The Walking Dead Season Two coming to PS3 and PS Vita

The Walking Dead Season 2 on PS3 and PS Vita

This is the post The Walking Dead fans have been waiting for… Telltale is finally ready to spill the very first details on Season Two!

We can confirm today that The Walking Dead: Season Two – A Telltale Games Series continues Clementine’s story. Not only will you see Clem again, you’ll actually be PLAYING as her, struggling to outwit both the dead and the living in situations that will test your morals and shape the flow of the story through your decisions and actions.

This brand new teaser trailer sets the Season Two mood better than words possibly could…

Not familiar with Clementine? She’s a young girl orphaned at the outset of the undead apocalypse, and in Season Two, she’s now left to her own devices to seek safety and survive. Her story starts in the first season of The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series. If you want to get caught up on where it all began before playing the sequel, you can start by downloading the first episode of Season One FREE for PlayStation 3 on PSN right now!

The Walking Dead: Season Two – A Telltale Games Series will consist of five episodes that will release for digital download over the course of the season. You’ll be able to purchase episodes individually as they release for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita via PSN, or get the season pass for best value.

Will you be selling retail copies once all the episodes have been released? Or at least be planning on making the first season of the walking dead available on cartridge for ps vita?

NEVER let me wait again SO long for such an information, TellTale!

Great news I imported season 1 for Vita and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Will season 2 merge Clementine’s story with the 400 Days story?
Will you release season 2 on a cart for Vita?

I hope for a PS4 version in the future.

I will buy it then.

All I ask is that we don’t have the same debacle that was the release of the Walking Dead in the EU this time round. On-time releases are a must!!!

Can you confirm whether the Vita episodes will be released on the same dates as the PS3 versions?

I would like to know how you carry your Vita save over to Season 2 but I’m not expecting an answer as TTG have the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, if you aren’t praising them, they couldn’t care less.

Will this be a near-unplayable, stu… stu… stuttering mess on the Vita, like the first season of TWD?

You guys need new programmers, because TWD is the most technically bankrupt game I’ve played in years. And it’s such a simple game, so you have to be extra special to make it run that badly.

This is great news. Loved season one and if it wasn’t for the free episode then I would never have enjoyed it so much. Never got round to buying on the Vita as it seems pointless getting it twice. But will wait for this when all episodes are out as this would prevent a long wait until the next episode

Any chance you can make the PS3 and Vita versions have compatible saves?

I played Season One on PS3 but want to continue Season Two on the Vita.

#10 no Cross-buy or Cross-save.

So can we expect a discount on TWD for Vita similar to US?

Sounds good so far that you will be playing as Clem in Season 2. (Spoiler Alert!) Hoping we get some references to Lee and see the fate of Christa and Omid.

After TWD Season 2. Personally I’m hoping when TTG gets some free time, I hope they will port Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures and Sam & Max Save the World to PSN.

PLEASE make season 2 properly playable on the Vita – without the insane slowdowns and freezing. PLEASE… I loved the game so much but the tech issues really affected the fun. Like, a lot.

This better come to PS4…

Not months after, it should release the same time as the PS3 version.

Will the psvita version release same day as PS3 version?

Will this freeze and stutter???

Will this come with a patch for the VITA version of season 1 as a pre-order bonus?

18

Does the save to season 1 have any influence on season 2? As I’m intrested in purchase season 2 for my vita but I have the first season on my ps3.

19

Does anyone have any idea if Cross Buy/Cross Save will be added to both season 1 and 2? I have the first season + 400 Days on PS3 and would love to do another playthrough on Vita, but I don’t feel like paying again for it.

Really awkward time to release season two.

I really want to play season two, but I also really want a PS4. I don’t have a Vita so that’s not an option, plus my save from season one is on PS3. :(

Are you going to release it on PS4 at some point, and maybe have some way I could import my save from PS3 so I can continue the story as I played it? :P

Finally! :)

Spend a bit of time optimising for Vita please. Had to stop playing it it was such a mess.

Is there any news on when The Wolf Among Us will come to Vita?

Are you able to confirm a retail release for either TWAU or TWD season 2 on Vita either US (happy to import) or EU? I have season one on cart and would rather have season 2 as such as it will take a lot of memory to install every episode for both series’?

telltale have already stated before that this title is happening on ps4 as they were discussing the fact that they will have to work something out regarding continuing progress from the first game on ps3 to ps4 because of the fact ps3 saves wont work on ps4.

have these plans been shelved?

