Now if we only had some cheaper PSVita memory card that would sweeten the deal 10x.

    Mario__4__Life 10 September, 2014 @ 2:53 pm

Why would you need a ps vita memory card, there is no games and you cannot play more than one game at the same time anyways. Problem many people have today is too many games and they still dont know what to play. I rather play some masterpiece game like Dead Island or EDF over all the crap that comes out, even Destiny is kinda boring and not better than mass effect tho the moon area is kinda cool.

If only these were available in our store in the first place…

    NorthernFusion 10 September, 2014 @ 3:31 pm

All I heard from you there, Mario, was “whaaaaaaaaaaaaa”. We’re entitled to better options for memory cards, the Vita and its games are investment (of your time), why should we be punished with ridiculously expensive memory cards with very little space?

    Mario__4__Life 10 September, 2014 @ 3:59 pm

Rumour has it people who bought a vita love being punished xD but seriously think about what i said.. You do not need 50 games on your vita card because you cant play them anyways all at once.

“You do not need 50 games on your vita card because you cant play them anyways all at once.”

By that logic people’s gaming collections would consist of only one game…

“people don’t need 50 games on their memory card”
Actually I have 60 on mine, and I play a fair few of the games on there, the rest are in the “to do” pile. Also, while I’m out and about and I’m playing Velocity Ultra and think “huh, I feel like playing some OlliOlli” how can I have it if it isn’t already on the memory card?

Thing before we post people. The Vita is, for me, one of the greatest gaming machines I’ve ever owned (and I’ve owned a lot) but the price of the memory cards is a real issue and it really, really needs to be addressed.

And what about the fact that UK vendors still don’t have the 64gb stick (at least that I’ve seen)? that’s proper bad.

Stop this rubbish about “no games”. I bought a Vita recently, and here’s my “to-play” list:

    – Metal Gear Solid 3 (just finished and platinum-ed it on 2nd time through)
    – FFX
    – Uncharted
    – Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops (I’m trying to go chronologically through the MGS games)
    – Super Stardust Delta
    – FF8
    – Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus (always heard good things about it but never tried it)
    – Valhalla Nights
    – Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker
    – Breath of Fire 3
    – Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2 (the MSX versions; from the HD collection)
    – Killzone Liberation
    – Oddworld: New n’ Tasty (should be out by the time I reach this, right?)
    – Oddworld: Strangers Wrath HD
    – Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
    – Metal Gear Solid
    – Metal Gear Solid 2
    – Resident Evil
    – Resident Evil 2

That’s enough to keep me occupied for the next 18 months at least. I have PS+, so I’ll probably accumulate more interesting games in that time to add to the list. Oh, and I bought my Vita with a code that gives me LittleBigPlanet, Wipeout and a huge bunch of other titles. Oh, and there’s FFX-2 as well (tried it years ago and didn’t like it that much, but I’ll give it another go and see how I like it now).

Granted, many of these are older titles; PS1 classics (many bought during this sale), PSP games and HD remasters. Do I care? Not a bit. I’ll intersperse all of that with a bit of Fifa and some Playstation Battle Royale.

Would I like some more made-for-PSVita titles? Sure. I’d really like a new Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted, Killzone, LocoRoco or whatever. I’m totally fine with what I’ve got, though. I was unsure when I bought it, but now I know I’m not going to return it – it’s still a really compelling package. SCEE and SCEA need to show it some love (and they badly, badly need to redesign the interface; especially the playstation store!). In a world of iPhones and iPads, it was never going to reach the same sales figures as handhelds of the past, but it still has a unique place in the market and provides really enjoyable experiences to gamers like me who want actual games and not F2P, IAP rubbish.

Vita memory cards are overpriced. There’s no denying that. Anyone trying to say something else is being silly. Not to mention that the larger cards aren’t even distributed regionally for example in Australia to add to the ridiculousness.

Vita games are big especially when you take into account patches and dlc. I used to be able to use my psp as a media device with music, video and plenty of games using a 32GB memory stick. Can’t do that at all with the Vita. As it stands with a 32GB stick I have pretty much enough space for Vita games and that’s it.

It’s not about having “50 games” on the devices all at once Mario, it’s giving us the flexibility to do what we want with the device. As it stands I’m struggling for space and would especially like a 64GB so I can actually have a music collection for custom soundtracks and not be continuously deleting and installing games just about all the time now.

