Could someone perhaps get word out that the Dark Souls II Crown of The Old Iron King DLC which has just recently shown up on the webstore currently isn’t recognising the fact I have purchased the season pass and is showing as £7.99 in my basket.

KaneTheGoth 27 August, 2014 @ 2:04 pm   2

Pleased to see the Amalur DLC finally on sale!

ZankFrappa 27 August, 2014 @ 2:05 pm   3

Burst out laughing when I saw the PS4 “discounts”. Maybe next time.

    Spence1115 27 August, 2014 @ 2:27 pm

I know. How is Assassins Creed 4 £15.99 on PS3 but £39.99 on PS4?! That’s an insane difference for a couple of pixels.

    counterUAVbaby 27 August, 2014 @ 2:57 pm

Yeah. but the thing is that the publishers decide the prices.

Discounted prices – 40e~50e. It’s like a price of a brand new retail game. On games which are already several months old.

    Crazy_Vantage 27 August, 2014 @ 4:09 pm

@Spence1115 the PS4 has a smaller install base which means that to make the profit Ubisoft needs, the game needs to make them more money on a per-sale basis. A year or so from now, once there’s enough PS4s and Xbox Ones out there with their users buying enough games, you should expect brand-new prices to be more like what we were accustomed to on PS3/360. It’s frustrating but this happens with every generation of consoles.

This is part of the reason I just got a Vita. The games are £29.99 or less at launch versus up to £54.99 for a PS4 game. As someone just going into university, that’s far more per-game than I can afford! Vita should (hopefully) save me some money.

@counterUAVbaby And…..?? Still ridiculous!! I don’t care who sets the prices and the OP [ZankFrappa] wasn’t even directly taking a direct dig at Sony. At the end of the day, the majority of titles (especially AAA) on PS4 when bought online are way overpriced. Slightly cheaper boxed but online PSN has insane pricing!

Gotta keep that Sony Defence Force strong I suppose…
*defend Sony even though they aren’t being attacked… Makes sense…………..

Wow tons of sales. Nice suprise, thankyou Chris!

HI Chris, a bit off topic but I really love to get an answer. Why is Crimsonland still 12.99e and not cross-buy, when the Devs said a lot of times through twitter and this blog, that the price should be 9.99 and with cross buy if you had the ps4 version?

INS1GHTFUL 27 August, 2014 @ 2:06 pm   6

not too bad a sale, although fruit ninja on vita is still very overpriced given its exactly the same as mobile versions.

will we be hearing about the new IGC games for September today?

    Chris Howe 27 August, 2014 @ 3:33 pm

IGC news will be coming up soon

    bend2squares 27 August, 2014 @ 3:48 pm

Chris can we please get the Dark Souls II DLC fixed for those who have already purchased a season pass, we have waited long enough.

Will Mass Effect dlc ever go on sale in the near future? Seems like ages since it’s been on sale.

    Xayden666 27 August, 2014 @ 3:52 pm

Yes exactly, I’m tired of being waiting for ME DLC discounts and also tired to see the same games going on sale over and over each week… Who said Dishonored ?

    melbye82 27 August, 2014 @ 5:26 pm

Unlikely since it was already on sale back in February

THUNDERCAT1973 27 August, 2014 @ 2:07 pm   8

Some good deals there, apart from ps4 which are a joke as usual. Anyone played jojo’s bizarre adventure, is it worth it?

    THUNDERCAT1973 27 August, 2014 @ 3:00 pm

Some of this stuff is on sale so often I don’t know why the prices are not reduced permanently

    Lethalx08 27 August, 2014 @ 3:15 pm

It’s fun, bit similar to SF4 but with side stepping. No where near as in depth & covers the main fights of the manga. If you were to but it, wait for the Prestige version to re appear as it includes all the DLC fighters & looks to be the same price as the Joestar edition which just includes the Joestar (Old) DLC.

I believe there is a demo as well on the store, not sure if it’s still there however.

PeaceWalker233 27 August, 2014 @ 2:09 pm   9

When will be announced PS PLUS september free games ?

zalwelgoedgaan 27 August, 2014 @ 2:09 pm   10

Everything I’m interested in, I already have. Ah well.

