Fiendish platformer Console Saga available now on PS Mobile

Hi PlayStation Blog, my name is Thomas Hopper and I’m a solo independent game developer. I began making games just over a year ago, since then I’ve released 12 games for PlayStation Mobile.

Everyone* here at TACS Games is beyond excited to tell you that our* brand new hardcore-retro-action-platform game ‘Console Saga‘ has just been released on PlayStation Mobile. Before you rush off to download it onto your PlayStation Vita and/or supported mobile device, let me tell you a bit more about it.
If you’ve played any of my other games it will be clear that I have a great love of classic gaming. Console Saga came from a desire to make a game with both retro and modern elements. The music and sound effects are a mixture of retro and modern synth sounds. The graphics are part pixel art and part 3D rendered. The level designs are classic styles while the swinging mechanic is a modern take on classic platforming. It’s still very retro at heart, a simple concept that’s quick to grasp but takes skill to master.

Console Saga tells the story of a classic portable games console, brought back to life by green space radiation. This same radiation is responsible for corrupting all classic games so it’s up to you to travel inside each game and clear them of corruption.
You’ll need to master several skills to navigate these dangerous corrupted games, the most important of which is the Grapple Beam. Swing over gaps, reach hidden areas and use your momentum to find shortcuts and secrets.

Each level is themed after an era of classic video gaming and is packed with monsters and collectables. When you’ve beaten all the levels (and the 4 giant 3D bosses) you can try your hand at the random-challenge level-generator and share your favourite levels with friends by exchanging the SECRET LEVEL CODES and see who can beat them the fastest.
