Worms Revolution Extreme launches PS Vita assault tomorrow

Hello again PlayStation Blog readers! Tomorrow is the day you’ve all been waiting for – Worms Revolution Extreme launches for PlayStation Vita, meaning you can now keep your Worms army mobile. You can download Worms Revolution Extreme for your PS Vita via PSN for just £11.99/€14.99!

Worms Revolution Extreme includes all the content of Worms Revolution plus the three DLC packs (Mars, Funfair and Medieval Tales) that were previously released are all included in this one, complete handheld Worms package. That makes for one extensive single player campaign including a whopping combined total of 72 missions and puzzles!

Unlock different worm classes to play as, pick from the Soldier, Scientist, Scout and Heavy and make a team of your choosing taking into account each classes’ pros and cons. Get ready for hilarious chain reactions which are enhanced by the addition of dynamic water, water weapons and exploding physics objects!

Already made lots of progress in Worms Revolution? Then take advantage of the Cross-Save functionality to carry on your save game progress on the PlayStation Vita!

There’s also a really fun multiplayer mode for up to four players which can either be played locally, pass-and-play on the same Vita, or you take your battle global as you fight against players from across the world!

Aside from the main game modes we’ve added in some really cool features which utilise some of the awesome functionality that the Vita brings. We’ve added in a new cross-gifting Treasure Mode which enables you to link up with your friends who have a PS3 system (or vice versa). Beat these 10 side objectives in either offline versus or online battles to receive a key and connect to a friend’s PlayStation 3 system with the corresponding chest to unlock the treasure!

Take advantage of the PS Vita’s touch screen controls to quickly select your weapon from the panel for swifter goes, you can also pan and zoom the camera using the touch screen, or stick to classic button controls if you prefer! We’ve also added in the option to use the rear touch pad to control your aiming reticule when taking shots at enemy invertebrates.

We hope you’ll have fun with this ultimate handheld version of Worms and we’ll hopefully see some of you out there on the online battlefield!

Why not 2D version of Worms?

My only criticism is the price. Given how many iterations of Worms there have been, I am unlikely to pay another £12 to play it again.
Had I not bought any of the previous PS3 versions of Worms, it would be great but I think most people have played / owned at least one of these in recent years.

14,99€ is really too high price. Price 9,99€ would be the appropriate.

“for your PS Vita via PSN for just £11.99/€14.99!”

Are you serious? For “just”!? You really think the price is fair? I wouldn’t pay more than €7,99 for this game so, good luck milking the game.

Wow, £11.99 for a worms game? No thanks! I can get this on my phone for much cheaper! (Not that I would, the first and last time I paid for a worms game they stopped supporting it!)

Hi azakajam,

I just wanted to say I’m sorry you’ve experienced issues with your mobile version of Worms. We do offer support on all our products, you can get in touch with the team via support@team17.com. Thanks.

Hello. Please tell me this has a play by mail feature, similar to Everybody’s Golf and Hustle Kings. If it doesn’t, please tell me why not!

Seems I should be moaning about the price, but I won’t.

Worms games always go on sale after a few months anyway, no big deal. I@ll buy this as soon as I get a Vita 2000.

hmmmm if we get the same one as the us has than i dont want it they have framerate issues

I’ll definitely read impressions before buying this. It better be flawless with not a stutter to be seen.

I don’t buy lazy efforts with frame rate issues.

Malicious Rebirth is lightyears better and yet costs €2 less than Worms. I hope this mean something to you greedy devs.

Game looks amazing! Once it comes down in price a little I’ll be there, always loved Worms games.

Should be a little bit cheaper. At least for PsPlus members.