Why does the PS4 version of Watch Dogs not hace the same price as the PS3 version? The normal price is same but not when it’s on sale? Why!?

NorthernFusion 27 August, 2014 @ 2:10 pm   12

Atelier! Finally!

Meskyanichi 27 August, 2014 @ 2:11 pm   13

Disappointing to see that a “discounted” PS4 game price is the equivalent of a “regular” Steam game price.

Chris, I can’t see the discounts. All I see is what look like normal prices….

Try after 3:30 BST. The store updates slowly throughout the afternoon

    NorthernFusion 27 August, 2014 @ 2:54 pm

I think what he meant was, the discounts suck for PS4.

    Whoosh

Lol I just skim read it -.- i just ignore the ps4 discounts. The only decent ones were for tomb raider (£20) and thief (£25) at Christmas which was quite surprising a few weeks after launch

Danterikxx 27 August, 2014 @ 2:12 pm   15

why do you keep giving discounts on Dishonored, over and over again?

There is any change of seeing a discount on Prototype 2 or Sly cooper thieves in time, anytime soon?

Andrefpvs 27 August, 2014 @ 2:12 pm   16

Great sales on some Japanese PS Vita titles, I’ll definitely pick up the two Atelier games I’m missing.

Chris, Danganronpa went on sale on the US store yesterday, and I was hoping it would be coming for us today as well, but unfortunately it appears that’s not the occasion. Could you please push for a Danganronpa sale some time soon? Thanks! 🙂

    NorthernFusion 27 August, 2014 @ 2:55 pm

I’m picking up all 3, plus Hyperdimension for the fun of it. It’s been a long time since I’ve been excited about discounts!

DuquesneWhistle 27 August, 2014 @ 2:13 pm   17

Meh, not impressed at all. I’m still waiting for a worthy Wolfenstein discount on PS4.

September PS+ games announcement next?

Dude, the game was discounted like two weeks ago? lol

    DuquesneWhistle 27 August, 2014 @ 3:15 pm

Yup, that’s why I said I’m waiting for a “worthy discount”, if I can get the same game cheaper somewhere else (i.e. amazon) I wouldn’t call it “worthy”.

Atelier sale! Been saving my old 16gb card for the vita trilogy! £30 for all 3 is a steal. All ready spent £200+ this month, really tempted by hyper dimension: PP and disagea 3 but I’m trying to get physical copies if possible to save room on my 64gb card 😛

Atelier sale has definetly made my day

And please persuade bandai to release SAO: Hollow Fragment at retail. I don’t want the poor English subtitled Chinese version and my Japanese isn’t good enough yet for the Japanese version 😛

    NorthernFusion 27 August, 2014 @ 2:56 pm

I think the translation is poor even for the european release. PS: Buy Hyperdimension. 😀

The sale lasts for 2 weeks. I’ll try and make room in my wallet for it 😛 but re;birth1 is launching today too -.- decisions

KaioRaven 27 August, 2014 @ 2:16 pm   19

10 euro discount on a PS4 game that’s been out since release. That’s just depressing. 50 euro voor AC4 when I can get it for 20, maybe even 15 is not a discount.

Wyldedime1919 27 August, 2014 @ 2:17 pm   20

Disgaea 3 (Vita) finally goes on sale and I’m broke…bad times 🙁

Yeah, also not too fond of these sales. Already have lots of these games and those that I want are priced higher than the last time they were on sale. Little King’s Story e.g is 20 euros now while last time, it was 10 euros. :/

But as usual, the sale will probably benefit other people. 🙂

supersmith2500 27 August, 2014 @ 2:18 pm   22

Not a bad sale. And now Namco Bandai hates Plus discounts now?

THUNDERCAT1973 27 August, 2014 @ 2:18 pm   23

Opps didn’t note EDF 2025 will be picking that up.

MaxDiehard 27 August, 2014 @ 2:19 pm   24

I never realised that Puddle was on PS4, and cross-buy.

I got it a while ago on Vita, but it’s saying I need to purchase it again for cross-buy.

