Continuing a strong week is an all new Vita exclusive based on the anime (in turn based on the novel) is Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment. Set in an MMO-like world, SAO is an RPG that offers players solid gameplay where combo attacks, execution speed and knowledge of the opponent will be mandatory to survive.

So, while US gets Crimsonland for 7 bucks with crossbuy, we’re getting vita version with “crossbuy” (this is not crossbuy, this is just a bundle) for 20 bucks.
SCEE, what the hell are you doing?

According to 10tons it must be cross buy, not a bundle or anything else.

    AlemanGC 20 August, 2014 @ 3:20 pm

I love how Minecraft is such a big success and #1 in PSN since months! Because people love to create and be creative and let their imagination run wild, this is what gaming is about 🙂 ! And the game supports custom mp3 soundtracks on ps3, how amazing is this! But why do the excellent Rogue Legacy and Counterspy (BRILLIANT! games) not have the custom mp3 soundtrack feature?!

    Jawad Ashraf 20 August, 2014 @ 3:25 pm

    Checking into it…

The Playstation mobile section / games seem to have been missed out again this week.
    Raptor RPG – 3D dinosaur game £1

    threestepguide 21 August, 2014 @ 3:37 pm

    Yeah, Crimsonland price is ridiculous.

zalwelgoedgaan 20 August, 2014 @ 3:11 pm   2

This is strange. PS4 version of Crimsonland is €10, but the Vita version is €13.

It seems that the vita versions has cross buy but the ps4 not, according to the devs it shouldn’t be like this.

@10tonsLtd Hey guys! isn’t #Crimsonland crossbuy? It asks for money even thought i have it for PS4 or I just have to wait for #PSN upgrade? –

@10tonsLtd @RochalaHimself Yes the crossbuy texts are in but only in PS VITA versions. PS4 version in SCEE is without crossbuy description.

    10tons @10tonsLtd
@1Siger1 @RochalaHimself shouldn’t make any difference, it should always work both ways as far as we know.

    zalwelgoedgaan 20 August, 2014 @ 8:21 pm

Ah man, the demo is so fun! If they fix this whole crossbuy/price thingie, I’ll buy it right away.

    Bumblebee 21 August, 2014 @ 1:13 pm

I was all set to download Crimsonland, having already bought it on PS4 VERY DISAPPOINTED.

This is a ridiculous update overall:
Crimsonland for Vita not cross-buy with PS4 version.
Hotline Miami for PS4 not cross-buy (I already have it on Vita/PS3, NOT paying again!)
Diablo III is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced, especially for those of us who bought already on PS3
PvZ on PS4 ridiculously overpriced (not that I would buy it anyway)
and finally Tecmo’s insistence on ruining the Dead or Alive franchise continues with more over-priced costumes that don’t even work with DoA5 original version (I was a big fan but they have SOILED this series with their unbelievable greed and will never buy a game from them again now I see how their business model “works”).

Today, I am a very disappointed PlayStation fan. It’s almost as if Sony don’t want us to throw money at them any more, and instead would rather us throw something brown and stinky at them.

Come ON, Sony, this is no way to treat customers. Rip-off, unfair prices and broken promises. It’s a mess and a joke.

    zalwelgoedgaan 21 August, 2014 @ 3:57 pm

Hm? Hotline Miami PS4 is free. In the webstore it says the standard price, but if you add it to the cart then you see it’s suddenly free.

    Bumblebee 21 August, 2014 @ 4:37 pm

Oh thanks zalwelgoedgaan, you are correct. I was a fool to trust the information on this blog, A FOOL!

So to confirm for everyone what Sony could not: Hotline Miami on PS4 IS cross-buy; despite there being no mention of this on the blog update above… as zalwelgoedgaan mentions, if you bought it previously just add it to the basket and redownload and you will have the PS4 version for free, too.

Crimsonland, though, is still messed up. Shame as it would be a great fit for Vita.

Hey Jawad, Crimsonlands doesn’t shows as cross-buy yet, can you check it ?

Ishan_The_King 20 August, 2014 @ 3:12 pm   4

Will be buying Counter Spy. And what’s up with the restricted availability of The Last Tinker…?

    TeddyBearTwinkle 21 August, 2014 @ 12:24 am

restricted availability of The Last Tinker dam it sony i dont care about the dam rules and laws in countrys about games if it was up to me i would kick out all of sony staff and take over sony and bring out all games for all countrys

who ever set the game rules for each country is a silly braindead zombie

ghettokid1987 20 August, 2014 @ 3:13 pm   5

Any plans for :
– Dante’s Inferno(for PS3) and Dishonored get available in russian store ?
– Persona 4 Arena or it’s “ultimate” version get back?

Chaos Code still not available in Russia.

    Archacus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:24 pm

Persona 4 Arena was removed probably on demand of Atlus. There is new upgraded version of game coming…. so probably no it won’t come back.

    @ghettokid1987

I have seen Persona 4 Arena on sale at various online retailers such as Zavvi or Play for around £10 -£15. Not sure if they post to Russia There is also some cheap ones on ebay. Don’t buy the US or JP versions as its possibly the only game on PS3 that is region locked

    ghettokid1987 21 August, 2014 @ 8:49 am

“Persona 4 Arena was removed probably on demand of Atlus. There is new upgraded version of game coming…. so probably no it won’t come back”

I’m not Vanga to say whose decision it was. But the US and JP stores are still have both versions of Persona 4 Arena (standard and ultimate), instead of EU stores, which now have none of these from a recent time.

