains two endless modes: Survival, where player must see off as many zombies as possible with just one life bar. In the second mode you’ll play as a ‘Gatekeeper’ who must prevent Pirate Monkey Zombies™ from entering the village.

The Challenges mode was prepared for players seeking a really demanding experience. Examples include pulling off outstanding combos, surviving as long as possible, or killing many zombies in a short period of time. This mode will push players’ skills to their limits.

Draw Slasher also features hand-drawn cartoon graphics and animated cutscenes with professional voiceovers. There are Trophies and Leaderboards too, where players can compare kill counts and Arcade results.

The game’s origins reach back to 2009, when we experimented with the drawing mechanics for the first time in Draw Slasher: Dark Ninja vs Pirate Monkey Zombies™ on mobile devices. The idea was extended with Draw Slasher: The Quest in 2011. Compared to the original, Draw Slasher on PS Vita has twice as much content. We’ve redesigned the whole game, created new locations, many different opponents and bosses. The scale of the changes inspired us to rebuild the levels from scratch.

We tried very hard to make the mechanics simple to understand and entertaining at the same time. We really hope you’ll enjoy our fresh approach and post some seriously high scores.
