Trine 2: Complete Story confirmed for PS4 launch, see the new trailer here

Hi everyone. I’m very happy to announce that Trine 2: Complete Story is a PS4 launch game! That was our goal and it’s been a hectic few months, but we’ve made it! Trine 2: Complete Story is now officially lined up for release on the PS4 launch day 29th November in Europe.

Here’s our new trailer to celebrate the confirmed launch:

In the trailer you’ll see some of the new skills that are available in the Complete Story version, such as the Knight’s Kitesail Shield and the Thief’s Low Gravity Arrow. There are a total of 20 levels full of adventure, with sceneries ranging from lush forests to a scorching hot desert, to the insides of a gigantic sandworm, and even isles floating in the sky.

Trine 2: Complete Story supports the DUALSHOCK 4 touch pad and it makes many elements of the gameplay very intuitive. An example of this is drawing boxes or planks with the wizard, and moving them around and interacting with the environment.

On the tech side the game runs at beautiful Full HD 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. It’s truly a sight to see, and what’s more is that we’re also one of the few games at launch with stereoscopic 3D support. So remember to fire up your 3D TVs, put on your glasses and enjoy the visual splendor. 🙂

Trine 2: Complete Story launches on 29th November in Europe. Thanks to everyone supporting us and I hope you enjoy our game! Umm you do know that the PS4 has NO 3D capability at launch? Sony not send you the memo? Kinda sucks…

Any discount for those of us who have it on PS3 already??

Looks great by the way.

Cross-buy? Alrdy own T2 on PS3.

The PS4 does have the ability to play games in 3D at launch. You are right though that it isn’t able to play Blu-ray films.

Cheers for the clarification. Seems like an odd decision on Sony’s part!?

This looks AWESOME! Have to add this as a day one purcahse!

Great news

It will be my first purchase on the PS4.

Why would I buy it if I already own Trine 2? What’s the point?

Err Voodoo341 no one is forcing you to buy it or anything. If you all ready have it thats great. But no everyone has played Trine 2 you know.

This was probably one of the best looking games of current gen, can’t wait to see it on PS4!

What resolution will this be at in 3D does it keep up at 1080 or does it drop?

I don’t want a discount. I want the DLC on PS3!

Joel from developer Frozenbyte here. Answering a few questions:

Cross Buy reply that I wrote on the US Blog: Sadly we can’t support Cross Buy due to some issues on the backend (we’re self-publishing Trine 2: Complete Story on PS4, whereas we had a publisher on the PS3 version – and the PS3 version sadly doesn’t have the Goblin Menace expansion campaign or any of our recent gameplay updates).

@11 AbandonedTrolley as per the current HDMI standards, the PS4 will output 720p60 in 3D. However, the game itself is still rendering at 1080p60 internally, and when the technology and standards improve, we should be able to support 1080p60 in 3D too. It may or may not require a small update on our part, we don’t really know yet. We’re hopeful that this will happen eventually. 🙂

@12 Ryusennin I’ve just replied on the US Blog to the same question, I hope that “helps”… sorry!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We can’t wait for the European launch ourselves either! 🙂

remote play?

absolutely pointless bringing this to the PS4 and smacks of desperation to get games on the system regardless of what they are. PS4 has a terrible launch line up.

thats your opinion an thats all it is one opinion ,my opinion is there pretty decent for launch games, why come here an spout negative comments constantly,

So not even a discount for previous owners…

You wrote that on the US Blog…

FrozenbyteGames 17 November, 2013 @ 10:27 pm   18

@14 dylanwiggan Yes the game supports Remote Play (however the controls are not super good, we’ll try to address that in a patch but it may take some time).

@17 Klart Yeah we couldn’t do a discount for the US launch. We wanted to but it just wasn’t possible… However we’ll announce some European launch details closer to the day, let’s continue the discussion then… Fingers crossed for some good news, maybe we can do something small in Europe. 🙂

I bought this game on launch day. It is amazing in 3d! If you have a 3d tv and a ps4 buy it you won’t regret it. And it is only £10! Just need a 3d patch for Resogun now!
