Crimsonland launching on PS Vita next week

10tons’ intense top-down shooter is coming to PS Vita

Hi all! It’s awesome to return from summer holidays to announce Crimsonland for PS Vita. It’s launching 20th August, and will be cross buy with the PS4 version.

As some of you may know, the Crimsonland at hand is a remastered version of the first game 10tons ever made back in 2003. It’s definitely a genre cult classic, and the remastered game was launched for PS4 in July. A whole lot of people really appreciated how gratifying and addictive old school top down dual stick arena shooter can be even in this day and age. We also got surprisingly numerous calls for a Vita version, and we’re definitely happy to deliver.

Crimsonland is a simple game. You’re a space marine guy, and a huge horde of monsters is coming at you. Shoot them all, and don’t die! You’ve got a 60-mission campaign to clear, but that’s just the beginning. Completing the missions merely unlocks the weapons and perks you need in the five endless Survival modes, where you’ll face an endless onslaught and a sure death, but hopefully a cool score for the online leaderboards, too.

Combining weapons and perks in Survival is what Crimsonland is all about. How would a sawed-off shotgun with poison bullets, regeneration, and dodging work? Or how about plasma cannon, faster reload speed, extra ammo capacity, and longer powerup duration? Try’em, and find your favourite playstyle! Be warned, though: you won’t get your favourite weapon drops and perk tables every time. Curveballs by Lady Luck are a factor in Crimsonland, so it’s good to be ready to adapt.

Oh, and the game is a bit hard. There’s some blood, too. Check the game out and let us know what you think!

I really like that game, it seems that it will be great for the Vita too.

Vita version 60fps? 30fps?

60fps, as long as possible. The framerate will dip eventually, when enough monsters are on the screen at the same time. Especially in Survival more and more monsters are spawned until the player dies, so if you’re really good, expect to see some slowdown in your final seconds.

Totally fine with that!

Nice one getting it out so fast I thought it was going to be a month or two!
Really hope it’s 60fps too as it’s so hectic.

HomessaHomem needs this in his/her vita!

when in doubt and you need to find some inspiration, ask Doom (box art). Kind of just makes me wish Doom Classic was on Vita tbh. Doom and Doom 2 (Ultimate Doom) on the Vita would be insanely good.

There was talk of Duke Nukem some time ago…. died a death though.

(this is for TVsportsCOD) I NEED THIS IN VITA! :)

Sony we need good (AAA) games for the PS Vita, we don´t want mobile, or indie games! (Sony you betrayed us!!)

Indeed, he does not speak for everyone. While the Vita needs AAA titles, as in traditional games to deliver on the “console experience on the go”, there is also an important place for indie development. These are right at home on the console.

And about AAA games, we got Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited, Danganronpa 2 – Goodbye Despair, Akiba’s Trip – Undead & Undressed, Freedom Wars en Natural Doctrine, etc coming with today another big launch; Sword Art Online.

This tool does NOT speak for everyone.
“We” DO want indie games for the Vita AS WELL AS AAA games.
My favourite games on my Vita seem to be the indie ones; Rogue Legacy for example has been played for hours and hours and HOURS on my Vita and still I keep coming back for more.

Please ignore people who say “WE” want this or “WE” don’t want that; they are ONLY speaking for themselves and have no right to say “WE” as if they speak for the community in general. Selfish!

Launch day! Hope it arrives soon on the store.

I bought this on PS4 some time ago, but it still asks me to pay for the Vita version. I thought I could play the Vita version as well. Is that not what cross-buy means?

Same here, Jawads said they’re looking into the problem. Hope they can fix the cross buy, would love to play this on my vita :)

I was looking forward to this on my Vita but it’s still not properly “cross-buy” and although I’ve bought the PS4 version I have no Vita version.

SCEE need to sack these fools who keep messing up additions to the store and employ someone with a working braincell. Every week there’s SOMETHING! Have they no pride in their work?

We close the comments for posts after 30 days.