No Last Tinker in Belgium (or anywhere else outside of UK and Germany)? Darn shame 🙁

    AlemanGC 20 August, 2014 @ 4:04 pm

    But you have chocolate!

Belgium has more than just chocolate…they have also given the world Plastic Bertrand, Front 242, Gruesome Twosome and back in the 80’s they had Paul Weller postage stamps.

    TeddyBearTwinkle 21 August, 2014 @ 12:26 am

anyone outside of the eu/uk/usa that cant get any game oneday i will fire all sony staff and bring out every ps4 game for every contry

sony is a big joke they only care about the uk and usa and ignore the other countys well if i was in charge of sony id say STUFF THE RULES all games for all countrys and if the goverment dont like it they can jump of a cliff

CRASHBASHUK 20 August, 2014 @ 3:14 pm   7

any news on LBP3 store pre-order? other games have been added but no LBP3 🙁

jamie-sixtyfour 20 August, 2014 @ 3:14 pm   8

Any news of a release date for Don’t Starve: Reign of Giants DLC (without the main game)? It’s not on the PS4 DLC list.

Search for “Don” in web store and you should find full game with add-on and add-on as separate download.

Finally time to get my Nerve Gear on with my Vita 🙂

THUNDERCAT1973 20 August, 2014 @ 3:15 pm   10

Will pick up the red dead double pack, if one piece pirate warriors 2 was £19.99 I would of picked that up as well, but still to expensive for my taste, know it’s a lot cheaper than a physical copy but sure it’s been on sale for a lot less

    THUNDERCAT1973 20 August, 2014 @ 3:17 pm

Also at that price sword art online can wait for a sale.

    Archacus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:20 pm

    @Thundercat1973
If you are willing to wait… and if you would prefer retail edition. (IF! If not ignore it)

Visit official thread on Bandai Namco UK page and say so. One of the mods said that it is worth to be vocal about it, and if enough people will declare that they want retail they MIGHT (or might not) reconsider.

Anyway chances are low…. and Bandai Namco is cool anway 🙂

    Rastamadeus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:34 pm

@Archacus You being paid by Bandai Namco? Second time on here you’ve called them cool.

    Archacus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:37 pm

    @Rastamadus
    Oh rats 🙁 you discovered ? 🙂

Yeah I’m being paid by getting cool games 🙂 I love Tales of series that’s big enough payment for me 😀

    Rastamadeus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:41 pm

@Archacus Not played a Tales game yet but very intrigued by them. What one would you recommend to begin with at entry level? PS3 or Vita.

    Archacus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:53 pm

    @Rastamadeus
Hmm…. Vita version is still not released it is called Tales of Hearts R (remastered version of DS game)

I love tales of abyss… but sadly it can’t be played in EU 🙁

Tales of Graces f is very good game, characters are good.

    Tales of Symphonia is classic….

    Tales of Xillia 1+2

You know… I would say pick Tales of Graces F it should be cheapest atm… Give it a try first. If you will like it you will probably collect all tales of games like I do 😀

Tales of Abyss can be played in Europe it’s on the 3ds and under £20 in most places

    Archacus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:59 pm

    @Izorpo
    I meant PlayStation version

There was only american PS2 game… not for pal

But yes if he has DS it might be good choice.

    Rastamadeus 20 August, 2014 @ 4:03 pm

I have a DS somewhere so may dig that out as I quite fancy playing on it again now. Will also give f a go, cheers.

    DoYouLikeMyID 20 August, 2014 @ 4:05 pm

    @Rastamadeus

I’ve gotta agree with @Archacus here. Tales of Graces F is a great game, and it is rather cheap at the moment. If you want to try a Tales of game, Tales of Graces F is a fantastic choice! 😀

    @Rastamadeus

No sure if it is on the DS but its definitely on the 3DS

Feeder1986 20 August, 2014 @ 3:16 pm   11

No more summer sale items? Thought there was a week 3?

    Rastamadeus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:17 pm

Week one – PS3 and Vita, three weeks ago
Week two – PS4, two weeks ago
Week three – PS3 and Vita, last week

    THUNDERCAT1973 20 August, 2014 @ 3:19 pm

Rockstar has been added for this week

    Feeder1986 20 August, 2014 @ 3:21 pm

Ahh right, been out the country so out of sync with everything.

Was a pretty shoddy sale then

    CSR-Montoya 21 August, 2014 @ 7:45 am

Talking about Summer sale, TWD Season 2 is still at full price (Croatian store)…

And, TT could add some discount to those who already bought game for Vita or PS3!

Still no YT app in our store…

Archacus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:17 pm   12

About SAO if anyone prefer retail edition I was advised by moderator on Bandai Namco page to be vocal about it.

1. Visit
bandainamcogames.eu/community/topics/sword-art-online-hollow-fragment-eu-release

2. Leave comment saying that you would prefer retail version.

Chances are low, but they might reconsider it if enough people will want it. Maybe there will be chances to get complete edition with DLCs? Dunno but it is worth trying even if chances are low.

