PS Vita JRPG Conception II launches today

Check out the new launch trailer for Atlus’ quirky adventure

Your Star Children are waiting for you! Conception II, its unique combat positioning (not to mention the army of Star God-powered, pint-sized warriors) is out today across Europe for the PlayStation Vita. The dungeon crawler/social sim hybrid puts you into the role of “God’s Gift” – a teenager bestowed with unprecedented amounts of power from the Star God. As a disciple, you’re tasked with saving the world of Aterra by pairing up with one of the game’s seven heroines and clearing out infestations of monsters.

Making Star Children is a core part of the game’s combat. Through a magical ritual with the heroines, you create the mini-warriors, and you can bring up to three groups of three Star Children with you into battle. But to access all 30 classes of Star Children to choose, you’ll not only have to level up each heroine’s stats, you’ll also have to be mindful of their mood through careful dialogue maneuvering. But there are only so many hours in the day, so spend your time wisely!

Even if you’re planning to get the game, you should start with the demo first! Your progress transfers over to the full version of the game, and you’ll receive starting gifts of some strong in-game items.

Conception II is around 40-60 hours to complete the main story and sidequests (depending on how grind-heavy you get), so make sure you charge your Vita often! There’s also DLC (both free and paid) that adds new quests, beneficial items, and even an encounter with one of the most fiendish villains of all, Monokuma! (Spike Chunsoft’s adorably abominable antagonist from Danganronpa) Check out the launch trailer above!
