New on PlayStation Store: LEGO The Hobbit, Football Manager Classic, more

The Wolf Among Us, Strike Suit Zero and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure also out

First up this week, LEGO The Hobbit. Follow the tale of Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf and a merry bunch of dwarves, and play out your favourite scenes from the movies on PS3, PS4 and PS Vita this Friday.

The third episode of The Wolf Among Us also drops this week. After discovering damning evidence at a bloody crime scene, Bigby is just steps behind the prime suspect of a horrific murder, but he’s not the only one – other forces in Fabletown will stop at nothing to protect their interests. If you have yet to get the previous episodes then consider the Season Pass that is on sale today.

Now, I don’t know much about Football Manager but I do know people who go into hermit mode for it. Football Manager Classic 2014 is out this week on PS Vita and has cross-save compatibility with PC (FMC mode).

Also starting today is the Easter Sale, with savings of up to 60% to be had across PS3 and PS Vita titles such as Batman: Arkham City, OlliOlli, TxK and lots more.

When is Pier Solar HD due?
Also can we get a sale on the 2 PSP Cladun games and No Heroes allowed please?

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 14:39

Haven’t got a release date yet, but I imagine there’ll be a separate post once there’s more info to share. Looking forward to it myself :)

No promises on the sales but I’ll add it to my list.

ShogunDarius 09 April, 2014 @ 14:52

Once again the store prices are a joke. Why does the PS4 have no demos? What happened to try before you buy?

SpiderMike_X 09 April, 2014 @ 14:51

That’s a question for the developers. Sony can’t control whether they provide limited access or not, via demo/trial.

Yep. Prices need to get competitive, and fast, otherwise nobody is going to be moving away from physical copies any time soon.

At least the latest Easter sale is pretty cool.

No sorry but it’s a question for Sony and SCEE! What happened to the try all games before you buy them promise when the PS4 was announced?…… the silence is deafening

crimsonidol-de 09 April, 2014 @ 14:39

Will the deal of the week come as a separate post?

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 14:41

We’ll be resuming deal of the week after the Easter Sale period ends :)

crimsonidol-de 09 April, 2014 @ 14:45

Thanks for the quick reply. :)

theo_andravida 09 April, 2014 @ 15:25

Why is that?
At least try to do what you should you would!
Add a ps3 AND a ps vita title on deal of the week!
Will you consider adding ACIII on deal of the week for vita? :)

Any news on the God of War: Ascension DLC offers?

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 14:46

In the next couple of weeks – we’re working on it :)

Weeks? But… how… what…

Ah, forget it. Sony’s pulling a Sony.

How much is Final Fantasy XIV on PS4? Very interested!! The beta was great!

Cheapest way to get FFXIV is to go the PS3 version + free upgrade route. Assuming you have a PS3 available as you need to have installed it and activated it on there first. Given the PS3 version is available for <£8 and it gets you exactly the same thing as the PS4 regular version it's a no brainer.

So next week Sly Trilogy for Vita, is that right?

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 15:45

Yep :)

theo_andravida 09 April, 2014 @ 16:06

Really? Is it coming next week?I didnt know that!

Thanks guys you’re great.

BusterWolf69 09 April, 2014 @ 14:43

Any news about Ragnarok Odyssey Ace for PS3 / PSV launch in Europe?

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 15:47

I haven’t got a confirmed date but it should be in the next few weeks. Hopefully a confirmed date will be announced quite soon.

Seeing ‘The Last of Us Remastered’ for the PS4 on the Playstation Store, although it does not lead to a page – any word on when we can expect to hear more on that, I’m assuming it can’t be too far off now ?

PiccoroDaimaoh 09 April, 2014 @ 14:47

Sonic Unleashed finally on the store, nice! It was getting hard to find at retail here.
And Jojo demo, let’s go! :)

That Lego Hobbit PS4 price….

Strike Suit Zero not available in Portugal? What? Why?

Realy, Why?? We don´t used to have “Not Available” games in Portugal ?? Why Strike Suit Zero, what´s wrong with it ???

TeddyBearTwinkle 09 April, 2014 @ 14:48

£50 for games on ps4 TOTAL RIP OFF only braindead zombies would pay £50 or more for ps4 games DISCUSTING

all ps4 games should be same price as ps3 games what a total rip off & if anyone is thinking of buying OCTODAD do not buy it it only has 5 levels in the game

Surely the UK price must be a Mistake? The Lego movie cost: £44.99/€59.99 when it was released.

Ground Zeroes only had one level and it cost a lot more than Octodad will though, just to offer a bit of perspective.

Heard a lot of good things about Octodad, so I’ll probably give it a try.

~£10-12 for Octodad isn’t bad at all imo, it’s a nice little concept that lots of people will enjoy

MGS V:GZ had 5 missions, and I managed to get 10 hrs out of it… lots of replayability with it

Is it just me, or is the following DLC for DYNASTY WARRIORS 8: Xtreme Legends and DYNASTY WARRIORS 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition not yet available in the Dutch PlayStation Store? I can’t find it. It was supposed to be released last week. I really want this content and was hoping to be able to download it today, at least. Hope you can provide me and other people who are interested in this content with an answer. Thanks!