Anyway with current prices I don’t think that many people will pick it up right now… 39 EUR for digital only…

    DoYouLikeMyID 20 August, 2014 @ 4:07 pm

I just left a comment on there saying I want a retail edition (politely, of course 😉 )

Like you said though, chances are probably pretty low, but we can always hope 😀

    Archacus 20 August, 2014 @ 5:24 pm

    @DoYouLikeMyID
    Thank you 🙂

If we won’t try we won’t get it for sure 🙂 Leaving one comment takes like 1-2 minute, I think that it is worth trying even knowing that the chances are very small 😀

    DoYouLikeMyID 20 August, 2014 @ 6:09 pm

    @Archacus

    Definitely. Fingers crossed 🙂

Hanzoadam 20 August, 2014 @ 3:17 pm   13

Sword art online £32.99, The US store its $39.99 which is £24, Looks like we get shafted again.

Luckily I got the Hong Kong version which is in English and a physical retail version.

Have to say extremely disappointing game considering the Anime was so great

    Archacus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:18 pm

but there are many DLCs which you won’t be able to download.

I advise you to be vocal about wanting retail edition. Namco Bandai is cool company and they are listening. Somewhere above I gave link to thread on official page.

    Thunderlizzard 20 August, 2014 @ 5:13 pm

US prices don’t include tax so you need to take off 20% VAT before you compare. Pre-tax price is £27.49 which is actually a lot closer to it’s US price than most titles.

If you want to complain go for Diablo 3 which is £59.99 UK and $59.99 US…. or tax adjusted £49.99 ($83.21) vs $59.99.

Then again Diablo 3 is £59.99 on PS4 and £29.99 on PS3. Talk about fleecing your customers. I haven’t checked for sure but I’m pretty sure the premiums levied on new-gen games are the highest price hike in console gaming history. I can’t remember any other generation where they jumped 50%.

P.S. The fact that we’re done for 20% VAT and the US tax is usually around 5% makes the price discrepancy much worse but that is something you’d have to take up with the Gov’t not Sony.

    Otaku_BAKA 20 August, 2014 @ 5:16 pm

Bewilderingly Namco Bandai said it would be £29.99 at launch: https://twitter.com/BandaiNamcoUK/status/502015987752120321

    @ Otaku_BAKA

That’s the price I remember as well so making it more than what they stated is a bit cheeky

    TeddyBearTwinkle 21 August, 2014 @ 12:28 am

yea what she said SONY make all ps3 ps4 vita games same price

    TrueMurton 21 August, 2014 @ 7:41 am

    @Thunderlizard

Actually digital purchases in the US are 0% tax. So you just compare the process directly, that’s £60 vs $60 for Diablo, which is a price difference of around 60%

Must be great to live under SCEA or SCEJ jurisdiction where last gen prices were kept on for this gen. I just hope the Americans and Japanese appreciate us paying this price hike so that they can enjoy a price freeze.

Any new information on Cross Region Gifting. *
Like steam have had for years.

Following titles getting on the SEN store?
Final Fantasy Crisis Core
Ghost in the Shell: Stand alone Complex
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleap (yes I know of 2.5 hd remake, but thats not playable on portable device is it? 😉 )
PoPoLoCrois
Tales of Eternia
Tales of the World Radiant Mythology
Thrillville
Valkyrie Profile Lenneth

Adding some answers to the Crossregion gifting this time.
*
Quite simply I want it in the way Like id been gifted the physical verison right (new, unopened) from that country/region that it originated. putting Digital and Physical on equal fotting.

I do mean gifts would have to be purchased as gift to (new item not used).
As for why as gift and not just let us buy from other regions, that is the same reason you can get a physical (new) copy as gift, digital should follow the SAME rules, as its technically the same item, just whitout the disk.
And as its purchased in the “rigth” region as a gift to the “wrong” region it will be taxed, etc in original place of purchase, and where the original rights belong and reciver would recive the item purchased as a gift.

    AlemanGC 20 August, 2014 @ 3:18 pm

I love how Minecraft is such a big success and #1 in PSN since months! Because people love to create and be creative and let their imagination run wild, this is what gaming is about 🙂 ! And the game supports custom mp3 soundtracks on ps3, how amazing is this! But why do the excellent Rogue Legacy and Counterspy (BRILLIANT! games) not have the custom mp3 soundtrack feature?!

You are aware that you can actually buy these PSP games on places like ebay.

They will never give cross gifting or a means to sort our download list or a reason why they consistently overcharge people on content or why bits of dlc and games never make it to EU store.

    MaxDiehard 20 August, 2014 @ 3:27 pm

I wish we could use explicit words on here. There are so many I want to throw at you for spamming this all the time. It’s so *£&*%$ frustrating.

    IT’S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!

    madmanwithabox12 20 August, 2014 @ 3:40 pm

@Izorpo: Whilst I disagree with this guy spamming the same post every week despite being told why these won’t happen, the last thing people should be doing is buying physical PSP games – Sony should be trying to nurture Vita by discouraging people from gaming on PSP.

    Rastamadeus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:43 pm

@MaxDiehard You could just try not reading it and frustrating yourself you know? Whether it happens or not he’s allowed to ask for it, especially as with Sony EU you *have* to spam them to get their attention. I’m still waiting for a refund for being charged nearly £60 for a PS+ game for example.

