Uncharted 4 first interview: Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann speak

Learn more about their plans for one of 2015’s most anticipated games

Last night’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End trailer (which ran on PS4 hardware, by the way) closed the PlayStation E3 2014 Press Conference with a bang. To get further insight into what Naughty Dog is planning for Nathan Drake, I sat down with Creative Director Neil Druckmann and Game Director Bruce Straley, who famously catapulted last year’s The Last of Us to more than 200 Game of the Year Awards.

But Straley and Druckmann are no strangers to the Uncharted series, having played key roles in both Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Watch the video below to learn more about their plans for one of 2015’s most anticipated games.

Great to hear them both so enthusiastic about being back on Uncharted! (P.S. is the Last Of Us Remastered on the show floor at E3?)

I guess so. They announced the release date along with a trailer in the show.

I was hoping for some kind of “summary of changes” video like the one the Tomb Raider guys did – that was pretty cool. Looks unlikely now though..

Crow’s Feet ftw. :)

Can’t wait to see more about this game. Seeing the face muscles move in Drake’s face was just amazing.
Looks like these guys learned a lot about story telling and gameplay, sometimes in Uncharted it was a bit disconnected but never a concern. But I guess this is going to be a step up.

No chance of a Vita version then?

Where is everyone gone?.. no posters, no staff posts, is there something going on, got radio4 on so know nothing important (serious) is occurring, very unnerving all this quite.. on topic i am really ,, … looking forwards till i can play this, going to be mind exploding, just feel it in my bones.

Eerily quiet in the comments section, the trolls must have gone to E3 :D

I need to see a little more footage, as gobsmacked as I am, I didn’t think the PS4 was capable of such graphical fidelity, I know it’s “in-engine” but I wanna see some “in-game” stuff, these are possibly the best graphics I have ever seen, I wouldn’t mind seeing a little bit of in game footage though. Oh and Naughty Dog are the GOAT, they’ve never let me down in the past, I know they won’t do it in the future.

Looks really promising indeed.

Uncharted 4 was what I was waiting to see through the whole conference :)