    Ants_Pai 27 August, 2014 @ 2:35 pm

Same here, if you’re having the same problem as me when you go on the Vita store, does it not recognise that you even own it? The store says I have to buy it on Vita again, when I a) have it on my vita and b) already have trophies in it. My guess is they just want a few more bob for their game on PS4 and don’t want to give previous Vita owners the game again for free.

Fair dos really though, I don’t think I’d even want to play that game again to be honest.

psyhakiasman2 27 August, 2014 @ 2:20 pm   25

let us have a moment of silence for my wallet

supersmith2500 27 August, 2014 @ 2:21 pm   26

MotoGP13 Compact is not a PSVita game. Please check your errors before posting.

Great Vita sales! Always wanted to try Shinibodo so may pick that up for a measly fiver!
PS4 sales are laughable though as usual!

A valiant effort % wise with the PS4 games. Unfortunately the store prices are ridiculous in the first place. Black Flag needs to be £19.99 at most.

novurdim 27 August, 2014 @ 2:23 pm   29

Atelier Meruru Plus: The Apprentice of Arland
Was €39.99/AU$59.95/£32.99, now €19.99/AU$29.95/£15.99
Additional 10% discount for PS Plus subscribers

So what, is it finally available in Russia? Pretty please? Maybe you simply FORGOT TO ADD IT like in that case with Dragon’s Crown for Vita?

DiogoM07 27 August, 2014 @ 2:26 pm   30

What about IGC for september?

Viscera1900 27 August, 2014 @ 2:27 pm   31

Still no Danganronpa discount…

Ishan_The_King 27 August, 2014 @ 2:28 pm   32

Would anyone recommend buying Splinter Cell HD Trilogy for PS3 if I have already played those 3 games on PS2 before?

    solarwind12 27 August, 2014 @ 5:12 pm

Thats a hard one to say Y/N to, depends how long it will be before you pack ps3 away, making room/(more)time for ps4, then the graphics, to be fair not too bad, even 3d option, but still looks little rough, imo.. did you enjoy them on ps2?, as in replay each till you could ace them with eyes shut.. maybe if yes, but when i bought trilogy (launch) even though i aced about five playthroughs i never got full trophy’s, i know i aced last five, before that the other 6 or 7 attempts i may of messed up, but alas SC HD is glitched, spent too long trying to plat it that i just couldn’t move on properly to the other two games, esp Chaos Theory, the little i did play of That looked just as good as first time playing on ps2, wish i’d of worked backwards.. so price of trilogy is around £5ish, If you really think you have the time for them then it’s no brainer, but if you have backlog then probably best leave it, btw, even the ‘don’t use med pack’ for whole game trophy Never pinged, i’m positive on that, and 2or3 others glitch.

    MaxDiehard 27 August, 2014 @ 6:40 pm

I bought it for the nostalgia factor alone. The graphics look pretty amazing, even for a remaster, but the games are based on the PC versions, so there are quire a lot of differences.

    I’d certainly recommend it.

delta25er 27 August, 2014 @ 2:29 pm   33

Any word on when we’ll get to preorder or simply buy Madden 15 on the UK PS Store? Cheers.

I3loodthirsty 27 August, 2014 @ 2:30 pm   34

For people asking about the ps+ announcement for sept fred said on twitter “4pm bst, touch wood”

Hi Chris! This is probably a bit local-oriented question but maybe you are able to answer(or any of your colleagues): I know you’ve received many questions before regarding Dishonored not being available in several countries (e.g. Poland). From what I was able to understand, this is due to publisher somehow not wanting to publish this digitally? Would you clarify why is it still unavailable, what is exact reason that is excluding Dishonored from being published digitally? I’d love to get this game from your store but I don’t want to be forced to create some additional regional based accounts or use other workarounds in order to get this game. This price is really tempting, for sure better than retail price. I could always get used copy and never look back but maybe you can help at least understand the current status here? If my version is confirmed and this is indeed due to publisher involvement, this game has been on market for quite some time now so it wouldn’t make sense to not allow userbase to get this game digitally (I don’t think game is still selling decently that long after release) . Please note that I am aware I can obtain my retail copy or digital from other region based stores but I would prefer to keep as few accounts as possible.