    @ madmanwithabox12

It doesn’t matter to me if the person asks every week about cross region gifting. I’m simply pointing out that if someone wants to play the games this badly there is another option.

    madmanwithabox12 20 August, 2014 @ 3:57 pm

I’m totally with you dude. It’s a shame that that is the only option though, in an age where people are supposed to have abandoned the PSP and upgraded to Vita.

    jellyhedgehog 20 August, 2014 @ 4:21 pm

Will you ……. Off with your cross region rubbish.

    andrewsqual 20 August, 2014 @ 4:27 pm

@AlemanGC Still up to the same spamming of moaning about MP3 support yet again (you posted the exact same comment yet again in reply to the first person’s comment. And yet when the guys behind Rogue Legacy and Counterspy have done posts over the last couple of months promoting their game, you never asked them once will the game support these features. I forgot, you only post comments on Wednesdays.

On PS3 it is up to the devs to do this, all Vita games support Custom Mp3 playlists and on PS4 it will be coming in an update soon. Of course you don’t have a PS4 as you clearly stated 3 weeks back so if it is the PS4 version you are talking about, you have no say whatsoever anyway.

And btw you seem to be under the impression that every single PS3 game supports Custom soundtracks when it is in fact the complete opposite with only a very few select games that devs took the time to implement this.

    TeddyBearTwinkle 21 August, 2014 @ 12:29 am

Cross Region Gifting not gonna happen if you want a game BUY IT

So why is the Rockstar sale on xbox Live this week generally better? Great looking out for your customers.

    THUNDERCAT1973 20 August, 2014 @ 3:20 pm

Microsoft paid more money or Rockstar like them better, chance are it will be one of thoses

Maybe Rockstar are still annoyed about the former Sony employee who uploaded Manhunt 2 to torrent sites. If I recall it was before it was released and Rockstar were pretty angry plus Microsoft probably plied them with cash

    madmanwithabox12 20 August, 2014 @ 4:00 pm

I wouldn’t say R* prefer MS. If you look at E3 and whatnot, they seem to be closer to Sony – PS3 GTAV bundle with headset, GTAV revealed as a PS4 game during Sony’s conference, exclusive PS3 blimp etc.

    TeddyBearTwinkle 21 August, 2014 @ 12:28 am

well as they say anyone that owns a xbox turns mad LMAO

Honestly? Seriously??!!! The Last Tinker is £18.99! The US Store has it listed as $19.99 and has it on sale for plus users for $14.99. Well I’m not buying that, especially as conversion shows £18.99 to be $31.62. LOOT is the publishers or dev of that game they can keep it

The same goes for Sword Art Online £33 for a digital vita title which by the way comes to $55 and is being sold on US PSN for $39.99. Guess I will be buying the Japanese version after all.

    Archacus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:26 pm

    @Izorpo
Before buying HK version of game please consider being vocal about wanting retail in EU 🙂 Of course only if you want,, if you don’t care please ignore it 🙂

Visit official page of Bandai Namco and enter thread about SAO.

If enough people will say that they want retail they might reconsider it (one of official moderators advised me to do so)

    @Archaus

Problem is its very doubtful they will…that’s why we don’t have physical vita releases for EDF 2017, all the Atelier Plus games, One Piece Pirate Warriors 2 (they didn’t even bother with vita release at all), Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn (know its usually Koei Tecmo but they published the last one).

I would have purchased SAO if it was between £25-£29 but at that price no. They can keep it

    Archacus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:49 pm

    There is
Dragon ball and One Piece game on Vita released by Bandai Namco.

    So that’s not impossible.

Kinda bad idea to release dragon ball though…. I mean everyone was fan of it 10-15 years ago… but since then there were countless similar games, and people got already bored with them.

Also SAO is now more popular (probably even more popular than One Piece in Europe which is hit in JP)
    -anime airing
-aincrad episode will be completed in 8 days (release date of yenpress translated Light Novel)

It’s not impossible, so give it a try, mkay? You never know. 😀 Only if you want ofc.

    Archacus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:50 pm

Oh and Atelier is from Koei Tecmo (or Tecmo Koei… don’t remember which is right atm) not from Bandai Namco

Tecmo Koei changed to Koei Tecmo recently seemingly to make it the same as the one in Japan. If I’m getting confused about the Atelier series its because sometimes Namco publishes games in Europe that are published by someone else in the US or vice versa (Demon Souls would be a good example of this). I know the Atelier PS3 games were from NIS.

One Piece Unlimited World Red was released on the vita in Europe. One Piece Pirate Warriors 2 was not published in the west on vita. It was however released in Japan on the vita (I know because I have the Japanese vita version). Unlimited series is completely different from the warriors series.

    Thunderlizzard 20 August, 2014 @ 5:16 pm

    Erm… Diablo 3!?

    £59.99 UK … $59.99 US
    or
    £59.99 PS4 … £29.99 PS3

    both are appalling.

P.S. Taxes do change the UK/US comparison but I’ve already typed that out in a comment higher up … it’s still bad though!

