Futuridium EP Deluxe confirmed for PS4

Lightning fast space shooter will be Cross Buy with PS Vita version

Just a little over a month ago we announced that our first game, the crazy fast-and-colourful space shooter Futuridium, was coming to PS Vita in an all-new, exclusive, greatly enhanced and expanded version titled Futuridium EP Deluxe.

And what was one of the first reaction we received from our dear PS Blog readers? Wait for it…

Duly noted. We just couldn’t ignore such heartfelt appeals and so after some helps from the amazing European Third Party Relations guys at Sony and some wizardry (read: programming and boring stuff) we can now announce that… Futuridium EP Deluxe is coming to PlayStation 4. See above for a little gameplay preview from the ‘big console’ version.

For the readers that are not familiar with the game, Futuridium EP Deluxe is a fast old school 3D space shooter inspired mainly by the 8bit classic Uridium, with an added hint of Zaxxon, all shaken up in low poly 3D graphics, topped by a ton of full screen post processing effects and served ice cold for your cube blasting pleasure.

As a lone starship pilot lost in a dimensional loop, with a depleting energy bar, you’ll encounter endless waves of giant space dreadnoughts.

Your only hope? Destroy the blue energy cubes on them to refill your tank and expose the main power core, which must be destroyed to move on to the next ship.

Your only weapons? Your skill as a pilot and the amazing speed of your starship, with the added ability to turn 180° on the spot at the press of a button.

Your mission? Rack up as many points as possible, aiming for the top of the different leaderboards of course! And to do so you must really hone your reflexes and master the nuances of Futuridium’s score system, based on multipliers and frantic cube chaining.

While we’re still not ready to uncover all the new stuff we’re adding to the game – you’ll need to wait for another PS Blog post for that – you can already have a glimpse of some new features in the new gameplay trailer.

Turbo zones? Check. New enemies? Check. Teleport portals? Check!

And about the PlayStation 4 version, here’s what you can expect:

  • 1080p with glorious 60fps action
  • Even more dazzling graphical effects thanks to the added PS4 power
  • Leaderboards shared with the PSVita version
  • Cool DualShock 4 features
  • Full sharing support so you can stream your best run
  • Simultaneous PSVita / PS4 release
  • Cross Buy (we know you love that!)

Unfortunately we still can’t share a definitive release date. As a small indie team it’s difficult to give an exact date, but we’re truly aiming for “soon, really soon” and we can confirm that Futuridium EP Deluxe is a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita exclusive.

Again thanks for your attention, we’ll share more and more info about our games here on the PlayStation Blog in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, you can follow us on Twitter, like us on Facebook, read our blog and visit our website to read more about Futuridium EP Deluxe and our action adventure forma.8, also coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita by the end of the year.

A lot of respect for this decision. Nice one, MixedBag!

Thanks! :)

why deleted comment?

Really? You can’t figure it out? You know there are plenty of the big budget games coming too. Don’t worry your little head. Of course if you really liked gaming you would take a lot of the indie titles more seriously. I am sure a new Call of Duty and Fifa is in your future! Enjoy.

looks great
reminds me of Space Roads (that game was awesome back in the day ! )

Hi guys!
For any question… I’m here! :)

this really looks to have improved since the Vita reveal.
Was keeping a close eye on the game after that, but this trailer makes the game look even better.
This is getting as close to a day one buy as I get.
Congratulations on creating such a great looking experience with your first game and hope to see the final product soon

Thanks Raduga, too kind!

Graphics improved a lot since the first reveal, the game is still work in progress so you can expect even more bells and whistles.

Gameplay wise we’ve still a TON of features to unveil. ;)
