Joe Danger hurtles onto PS Vita next week

Hello Games’ brilliant stunt bike romp free for PS Plus members

Hello PlayStation Blog! Let’s get right to it! We’re excited to announce that our game Joe Danger will be launching on PS Vita on 3rd September 2 across the SCEE region, via PlayStation Store!

If you hadn’t heard of Joe Danger by the way, here are some nice words people said about it when it launched on PlayStation 3:

“One of the most fun, fully featured games on PlayStation 3” IGN 9.5

“Utterly delightful” – 10 Destructoid

“Ambitious and exciting” – 9 Game Informer

And that’s not all! PlayStation Plus members will get it for FREE as part of their September batch of games! Actually, you might already know this, because Sony’s official PS Plus for September announcement has just made that pretty clear :)

We know it’s been a bit of a wait, but we wanted to make sure it is perfect, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve been able to achieve. It’s everything you’d expect from Joe Danger in your hands!

It runs at a super smooth 60fps throughout, it’s pin-sharp and super colourful. It features every level from the PS3 original, plus the never before released on PlayStation Laboratory levels, making 84 levels in total! That’s a lot of game. Our UK indie friends Four Door Lemon have really helped us make it the perfect version.

What else… There are 25 characters to play as, a full set of Trophies to win, and the PS Vita version features a slightly tweaked control system so it plays really nicely. For the first time you can create your own levels with Vita touch controls! The game automatically downloads player ghosts for you to race against, which is another feature that has never been on PlayStation before, and there are online leaderboards for you to compete on, against your friends and the world.

So you could say it’s more Joe Danger than ever, smaller than ever :D

But what about the sequel, Joe Danger 2: The Movie!? Well, it’s still on the way! We’ll have new news on that very soon-ish.

Loved it on PS3 and always thought that it will be great for Vita, can’t wait for it.

Very much enjoyed it on the PS3 and this is sure to get a lot of attention on my Vita.

Cool! Great week:Velocity2x,Don’t Starve and Joe Danger. My psvita will be so happy.

I’m glad to see the two games approach going this way, I think the events of Christmas struck a chord with most so it’s nice we can support you outside of PS+ (Assuming of course it’s brilliant). And that means you’re almost all free to finish up No Man’s Sky!

Looks interesting, esp wen its free on ps+. Joe Danger, here I come. Yey Yey.

Free on PS+ is awesome. Thanks for that. No cross-buy though is a bit of a downer … for those who won’t get it free you know.

This is the type of game I expect to play in a web browser, not on a playstation console.

Well for me, this is the type of game I would love to play in quick bursts on a great portable platform like PSVita. I think a lot of people are in the same boat.

@ Cyrske
Yeah but if you’ve sacrificed your standard of graphics anyway, you might as well play one of the clones on android… thats what millions of people who dont care about graphics do anyway.

I think most people are in the same boat as me… the boat of people who bought a vita for 3D AAA games.
But not only have they dried up, we are insulted with ports that cant even run at 30fps, losing major exclusives it already had, and now we are left crying to get japanese AAA games at retail since we dont even believe anymore that sony are capable of getting proper support from western developers for the system.

This is exactly the kind of game that shines on the PS Vita what on earth are talking about? Its a well known fact the Vita is struggling to get developer support so games like this are a reason for praise not to come here and complain. Joe Danger is a great little game and it given to us for free(ish).

@cyrske I’m in your boat and a full boat it will be.

Enjoyed it greatly on ps3
And wil love it on vita!

Awesome, loved this game back when it launched on PS3, been waiting for this to hit ever since you guys first announced it.

It sounds like there’s quite a lot of content in there, does full set = platinum trophy?

platinum trophy?_?

Is cross-save available?

I got this on PS+ for PS3 ages ago, always planned on playing it, sadly the PS3 is hardly ever switched on…. the Vita however is hardly ever switched off so I’ll look forward to playing this game like crazy.

Looks like I’ll be getting hooked all over again!

I’m looking forward to this :-) looks like it’ll be really fun on the vita