    @ Thunderlizzard

Actually I am well aware of the various tax prices in the US. I lived in multiple places there for over 30 years and all states have a different tax rate. Some US states don’t even charge sales tax at all. Sales tax can range anywhere from 0% to 10%. Chicago has (9.75%). Even after adding sales tax it’s still cheaper to buy from US PSN than EU PSN.

Within the UK, the standard 20% VAT isn’t always applicable, you’ve added that onto a digital game and yet when looking on various government sites in regards to HM Revenue and customs seems to state they are exempt VAT Notice 701/29 as they fall within the remit of services as opposed to goods.

    TeddyBearTwinkle 21 August, 2014 @ 12:30 am

WILL YOU WAKE UP THE LAST TINKER IS PS PLUS FOR THE EU/UK AS WELL either you didnt see that or your ps4 hates you lmao

Hi Jawad, I am really disappointed that we still did not get the Japanece Voice DLC for Dynasty Warriors 8 Complete Edition for Ps4. It should have been released on July 30th. Is there any news ?

Hey buddy. Forget about SCEE and their uselessness. Go to the playstation store sub menu in-game. All the DLC will appear via that menu including the JP DLC.

I cannot see it in the normal store when I search. I will check ingame and if I cannot find it there I will create an UK account

yeah its in options when you load the game

and cheers for pointing that out

I found it and already playing in Japanese Voice. Hope this helps!

£15 more for the PS4 version of PVZ? That’s a massive jump in price, almost insulting.

    Thunderlizzard 20 August, 2014 @ 5:17 pm

    Seen Diablo? It’s DOUBLE!

Almost? £5 would be reasonable, £10 would be unfair, £15 is most certainly insulting.

ps3 games are like £20 ps4 games are double

i dont care if ps4 is alot better when i own one but sony put all prices on ps3 ps4 at the same stuff the developers of the game ignore them and set the price your self all them people care about is the money and not us lot who wants the game and cant buy it

    axe_ninja 22 August, 2014 @ 12:19 am

I would buy the RDR Undead Nightmare pack but I am waiting news of Minecraft PS4’s release and price upgade details, for those that had the PS3 digital version.

I heard it has been put through testing so I assumed it would be released either today or next week. So Jawad, got any news on both release and pricing for Minecraft PS4?

Why is last Tinker not €19,99 and €15 ( for Plus) like announced in yesterdays post?

Hey there! The game is €19.99, except for PlayStation Plus members who will receive a discounted price of €14.99.

And the game not being available in most of Europe is a joke. Guess ill grab off the US PSN.

I got this reply at their facebook page:

    Hi Yiannis,

Looks like there’s a pricing error on the Europe store. We’re currently working with PlayStation to fix it. Thanks for your patience! -JS

Welcome to digital gaming and greedy publishers diabolo 3 is £30 extra than ps3 version wow…

Asking £60 for ps4 version and just £30 for ps3 for a game that’s been out over a year is greedy .. and shame on the people who have supported this

    Rastamadeus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:37 pm

Shocking, isn’t it? I got Diablo III last year and although I thoroughly enjoyed it, it’s not a £40 game (what I paid at retail). Adding in an expansion and a few new bits does not make it anywhere near £60. If anything it’s now about worth £40. That does make sense – I reread it :’)

Blizzard made Diablo III? If so aren’t they a part of Activision….that alone pretty much tells you why the game is priced that way. Guess you might consider yourself lucky that they didn’t charge extra for any cut scenes

    I3loodthirsty 20 August, 2014 @ 4:23 pm

I was looking forward to getting this game but with the typical scee price con I think I ll wait till it’s either on sale or until I can get it from the scea store as that will no doubt work out cheaper.

    Bovrillor 20 August, 2014 @ 6:20 pm

£60 for Diablo ROS on PS4 is utterly sickening.

So far I haven’t bought a single PS4 game via PSN, the pricing has somehow been even worse than the PS3 era (which I begrudginly tolerated and frequently bought digital titles)

I know publishers have the final say, but SCEE need to pull some strings or something, the PS4 content pricing is abysmal. Maybe some of our PS+ money could subsidise the content, seeing as all the PS4+ content has been junk.

    MP_is_for_Chumps 21 August, 2014 @ 4:14 am

They do it because they can get away with it.

…most PS3 & PS4 generation gamers are too stupid or apathetic to do anything meaningful about it. Indeed, if somebody does go on a forum to complain and state they intent to boycott the game, 9 times out of 10 they’ll be ridiculed by their moronic fps playing peers!

Dumb generation gamers getting dumber and dumber. Suits american corps reeeeeeeal fine tho -___-

Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition – PS3 = £29.99, PS4 = £59.99

Well done Blizzard. I’ll wait for a sale thanks.

    Valgaarv 20 August, 2014 @ 3:37 pm

€39.99 for PS3, €69.99 for PS4. Its a digital store remember ? Im going to buy it later today in a retail store, no promo or anything and it’s priced €29.89 for PS3, €59.89 for PS4…

Digital should be less or at least equal, not more.

    tiago-kun 20 August, 2014 @ 3:52 pm

This is absurd, I could understand a difference like Ground Zeroes (10€), but almost the double of the ps3 version is way above what I expected, not buying at this price… Especially since I have the PC and just wanted the ps4 version for some couch fun.

