The Walking Dead: Season Two, Episode 4 release date confirmed

Amid the Ruins arrives on PS3 and PS Vita next week

Today we’d like to share the release date for Amid the Ruins, the next instalment in The Walking Dead: Season Two. Just a word of warning to those who haven’t yet caught up on the season so far: there be SPOILERS here!

This episode picks up right where Episode 3 left off. After escaping Carver’s camp, the group now faces immediate danger in the dead centre of a walker horde. Walkers aren’t the only threat to Clem’s safety, though. The group is beginning to fracture under the pressures of survival in an unforgiving world, and as they search for new shelter, it becomes apparent that the living may be just as dangerous as the dead…

Episode 4: Amid the Ruins will be available for download on both PS3 and PS Vita on Wednesday 23rd July. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Hello Laura. One of the best game series! But spanish subtitles and custom soundtrack would be nice like season1! Glad we get ep4 soon :)

This is a stupid game with bad graphics. A nail in Vita’s coffih. R.I.P. Vita ASAP:)!

Season2 on par with the first, epic, emotional, season.
Can’t wait to play it next week. And thanks again for the discounted ps3 season pass.

Excellent news, cannot wait :-)

Do you know whether the saves will transfer over to the PS4 version once it is released?

I see your point, but would like to continue my save onto the PS4 with season 3.

It’s good to know 4 is coming soon. I haven’t played any of season 2 yet and won’t until all episodes have been released. I bought the season pass in a sale as opposed to waiting for all episodes to be released which what I normally do with Telltale. I really wish that Telltale wouldn’t release episodic games and would just release the game when all episodes are complete.

People play these games for the story and having to wait with often a long break between episodes takes away from the story. Not to mention that people get frustrated seeing an episode release in another territory and having to wait extra weeks for it to release in EU. If you are going to continue to release episodic games wouldn’t it make more sense to at least have 3 episodes ready before the first one is released? You would then have at least 3 months to complete the remaining 2 episodes.

Well simply do as you are doing, and wait until they are all available. Why make the people who like episodic gaming wait because you personally don’t like it? I understand that people can be a (CENSORED) with spoiling the stories though!

It’s not about spoilers its about Telltale being incapable of releasing on schedule, which they are notoriously poor at. It’s about the inconsistency of releases, if I recall when Telltale released Back to the Future they stated it would be monthly episodes – it wasn’t. People paid in advance based on the statement that a new episode would be released monthly. Episodic releases with Telltale have become a very bad running joke, a episode can take months to release, that’s months (as in plural) after the first episode.

It’s also not about disliking episodic gaming, its about a company stating a game is episodic then not being consistent in their release of the product. Telltale obviously makes the first episode before they release it, it’s not much to ask them to actually make the game before they release it. If they actually made and completed the game before the first episode was released then they could release an episode each month.

Telltale are incapable of this and their whole ...

Telltale are incapable of this and their whole business model comes up as lazy and can’t be asked. People actually pay in advance for the season pass. The first episode of season 2 of The Walking Dead was released in December 2013, here it is July 2014 and the 4th episode isn’t even out yet. This is episodic gaming? Will episode 5 be out before the game has been out a year? According to how Telltale laid out how their episodic gaming would work, episode 5 would have been out in May

Awesome, I was hoping the Vita version would come out at the same time. And so soon too! I’ll definitely play it the day it comes out.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Wow, you guys and girls at Telltale are rattling through episodes right now. Does this mean we might see your take on Game of Thrones before the year is out? I sure hope so, love your work, keep it up :D

The story…..the artwork….I’m waiting for the PS4 version to experience it at it’s best.

Telltale Games, you can do no wrong in my eyes. Pure talent that’s in a different league to almost everyone else. ;)

Cannot wait! Although maybe I’ve played this series too much…both platform and iOS…NAH, it’s frickin’ awesome!

I just want to know the release date of Episode 5 :>

same here!

Great to see it coming out on the same day as PS3!

For those keeping score this is the third time in the last 18 months that TellTale will have managed a PSN Euro release on time. Second time was another TWD S2 episode and the first time was the very first TWD episode, every other TellTale release in that timeframe has been delayed by a minimum of one week.

So, Laura if you come back, it looks like things are getting slightly better for you guys actually sending the European version to SCEE for testing on time. Is this something we can expect to happen properly in future? Or are we looking at a spoiler filled waits for Ep5, GoT and Borderlands as we’ve had with the rest of TWD and Wolf?

So far I’m not that much into it as season 1, I just miss the interaction between Lee and Clementine and don’t think she’s that interesting as the protagonist. Good thing you guys are masters at character development. Absolutely loved Wolf Among Us. Think Bigby might be one of my new all time favorite game characters.. Very curious to see what you guys are going to do with Game of thrones as well.. Not that interested in the Borderlands universe but I’m sure you guys’ll do magic with it again.

Yay, we get it on time =3