These have been cancelled for release for the time being. I haven’t got a new date to share at the moment, sorry.

SpiderMike_X 09 April, 2014 @ 14:49

Yikes, Sauron himself must have come up with that PS4 price for The Hobbit. No one in their right minds would want to pay that much over the PS3 copy, surely?

£12 for touched up textures and 1080p?

Not with the Torch of Gondor would I touch that.

SpiderMike_X 09 April, 2014 @ 14:53

Sorry, £15 for touched up textures and 1080p

TeddyBearTwinkle 09 April, 2014 @ 14:49

Ants_Pai only a brainless zombie fool will pay £50 or more for that boring game on ps4 all ps4 games are too expensive thats why i buy them on the pc for £20 or less (i have my sources aka steam website) :D

gixxerman599 09 April, 2014 @ 14:50

why is the ps4 version of the lego game £15 more than the ps3? when it’s the same game!

SpiderMike_X 09 April, 2014 @ 14:54

My Question: Are we going to have any savings on PS1 titles anytime soon? I just got a Vita and can’t wait to play the classic Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon games. I know Crash 1 was reduced a few weeks ago, but I’m eager to play the rest of them :D

Wow that extra £15 for the PS4 version of Lego Hobbit is a bit extreme, it’s the same game right? Just slightly prettier?

Are we getting P4 as a PS2 classic like in America??

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:35

No plans for EU unfortunately :(

I wouldn’t hold your breathe, you’ll either be waiting months or it’ll never come. Just create a US account, its easy to do so and add funds.

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:35

The blog post on the Easter sale says Sorcery Saga: curse of the curry God is £14:99,but it’s £26:99 on the store,a reduction of only £3. Which one is the mistake?

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:36

It should be updated now with the PS Plus discount, too.

It’s free to download anyways

PS4 game prices are absolutely pathetic…back in the PS1 days, you could get a brand new just released game for about €30, now they’re charging at least double that for them digitally.

Nice to see another anime game brought over (Jojo) so I’ll try it.

I’m into Naruto Shippuden, Dragon Ball & Z and Attack on Titan mostly.

Also Jawad, do you know whether TMNT: Out of the Shadows will be coming out next week? The developer said it would

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:38

TMNT is indeed out next week according to my schedule.

Definitely with you on the JoJo front. More JoJo is always a fabulous thing.

>Strike Suit Zero
>Not available in Russia

make an UK account?

where is the dynasty warriors eight extreme legends dlc for vita from last week? it still isn’t on.

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:40

The DLC was cancelled. I don’t have any more info yet, sorry.

Strike Suit Zero :-) Woot

Also, SSX On Tour is listed on the store but unavailable to buy… any reason, would like a snowboarding game on my Vita.

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:40

I’ll check into SSX.

Jawad Ashraf 10 April, 2014 @ 09:49

Fixed :)

Forgot to mention I’ll be snagging TWAU episode 3.

I’ll treat myself to it Friday evening/Saturday once I have the weekend off work.

Hi Jawad,

Any update on Jacob Jones episode 2 for vita ?
Its been almost a year since episode 1 was launched and we’ve not heard anything apart from a possible Q1 2014 release

thanks :)

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:43

Sadly not. I’m in the dark with this one, too.

crimsonidol-de 09 April, 2014 @ 17:15

Lucid Games are doing the final pieces of the second episode, so we might hear something about little JJ soon:

(I’m also quite excited about it :D )

Highbury4ever 09 April, 2014 @ 15:19

Totally of topic here, when I send messages from my ps4 it comes up Sent 5 mins ago straight away, does anyone else notice this or is it ps4? If any of the store team have an answer could u let me know thanx

MesozoicPrinny 09 April, 2014 @ 15:24

Date for Minecraft on the Vita?

Final fantasy a real reborn is a free download on ps4, and £8 a month to subscribe

Free only if you have the ps3 version, unless I am mistaken ofc.

The client is free, which you need to launch the game. The game itself is only free through the upgrade program. Its not free for people without the PS3 version. Better to check on Square-Enix site for the correct info.

on the us psn store it says the game is free as long as you subscribe

Any idea when Child of Light will be available for pre-order? US got it in their update yesterday for 14,99 $. Which price can we expect in europe?

you can pre order the physical collectors edition.

only about £5 more

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:45

At the moment there aren’t plans to have it on pre-order for PS3/PS4 in EU. Price is TBC but around the same amount is likely.

Thanks. I know about the physical Deluxe edition and will probably order it. Just curious. ;)

Maybe if there would be more than 5€ difference I would reconsider buying it directly from the PSN.

Hi Jaward. It is a pretty decent update today with a spread of content across all platforms and a pretty good Easter sale!