    Bovrillor 20 August, 2014 @ 6:22 pm

Insane isn’t it? Would have bought the PS4 version at £30 (despite having already bought the PS3 original and there being no upgrade scheme – fail) but £60? That’s just insulting.

Yep, so true. Digital pricing on retail games is a joke. I remember a few months ago, South Park stick of truth was 49.99 on the ps store (before it hit the sale, came down in price) and you could buy it from amazon for around £20-£25 lol

Having the same problem as others, Crimsonland is not showing as free on vita even though I have the ps4 version 🙁

madmanwithabox12 20 August, 2014 @ 3:26 pm   28

Pretty “meh” update this week, nothing for me. Those Rockstar sales though! Tempting as all hell… are you trying to bleed me dry SCEE? I just spent a bunch of cash on them there vidya gaemz the past few weeks because of the sales hahaha.

Still yet to play RDR and for just over £6 that’s very tempting. The Warriors on PS2 is just awesome and I’m intrigued by Chinatown Wars. Curse you, Rockstar/SCEE! *shakes fist*

I know I ask this a lot, but any word on the likes of Dragon Fantasy Book II, Mutant Mudds Deluxe, 1001 Spikes, BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma etc on Vita? NA has had some of these for quite a long time and I’m not quite sure why some of them would take so long to make the jump overseas?

    Rastamadeus 20 August, 2014 @ 3:39 pm

Get Red Dead immediately. Best game on PS3 for me (and second only to Super Mario Galaxy 2 as game of the generation). For £6.49 it’s criminal to avoid it. Don’t get the Undead version though, can find it cheaper online and in shops.

    THUNDERCAT1973 20 August, 2014 @ 3:52 pm

Is it worth it for the double pack of red dead ?

    madmanwithabox12 20 August, 2014 @ 3:53 pm

I would have jumped on this like Steve Irwin on a deadly crocodile, but I’m a bit apprehensive having recently spent a lot of money on several games across PS3 and Vita lately what with the Summer sales and Rogue Legacy coming out and whatnot. I’ve got an enormous backlog right now on both systems and the last thing I want is to make that backlog even bigger hahaha.

    Rastamadeus 20 August, 2014 @ 4:09 pm

@Thundercat1973 (great name, hoo!) I didn’t see the double pack – that is definitely a must have. The Undead version is just a zombie re imagining that gets a bit samey towards the end but for £1.50 it’s a bargain. And it has a unicorn. What more do you want? Oh, and zombie horses that don’t go straight, they swat left or right as I found out when my horse ran off a cliff as I was shouting “WHAT THE $(£) ARE YOU DOING!?!”

@madmanwithabox12 Backlog or not I doubt you’ll ever find it at a better price so I’d recommend getting the game anyway. Trust me, it’s definitely worth it. I hated sandbox games until playing this one. Even online (although now quieter) is rather fun, especially when with people you know.

    Rastamadeus 20 August, 2014 @ 4:10 pm

    Bovrillor 20 August, 2014 @ 6:23 pm

It’d also be nice if they could refund the money/credit for utterly broken content that doesn’t actually work. I have several PSN downloads that simply don’t work. At all. Yet customer support won’t do a damn thing about it. Thieves.

Hey there! The game is €19.99, except for PlayStation Plus members who will receive a discounted price of €14.99.

PS STore update
Jawad AshrafPS Store Team
The Last Tinker: City of Colors £18.99/€23.99/$35.95

Whats happening lately ? Do u put ur own personal tax on it jawad ? This happens a lot tbh .. prices in store higher than what the developer says.

Not that i mind as much this week cause of :
Not available in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine
but for the other people who can buy it .. its a slap in the face again.

And we all know the developers set the prices, right Sony? SCEE became a real joke.

    zalwelgoedgaan 20 August, 2014 @ 3:48 pm

Haha. Those Tinker guys weren’t joking when they said that they liked beer a lot. Thing is, they’re Germans, so they should know how it feels to get ripped off in Europe when it comes to prices *points at Nintendo and their horrible price fixing in the 90s where they got fined for*.

Ah well, on the US store it is actually 19,99 / 15 as advertised, so not my loss

    Archacus 20 August, 2014 @ 4:14 pm

    Developers set only wholesale price.

The one who is setting retail price which you see in shop is SCEE. Sometimes it is exactly the same as proposed by developers sometimes higher if SCEE decide to do so.

Or at least that’s what I found out reading FAQ for developers.

    @zalwelgoedgaan

I don’t think its beer they are drinking seems like they started smoking whatever SCEE, Namco, Activision, EA ad infinium have been inhaling

yep Americans suck…I try really hard not to be but if you really want to distract them set up a booth giving away free stuff (it doesn’t matter can be empty tin cans, gum whatever they will queue for blocks for it) and have a parade…its like leprechauns and polishing shoes. It’s a genetic defect, they can’t help themselves

Disgaea 4 demo. Oh yeah. Cant wait to stuck into this one. For me it is the benchmark for rpg. Trouble is it renders most rpgs simplistic by comparison.

Assassin-_-MerKz 20 August, 2014 @ 3:34 pm   36

GAME Silverburn received the cover Minecraft Ps4 physical copy release soon i hope!