Keep up the good work, appreciate what you’re doing.

TVsportsCOD 27 August, 2014 @ 2:31 pm   36

There are actually more games that interest me in this sale than there were in the ‘”proper” Summer sale. Thanks Chris and team 🙂

    TVsportsCOD 27 August, 2014 @ 8:39 pm

Any idea when Castlevania LOS 2, Ass. Creed 4 and F1 2013 will be reduced to the right prices Chris?

WOW!! So many vita JRPGs, I cant afford them all but at those are some great prices!!

Any suggestions on what I should get first? I am thinking Atelier Rorona. But also Disgae 3 but also Demon Gaze. Its a nice problem to have 🙂

    NorthernFusion 27 August, 2014 @ 3:06 pm

Go for Atelier, although I think Disgaea 3 would last a lot longer if you were willing to get properly stuck into it.

    KayinAmoh 27 August, 2014 @ 4:48 pm

The Atelier series is utterly fantastic. Meruru’s one of my fave JRPGs in years without a doubt, and while I’ve been too busy to play recently I’ll be snatching up Rorona Plus during this sale.

    Today.

    awesome thanks

Ahmed_Tifa 27 August, 2014 @ 2:34 pm   38

What about Madden NFL 15? is it getting a digital release?

Roxas598 27 August, 2014 @ 2:36 pm   39

Why is disgaea never on sale?

Roxas598 27 August, 2014 @ 2:38 pm   40

Oh wait I apologize it was at the bottom lol derp in my part!

EJStyleS 27 August, 2014 @ 2:40 pm   41

Rare commenter, but felt that the Sniper Elite 3 debacle on PS4 couldn’t be ignored. Bad enough that the price has been $=£ so far (£49.99 = $49.99), but the current discount to £34.99 means that it is still more expensive than the US…plus it’s exempt from the 10% PS+ discount.

deadfolk_ie 27 August, 2014 @ 2:40 pm   42

Nice, but I’d swap them all for Danganronpa.

hitman_stephen 27 August, 2014 @ 2:40 pm   43

I didn’t even want them but highly tempted by Atelier’s, hyperdimensionanananntusinanssisna’s and demon gaze, maybe one or two others.
I recommend Metal Gear’s and Disgaea 3 to everyone too. Great games, even better when around half price!

G-IH-O-S-T 27 August, 2014 @ 2:46 pm   44

Some names here bring good old memories.. Mini Ninjas, Enslaved.. good days
Anyway, can we expect a sale on Dark Souls 2 that is 50% or more anytime? I’ve been having some trouble finding it in retail.. which is pretty weird considering it’s a big game and it’s not even too old..

counterUAVbaby 27 August, 2014 @ 2:46 pm   45

Finally I got to play Splinter Cell HD Trilogy, thank you so much Chris. Hey guys can you give me a mini review of them and which of the thre games I am gonna love more and why?

Certinty 27 August, 2014 @ 2:50 pm   46

Moto GP 14 is £15 on Vita, £25 on PS3 and £37 on PS4. That’s an absolute joke, if the PS4 version was £25 I would have definitely bought it now they’ve just lost a sale.

    counterUAVbaby 27 August, 2014 @ 2:55 pm

The publisher decides the price not sony. Now you are the joke.

    Certinty 27 August, 2014 @ 4:18 pm

I never once stated Sony were a joke in my post and in fact were referring to the publishers of the game, so in fact you are the joke here. Good day Sir.

Zhao_Yun16 27 August, 2014 @ 2:51 pm   47

Great discount on Japanese Vita titles!

Do Rachet and Clank into the Nexus for 5 euro (=$7.50) like in the US store?
PS4 games are to expensive! Nothing for me.

CreditDue 27 August, 2014 @ 3:01 pm   49

always the same games. How about a discount on some games that have yet to make it in a sale for change?

Miro33no 27 August, 2014 @ 3:06 pm   50

I will probably grab Enslaved and one of those Atelier games for vita. I remember playing Mana Khemia on psp a long time ago and it was really awesome. How are Atelier games compared to Mana Khemia ?
