Surgeon Simulator: Anniversary Edition hits PS4 next week

Nurse, would you please prepare the patient?

We are delighted, happy, excited – all of the good words – to announce that Surgeon Simulator, Anniversary Edition is almost here. On 13th August we’re going to unleash it on the PS4 in Europe and then stand back and marvel as the universe changes.

In all seriousness, we know that you’re thinking. You’ve seen this game before, you’ve watched a million Let’s Plays of it on YouTube, and you’ve maybe even dressed as a surgeon or nurse in your free time to hone your surgical skills. Perhaps you even sent us photographs. So this A & E edition – what’s different?

We had a lot of feedback from our fans about the operations we released exclusively on iPad. Many didn’t have iPads, and wanted to be able to complete the new eye and teeth transplants. They were sad. This made us sad.

There was only one solution – the A & E edition. This version of the game contains all of the best parts from the Steam and iPad release in one convenient package, for your gaming pleasure. The eye and teeth transplants and trolley mode from the iPad version of the game are all here, as well as the original operating theatre, ambulance, space and alien spacecraft operations. All of the operations that you have no doubt perfected, and can do with your eyes closed, well. They work on a CONTROLLER too. A CONTROLLER. The future is here!

We also have something very cool that is exclusive to the PS4 version of the game. Our awesome (and twisted) dev team wanted to make sure that this newest version of the game was even more nightmare-inducingly fun and are just making the final touches to the new mode making sure everything is tickety-boo. Nigel’s arm shaved, his nails manicured, new watch batteries – that kind of thing. You know what we do. We will be able to reveal all VERY soon, but not right now. Where would be the fun in that? All we CAN say is that it’s something our community asked for. Daily. And we hate to disappoint.

If you happen to be at Gamescom – you can stop by the Sony booth and try out surgery for yourself. If you’re extra kind to Henrique (our boss), he may furnish you with some of the fine syringe pens he’ll be hiding in his jacket.

Is it MOVE compatible?

Second that

Heya. It’s not…but it’s something that we haven’t ruled out for the future. If we can get it to work the way we want it to, I’m sure we won’t be able to resist.

I hope the community has been asking for move support, a cheaper ps4 camera and/or ps3/vita version. I’m not greedy but something with ps plus would be good too.

Maybe some of your wishes will come true. :)

That’s one of the 3 reactions we were hoping for. ;)

Does the game have a platinum trophy?

Yep. Sure does.

I’d also like to try it with Move.

We’re going to try it first, to see if we can make it work!

I will be getting this.

Yay! See you in surgery!

Ugh, why did you have to include that Pewdiepie ****** in the trailer? He gives real gamers a bad name.

zalwelgoedgaan 07 August, 2014 @ 17:27

Agreed. Gimme a brofist.

Yeah why are you including the most popular youtuber!? Makes no sense at all……

We included a few different personalities, to suit everyone’s tastes. :)

Because he’s a foul-mouthed homophobe that shouldn’t be supported.

We’ve met him in real life, and he’s actually a polite, courteous, respectful fella. But that’s another debate for another time and place. ;)

Would’ve thought this would be perfect for Vita, no?!

We haven’t even thought about that – Vitas are awesome. Would the screen be too small, and the controls too fiddly (even for this game)?

I was gonna grab some PSN credit today to hit the sale and buy Transistor, think I’ll enjoy this more. Transistor will be on sale again or given away on Plus at some point and I need this game day 1.

Is it next week yet?

5 more sleeps.

Would be cool on vita

We haven’t tried it yet – can’t even imagine the arm movements you’d have to do to finish a surgery!

I hope that Gynaecology and Urology DLC is in the works :) :) :)

IGN says it’s €10.99 / £8.99

Damn and i was saving up for destiny as well why must you tease me with your amputee surgery

StefNighthawk 12 August, 2014 @ 15:55

How about a companion/secondscreen app for PSVita showing the lifesigns of the patient?

Lol @ flying eyeballs. Controls seem very inaccurate though, even if motion controlled..