Hi Jawad!
Sorry to bother you again but could you or someone check out why I can’t get all BGMs from Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends DLC Stage & BGM Pack 9 and Stage & BGM Pack 10. Only BGMs I got were DW7 BGMs from Stage & BGM Pack 10 but not any of the DW3-DW6.
Thanks in advance!

Assassin-_-MerKz 20 August, 2014 @ 3:36 pm   38

When can we preload infamous first light? I read somewhere we can preload 7 days before release

Are we ever going to know what happened to Guilty Gear Accent Core + R ? Please?

    axe_ninja 21 August, 2014 @ 11:51 pm

just wait for Guilty Gear Xrd now. All other GG’s are irrelevant now to that one

Are there any PS+ discounts for the Rockstar sale?

The price for Tinker has put me right off, was expecting it to be £10 or so.

PHEEliNUX 20 August, 2014 @ 3:42 pm   41

What is with SAO’s price? I’m definitely waiting for a sale then
There seems to be Xillia avatars, I might eventually get them or something, Would be cool if we had Vesperia too

    PHEEliNUX 20 August, 2014 @ 3:51 pm

$55 for SAO while it is $40 in US? That is goddamn overpriced for a digital only game

rateddany998 20 August, 2014 @ 3:42 pm   42

No news on a Persona 4 Golden discount. I want to buy the game but 40$ is a bit too much, Hoping we get a discount soon.

    madmanwithabox12 20 August, 2014 @ 3:50 pm

P4G was discounted earlier this year actually. Besides, you can probably find a physical copy for around £20 or less.

    DoYouLikeMyID 20 August, 2014 @ 4:22 pm

As @madmanwithabox12 said, it has been discounted earlier this year… twice I believe… and in the christmas sale. It’ll probably be discounted again at some point. If you can’t wait for that, Amazon currently has it for 14£, so if you’re fine with physical copies (which I actually prefer to digital, as they don’t fill up your memory card as much), then I’d recommend getting it there.

Robinworldwide 20 August, 2014 @ 3:42 pm   43

That sale on Midnight Club: Los Angeles seemed very tempting, but i just found out that the servers are closed and therefore all online trophies (and the platinum trophy obviously) are unobtainable. I know a fiver is still not bad for the content you get with the single player, but am i the only thinking it’s a bit of false advertising if it is nowhere mentioned here or in the PS Store that such a big and important part of the game has become inaccessible?

    KaneTheGoth 20 August, 2014 @ 5:13 pm

Very frustrating when this happens – they need to add online trophies as optional, the same way the DLCs trophies are.

The_Atmultima 20 August, 2014 @ 3:45 pm   44

So, what about the Xillia 2 DLC that the US store got today? The Level + 10 stuff.

    Jawad Ashraf 20 August, 2014 @ 3:54 pm

They will be up (though surprisingly not on a Friday).

    Rastamadeus 20 August, 2014 @ 4:11 pm

Random fact (I’m bored): On A Friday was Radiohead’s original name. The more you know…

Robinworldwide 20 August, 2014 @ 3:47 pm   45

I was tempted to buy Midnight Club: Los Angeles, but i just found out on a trophy hunters site that the online servers have closed. Because of this the online trophies (and therefore platinum trophy) are unobtainable. I know that a fiver is still not a lot for the single player content you get, but am i the only person who thinks it’s a bit of false advertising if they don’t mention on here and neither in the PS Store that a big and important part of the game is not functioning?

    zalwelgoedgaan 20 August, 2014 @ 4:16 pm

Sony doesn’t care, lol. They put the Resistance games on the store right after the online servers were taken down permanently.

Ahhh remember the good old days before trophies…I’ve retired as a must platinum all games I play because I’m mental and suffering from extreme OCD. I will only plat a game I like and really enjoy now.

Buying a 3DS was the best thing I did as there are no trophies or achievements, just playing a game I want to play for the sake of playing a game. Strange concept I know but don’t let not being able to acquire certain online trophies put you off playing a game. Why deprive yourself the experience of playing a game you may enjoy just because a plat isn’t viable?

Since deciding not to let trophies dictate the games I play I’ve found I’m actually enjoying gaming more.

    Robinworldwide 20 August, 2014 @ 5:16 pm

To each his own. I am perfectly able to obtain trophies AND still enjoy the games i’m playing. My point however was not just about trophies but about a major part of the game no longer functioning without it being mentioned. A few posts under this one someone is explaining how RDR:UN is unplayable in some cases. I just feel you can’t as a company sell incomplete/broken games without a warning, not even for a very low price. I’m pretty sure in a few countries that’s even against the law.

    RedMustang72 20 August, 2014 @ 6:34 pm

The trophy debate! 🙂 I like my trophies too but I can absolutely understand the negative impact they can occasionally have on games. I think devs really do need to be careful at times when implementing trophy sets, sometimes it can really spoil a game if you are either close to a plat or just determined to plat a game you like, but there are some incredibly frustrating, super skilled, down to luck type trophies that have you doing the same thing over and over and over and over… It ‘can’ ruin a game!

