New inFAMOUS Second Son video shows ‘evil’ mission playthrough

Which path will you take when Delsin Rowe lands on PS4 later this month?

There’s a hushed excitement at Sucker Punch as we approach our launch date. We’ve been working on Second Son for almost three years now, and in seven more days we’ll finally be able to put it into your hands. Several of our team members are travelling around the world sharing our latest gameplay demo with press and fans, and today we get to show you a mission playthrough from that build.

Like the previous games in the inFAMOUS series, Second Son gives you the option to use your powers heroically or ruthlessly. The path you choose will affect every aspect of the game, from character relationships to powers development to the story itself. In this playthrough, Delsin has convinced Fetch Walker, a Conduit with the power to control neon, to help him take out a group of anti-Conduit protesters. With Delsin’s influence, Fetch is willing to exterminate the “haters” and anyone else who gets in their way.

For players who choose the ruthless path, combat is fast, explosive, and lethal. Restraint is unnecessary. The faster you can obliterate your enemies, the sooner you’ll gain access to your strongest powers, and it doesn’t matter who gets hurt along the way. For those who choose to be heroic, combat is about accuracy and precision. Explosions are great, but civilian casualties are not. Your rewards will come from helping citizens and from using your abilities to capture enemies alive. The standards are higher, but for those who want to be a hero, that’s exactly the point.

In less than a week, the choice will be in your hands. Will you embrace responsibility to become the city’s saviour, or will you unleash your wrath on everyone, regardless of the consequences? We know that either way, you’re going to have a great time. You have until 21st March to decide. :)

Digital price ???

Looks nice and fun but dialog feels completely detached from action. Guy is running full speed and trashing enemies around while having calm and polite conversation with the chick at the same time

And what time will this hit the ps store? hopefully midnight

Digital price? Also I’ve seen this in the store, so will the digital version in the store be the limited edition?

**I mean the special edition, the game with the DLC

okay iv gotta moan a bit here , firstly the visuals are insanely good great job on that . now for the love of all things holy please re-work the sound it seem’s like listening too the game through a conch shell, absolutely horrible sound engineering i hope this can get fixed.

With dowloads of 25~30Gb they should let pre-order “DAY 1 DIGITAL” games and pre-download them.

Got mine pre ordered on the us store, this last week of waiting will drag like crazy lol

I can’t wait to put my hands on second son, will there be midnight launch for this?

Pre-Order Bonus

Same thing ever inFamous post has had comments about.

The PS3 does preloading, and the US PSN store does it on PS4 so why not here.

Looks amazing so far, can’t say I like the HUD though. Looks pretty cheap.

Unfortunately Fred didn’t come back to the last Infamous post to answer some question so I try it again.
Is the EU version censored?
I’m sure to pick up the game (from a EU or US store) if I can get a PS4 before it gets released.

I have never really been a big fan of infamous hopefully this game is good, I have not used my ps4 for gaming since New Year’s Day.

At last some real next gen game.I hope…

Looks great, love the effects and lightning. But is there no aiming down sight? Combat looks less engaging with just a crosshair in the middle of the screen..

Can’t wait to get my hands on this game! Not watching any videos though. Want to experience it all first hand :)

I will play evil on my first play through and swith to hero on the second play trough. It’s what I did for Infamous and Infamous 2 so I’ll keep the tradition going :)

Yeh game looks amazing, pre ordered it,the hud looks cheap,im sure its just a placeholder, finished retail product will look different,i hope lol

Number9dream68 14 March, 2014 @ 11:24

Sorry stonethrow just noticed your comment,no offence how can he aim down sights, the power comes out his body not a gun.

First of all..aiming down the sights is unecessary in a game like this. can actually do it, if you want’s been seen in gameplay. So, it’s there if you “need” it.

aside from that..still waiting on pricing information for digital versions…

I can’t wait until they release the soundtrack as well!

Number9dream68 I mean in the way that it switches to an over the shoulder view and zooms in a little.. The previous games both had this but I haven’t seen it on this one.. Hasn’t been a lot of footage but unless the people playing it always ‘shoot from the hip’ , I’m starting to worry it isn’t in there at all, to keep it easier on the framerate or whatever reason.. TPS with no ADS is just awkward, reminds me of games with horrible controls like Crackdown or Saint’s row 2.

I also read there’s no more “cable grinding’ :(

The HUD isn’t a placeholder unfortunately. The game releases next week and it’s already gone gold, so disks have already been printed with the build code.

@Stonesthrow i already told you it’s in the game, have you not seen footage of the Fetch mission? There’s zoom×349.jpg
it’s on L2

When is this going to be available for pre order on the SEN stores. Will there be any pre order bonus’ etc.
Really can’t wait for this game! It can’t come some enough. Thank you Sucker punch for releasing what i’m sure will be a butt load of fun at a time that we PS4 owners need it most. :-)

I pre-ordered this 6 months ago, when I ordered the PS4. To say I’m excited about it would be an understatement. The story looks involving but that’s not what I love about this series. It’s the freedom to thrash about and vent frustration with explosive rage.

Friday cannot come soon enough…

Brako_Version_5 15 March, 2014 @ 13:33

It will be a shiny game.

By that I mean it will/does look good, but being that its made my SuckerPunch, that usually means it will suffer repetitive gameplay after the first 3 levels, and suffer any decent storyline which they mess up right at the end as well.

Number9dream68 15 March, 2014 @ 20:26

Thanks max, thats disappointing, saying that i just watched a stream on twitch,an yeh i know i shouldn’t have, the hud looks slightly better than the videos ive seen so far,an the graphics, oh the graphics, amazing, anyway i switched off after 20secs,dont want to spoil friday for me.

I can’t belive with only five days remaining we don’t even know the digital price of the game and if the digital version will be the Special Edition and come with the Cole’s Legacy DLC…

We close the comments for posts after 30 days.