Here we go again. You ignoring us is…

Dear Laura Perusco and dear Telltale Games.
I will NOT consider buying this or any other of your games ever again because your lack of respect toward your customers is insulting at best. At E3 you promised a Vita version of the Walking Dead on par with the PS3 one. Well if you meant the stuttering you did well, it was on par with the (original) PS3 version. The fact that you are NOT planning to release a patch for the game (your official response to complaints on your forum)adds insult to injury. Seriously? Are you happy with how the game is performing? If so how dare you suggest that we should trust your new product, which is based on the same engine? So we can buy another stuttering game? No thanks. A good game does not give you the right to release broken games and say it’s fine.Add to that the fact that you don’t even offer cross-buy option and you get the picture.

I don’t understand why companies request blog posts if they can’t commit a staff member to check it a few times and reply to posters asking questions. In this day and age it makes the whole PR initiative a vastly negative one rather than positive.

Well, Telltale will most likely hit this out the park yet again, unfortunately I cannot support then further after the frustration of TWD Season 1 on my PS3, I had to play the game from episode 4 without background sound or music to ensure I could at least get the quick time events in time through all the stuttering.

What a fantastic story it was though.

I would love to throw my hard earned cash your way for “The Wolf Amongst Us”, but all reports indicate it is also a stuttering mess.

Sorry Laura but since your company apparently refused to put TWD on sale for the Vita in Europe, like they did in the US, I will not buy your games.
I’ve done the same with Persona 4 Golden and I refuse to support companies who treat Europe like peasant-ville.
We are not all hype addicted kids that go out and buy a game when it comes out. Some of us think we deserve more.

@29 If they thought Europe was peasant-ville they would be charging us less not more. They think Europe is a wealthy cow for milking but if you can’t afford £15 for TWD download, are you sure you have the right hobby?

I paid £28 to import TWD on cart and was happy with the purchase as I prefer to have everything as a retail version if possible.

I don’t understand all the children on here whining about sales in the US, we get better Plus content and it all balances out.

@arros2011

My friend, you are in no position to criticize my financial state or anybody’s for that matter. I am willing to bet that I buy more games per year than you do and for the sake of argument I will let you know that I bought WRC 4 and Batman Origins Blackgate for my Vita this month.

It is not a question of whether I can afford to buy something. It is a matter of principle. I do not like being mistreated as a customer in our global economy. I realize that capitalism works in a certain way and that companies are not obliged to give me the same value that they may give to you. It is a free economy. However, I have the right not only to vote with my wallet but to protest about it as well.

So, if you find this offensive enough to resort to name calling fellow posters as children, then I suggest that you lean back and think a bit about yourself and the reasons that make you react this way.

The first season was pretty good. Not so many real choices that affected the story however they spin it off. I am interested very much in playing season 2 and picking up Clem’s story right where we left off, but all gonna depend on the price. I read somewhere that the retail version on Us will cost 29 dollars, but I am pretty sure that won’t be the case for us Europeans. At least not with the digital version of the game through Ps store.

33

Loved Season 1, but seriously, Telltale need to get with the times.

No Cross-Buy, no Cross-Save, broken Vita version and refusing to patch?…

That is pretty shocking.

I bought and completed Season 1 + 400 Days on PS3, but now I have a Vita I’d want to play season 2 on it (provided it actually works this time).

However with no Cross-Buy/Save my progress won’t carry into season 2, so what’s the point? Also I assume it’ll give me a new set of ‘Vita only’ trophies, so my PS3 trophies will be missing the season 2 list, and the Vita trophies will be missing the season 1 / 400 days trophies?

And the solution to that is buy it and play it all twice? Not really good enough is it?

Hotline Miami, Stealth Inc and many other games feature Cross Buy + Save. There’s no excuse!

I really enjoyed the game (I voted it GOTY), but I am put off about putting money upfront again for the season pass.

Last time, the EU release got huge delays, and a lot of people were disappointed that as they looked for information on EU releases, the US gamers were posting spoilers all over the web and ruining the game for us.

Also, it’s supposedly “better value”, but shortly after all episodes were released last time, you put the full game in a sale, and it worked out cheaper than those of us who paid up front, to be disappointed by all the delays.

I will buy it, because I expect it to be a great game again, but please don’t treat the gamers in that way again!

Will there be a sale for The Walking Dead Season 1 for Vita any time soon? Played it on PS3 with a physical copy of the game and would love to play it again.