A nice balance of challenge, replay value, and sense of achievement are all good, as long as they are fun and not soul destroying nonsense like grinding for hours for no other reason (with no in game necessity or value) than to have a trophy pop, or the expectation that gamers will put in 1000hrs of multiplayer!! Yes Mr 10000 Resistance 2 kills, I like the game but… Or play-through trophies, normal, hard, yeah ok, but 3/4/5 full game play-throughs just for a single trophy…why oh why?!

The worst trophies are usually when a game doesn’t support chapter select or even a relevant checkpoint…didn’t get the trophy there…yeah, you’re going to have to start a new game to get that one. I’ve often found myself looking up trophy lists and planning ahead before I’ve even experienced my new game in any way…I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not.

That said I still enjoy collecting trophies and going for a plat every now and then, and most trophy complaints are the exception rather than the rule, but I can think of a few games that I wouldn’t ever touch again, games that I once liked, where the pop of a plat trophy was a sense of sheer relief than joy, or whereby I’ve packed in the trophy hunt because I’ve become soooo bored or frustrated with a game I’m actually sick of playing it!

A good trophy set can offer a lot to a game…as much as a bad set can ruin one.

It wasn’t a criticism, just an observation.

Loads of games have their servers shut down. EA in particular is possibly one of the worst to do this. In all honesty older games can easily be moved to a different server . EA, for example could shunt all the older games to a single or older server for negligible cost. People still want to play older games and if online is an integral part of the game then I don’t understand why remove the online. If you buy a game (I’ve seen Lord of the Rings Conquest new in a store recently and its servers have been shut down for years) then you should get what you paid for.

    or

In the case of Midnight Club have a warning in store that servers are no more, same applies to Dungeon Defenders etc and if they refuse to do that then just remove it from the store as a purchasable item

    @ RedMustang72

Valid points indeed…having to look at a trophy guide before you start a game to be sure you aren’t playing through it numerous times spoils the story. By default you will know what is going to happen and that kind of negates the reason to play the game in the first place. It’s like reading the last page of a novel before you start the book.

I spent 1269 hours getting the platinum on White Knight Chronicles 2, not just the platinum but spending days breaking the back of some monster to get a mat as I just needed these lanterns in my georama and it had nothing to do with any trophy. Some people will see the hour amount and think OMG you loon and they are probably right but I had a lot of fun playing it and made friends.

Thing is there is a big difference in grinding because you want to and grinding because you have to for a trophy. I can guarantee you that playing a game on the 3DS I will do everything there is to do in the game but I will be playing it the way I want to play it and not the way devs dictate how I should play it (such as 100 kills with one crap gun or weapon vs 100 kills another gun.

I’ve often read how people won’t play a game because it doesn’t have trophies, sad but its their loss and has nothing to do with me. People can equate some type of meaning with trophies I guess I’m just glad it doesn’t have any meaning to me any more.

    RedMustang72 20 August, 2014 @ 8:19 pm

    Izorpo,

If you spent 1269 hrs on WKC2 and had fun with it then that’s what I call some great gaming! 🙂 I’ve some 3000hrs invested in MHFU (which I still play) and 2000 or thereabouts in MH Tri…because the Monster Hunter games are so much fun for me, no trophies, although I wouldn’t mind if MHFU had them, and of course the nature of those games are somewhat geared to longevity and storyline isn’t exactly a lure!

Yeah looking up trophies is spoiler bait, and as a bit of a tangent here I would think the ‘hidden’ trophy might be past it’s sell by date, if you can’t see them on the PS itself then they’re just looked up online…I sippose they do serve their purpose though.

Artificial longevity and forced grinding are a big tiresome gripes. Got the plat for Dark Souls 2 a while back and as much as I enjoyed the game I had to question just why I was playing through it to some point in a 3rd play-through just so a merchant has new items available – buy them, trophy pops…plat pops…why? Dynasty Warriors 7 plat, max lvl all officers when the entire game to finish gets you nowhere near this feat. The plat ultimately had me doing the same mission over and over with every single officer to max their level…for hours, just for a trophy to pop, and subsequently the plat…I actually felt ill doing it I was so demoralized playing it. That last inFamous blast shard…aaaaaaaahhh lol I can laugh at some trophies that have given me a bit of a headache, forced me to grind or play a game for longer than I really wanted to, but some are just plain ridiculous…if, of course, you really want that trophy!

I find it silly that people won’t play games because it doesn’t have trophies, unless it’s a game they’ve already played to completion and the only thing that would reignite their interest is a trophy patch, but generally speaking, it’s the games that are important, or should be, not the trophy set, but there are always gamers who will likely see their trophy count as the priority…but like you said, it’s their prerogative.

I just think sometimes devs need to give a bit more though on how their trophy sets will affect their game, and our experience of their work/talent. I maintain my enjoyment of trophy collecting and I usually catch myself if I’m paying more attention to earning a trophy than I am to the actual simple joy of the game..but it is notable how often that can occur!!

Hopefully Deal of the week is coming back with some kick ass offers after the summer break.

Spiral_CAT 20 August, 2014 @ 4:06 pm   49

Where is the DLC Kurisu for Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds on PSVita ?

Quite excited for SAO! You know, the exclusive Vita game you didn’t bother to mention at Gamescom. Or any other Vita game, for that matter.

    AlemanGC 20 August, 2014 @ 4:26 pm

The vita is the black sheep of the sony family, nobody even wants to remember it ever happened.