However, I was just wondering if there is any chance of the Gex trilogy on the PS1 Classics range being put on sale again? I missed out on them the last time they were on sale and I have not saw them on sale since August 14th 2012. Also, is there any chance of having a price reduction on Sumioni: Demon Arts as I don’t believe it has ever been on sale on the European PlayStation Store, but it has been on sale on the American PlayStation Store quite regularly?

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:47

They’re on my list, so it’s possible they may be on offer in the future some time.

MidniteThunder0 09 April, 2014 @ 15:28

Any news on the cell damage HD release date?

Only one must buy game on this week – Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut, not available in Russia. :(

why are you whinning? make uk account, buy it, download it, play on your russian for trophies, where is the problem?

Since we got Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Tag Force 5 a few weeks back, can we finally expect Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Decade Duels Plus? It’s been out for ages in the US Store. Can you, please, check with Konami?
Thank you.

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:50

Not that I’m aware of, but there may be something Yu-Gi-Oh! related soon (strong maybe!)

Wait, what ? Is it Vita compatible ?

X-_Mattyy_-X 11 April, 2014 @ 13:09

Konami has already confirmed that the new Yu-Gi-Oh Millennium Duels that was released the other week on XBLA will be coming to PSN just didnt say what country and when. Hopefully its some time soon EU needs a Yu-Gi-Oh game for the Playstation we missed out on Decade Duels Plus. Its the only game i miss from my Xbox since i swapped to the Playstation.

Hey Jawad, thanks for the store update.

Will Lego: The Hobbit be getting a demo on the PS4? Thanks! :)

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:51

No plans yet. The LEGO Movie did receive one later, so this may follow that. Keep an eye on the weekly updates to see if it happens :)

@Jawad: Several weeks for GoW DLC discounts? When can we expect some decent people running the european stores? I want to be able to buy digital games on release and discounted items when they should be discounted, not several weeks after, or even worse, never. Its the same mess every week.

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:52

We didn’t run the discounts at the same time due to our own EU business decisions. We will still have them here, though. Quite possibly even next week.

How is “screw Europe” a business decision?

@Jawad: And Toukiden DLC is a business decision also? Besides that, the GoW DLC Discount post on this Blog ( the EU Blog ) mentioned the same week as the US, or was that copy/pasted again? Ow wait, according to Fred that doesnt happen so that cant be it.

How come you have added Toukiden DLC 8, 9 and 10 but 6 and 7 is still missing?

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 15:49

There are technical issues that are still being resolved unfortunately. They will be rescheduled once the issue has been resolved. Sorry for the wait.

beardyweirdy 09 April, 2014 @ 15:51

Are demon gaze and starlight inception still planned for this month

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:53

As far as I know :)

You can get the PS4 version of The Hobbit for £39.99 from Amazon and free delivery. Surely it has to be as cheap or even cheaper as a digital download. Someone is lining their pockets with the extra £15. Where is your mask, hooped jumper and swag-bag Sony?

this is always the case…i always prefer disk, to sell it later……price on store must be at least 1/3 or 1/2 lower so i buy it.

Obi_G_Kenobi 09 April, 2014 @ 16:02

there was rumour that there was going to be a discount or something for everyone that got stealth inc on ps3 / vita to upgrade to ps4. what happened to this? did i miss it?

Jawad : no lego hobbit demo for ps3??

Jawad, now that The LEGO Movie Videogame is officially out in Australia, will the Wild West DLC now be available on PS3 and PS4???

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:55

Not for a few weeks at least but definitely coming.

Does this update is fixing Hotline Miami Patch for Polish users?

I strongly advise anyone to not buy any retail release PS4 titles from the PS Store until pricing is set at a more reasonable level. Digital pricing should never be higher than retail at launch under any circumstances. Some publishers seem to understand this to a degree with regard to Vita digital pricing but none of them seem to be prepared to charge reasonable prices with PS4 digital retail releases. It’s incredibly frustrating and kind of insulting to be honest.

I love the LEGO games but no WAY they are ever worth £54.99.

£15 more because its on PS4 instead of PS3, yet its only£20.69 for the game on Steam right now?

I don’t normally compare PC to console prices because I know the costs are different (console games offset the price of the console) but its getting pretty ridiculous now. The difference is way too much.

What is the news on Skullgirls Encore? We still dont have it in Sweden, They said it would only be a few days but hell we have been waiting for almost a month now…

Jawad Ashraf 09 April, 2014 @ 16:57

Additional territories (Sweden included) are planned to go live next week currently.

Hey Jawad, thanks for the response to my question above.

I suppose it’s not your department, but any chance we can get some announcement of when the PS4 1.70 update will be out soon? It’s been weeks since it was announced and we’re all getting antsy! :P

Jawad Ashraf 10 April, 2014 @ 09:52

Sadly I don’t have any shareable info. Keep up with the blog as we are likely to have a separate post for it.
