New VizionEck trailer shows off gameplay

Take a closer look at the unusual PS4 first person shooter

I am Michael Armbrust, the creator of VizionEck: a first-person shooter unlike any other. I’ve hinted aspects of the game, but now it’s time to wipe away the mystery. I’m here today to reveal all and premiere the gameplay video.

VizionEck is a competitive first-person shooter, but its core mechanics have been rebuilt from the ground up. Spawning is different, weapons are different, cover is different, etc. This new and innovative gameplay is centred around VizionEck’s art-style.

These cubes and mathematically exact outlines provide incredibly deep and competitive mechanics. Every situation can be approached in multiple ways, with no inherently bad choices. Destroying enemies and surviving is generally good, but in VizionEck nothing is black and white. Even self-destruction has positive outcomes depending on the player’s circumstances.

What you just witnessed was the beginning a 1V1V1V1 “Ranger VS Ranger” match. A detailed explanation of these mechanics and more can be found on VizionEck’s gameplay page.

Also as stated at the end of the video, I’m happy to announce that VizionEck will be releasing exclusively on PlayStation 4 towards the end of 2014. In the meantime, you can follow @VizionEck on Twitter, like VizionEck on Facebook, add VizionEck on Google+, etc. In addition you can check out our website and discuss the game on our forum. I’ll be checking and updating these sites as development continues.

As a closing remark, I’d like to invite you to post any questions you have. I’m here to answer all of them.

Think I’ll keep waiting for SuperIcon’s Vektor Wars on the Vita… proper old-school shooting.

so you play as a cube and attack with visual effects?

im gonna hide with a bunch of cubes waiting for people to pass then BAM!

also any idea of a price not specific (as i imagine you can’t say) but a range like £5-£10 £10-15 ect

I do not believe there is any price yet set for the game as its still to be determined but £10-15 sounds about right as the developer mentioned else where probably around $20 and the SP campaign is supposed to have a lot of content as well. It plays differently but it is in the same universe as the MP

That sounds like a fun strategy.

The price is not something we’re worried about at the moment. Making the game is our top priority.

Closer to release we’ll determine what’s fair. Also as m4dDmUdD said, VizionEck has a lot of content. Right now I’m inclined to think the price will around the £10-15 range.

Is there any single-player content?

There is a single player campaign that has different mechanics than multiplayer and I think is more platformer style game play

“Open-world, story-based, first-person, puzzle-platformer, single-player campaign.”

Since it’s story based, I feel it’s beneficial for players to start the experience with minimal prior knowledge.

Up until release all marketing will focus on multiplayer, but I have no problem admitting the sp campaign exists or giving out spoiler free information about it.

Open-world? I’m a little confused and very intrigued. I’ll definitely keep my eyes on this game. :D

Vita version?

I am personally a huge fan of my Vita, so a Vita version is something I’d like to see.

However right now only the PS4 version is planned.

-Michael Armbrust

Vita version is not currently in development, but is a stretch goal depending on how well the ps4 release goes from what I understand

looks super interesting. i love that ‘blood’ effect

I think that was actually a self destruction that can take out nearby enemies

The ‘blood’ effect is exclusive to red cubes. White, green, and blue cubes have their own unique effects.