ImperatorA3 10 September, 2014 @ 1:07 pm   2

Nice sale, but Metal Gear Solid disappeared from the Belgian store for quite some time and it’s still hasn’t been fixed.

    Jawad Ashraf 10 September, 2014 @ 2:46 pm

    I’ll take a look πŸ™‚

It’s also missing from Croatian Store, which is strange because all other MGS games are there, even MGS: Special Missions…

It was on Croatian store this morning, and now is missing. Same thing happened last time it was discounted. Why remove it when its on sale?

Also, why is MGS Peace Walker HD (for PS3) discounted but the PSP version isn’t (and now costs 3x as much)? Come on Sony, it’s sore enough that we didn’t get an HD remaster for that game.

There was God Eater for PSP on PSN ?! (-.-) How come I didn’t know it (-.-)

buying as soon as sale will begin.

Bit sad that there is no Valkyria Chronicles 2 πŸ™ any chance for it to appear soon?

I might also pick up few PSX games. Thx

    Jawad Ashraf 10 September, 2014 @ 2:46 pm

I have it in my list to pass on for consideration, actually. Keep the suggestions coming.

    Suggestion Ghost and Goblins !

    Tuulenpoika 10 September, 2014 @ 2:57 pm

    @Jawad

Suggestions, eh? Well, Dragon’s Lair for PSP was never available with a sale price, like the PS3 version. It should have been. Also, on PSP RPG department, Riviera, Aedis Eclipse, Lunar Silver Star Harmony, Tactics Ogre and Generation of Chaos: Pandora’s Reflection could use a sale treatment. Also, Bomberman Land, Guilty Gear games and Megaman Maverick Hunter. Also, in spirit of Megadrive Collection, those Capcom Classics Collection games could be cool.

    @Jawad
    Thank you πŸ™‚

Can you also add to your list few of those? Ys games, Tactics Ogre, Corpse Party, Disgaea series, Growlanser, Gungnir, Lunar, Patapons, Persona 1, Mana Khemia.

All in all picked up like 5 games (1 PSP + 4 PSX) from this week sale and RPG’s Magnificent Seven pack from last week (I was waiting to see this week sale :D)

    Thx for hard work! πŸ˜€

    X_Blood_Curse_X 10 September, 2014 @ 4:23 pm

    @Jawad

I second everything these guys said ^

Seriously just go nuts with all the PSP RPG’s, Action RPG’s and Tactical RPG’s and I’ll buy everything that’s Vita compatible!

    Thanks a bunch!

Tactics Ogre and Jean D’Arc needs a re-release somewhere, god those games were mint πŸ™‚

Tales of Eternia? Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins needs to be seen again too, real good exclusive.

Awesome sale! Thank you very much! πŸ˜€

it’s official: Worst sales ever made

    WearingFin 10 September, 2014 @ 1:15 pm

As a PS4 owner, i strongly disagree. That award goes to the EA sale.

    Mario__4__Life 10 September, 2014 @ 2:54 pm

Its so cool to hate on EA! Like sony games ever get good discounts and no crappy $29.99 hat DLC as in last of us

    NorthernFusion 10 September, 2014 @ 3:32 pm

@WearingFin Just got my PS4 yesterday, and realised in 5 minutes that I won’t need to visit the Playstation store until Plus games come out. πŸ™

    @NorthernFusion
Man go get Transistor, now. Do it. I’m waiting. And while you’re there look at TowerFall, Child of Light, Road not Taken, Gaucamelee, Ground Zeroes, Second Son, First light and P.T πŸ˜€

Seriously, go to the Demo section and Play P.T

zalwelgoedgaan 10 September, 2014 @ 1:09 pm   6

Lots of titles, some decent prices (everyone get God Hand), but…

…we really need more PS1/PS2 classics in the webstore. Hell, give us a SECTION on what is available. The US webstore has it!

When I started looking at the US store, it was quite a revelation to see so many titles that I wanted to play that weren’t on the EU store.

    Agree!

SCEE doesn’t even upload “imports” anymore… I won’t believe that they have problems with rights to those titles. But yes wee need more games be it PSX/PS2 or PSP.

US imports and Japan imports that’s what we need… (I don’t even know if there is section “imports” anymore on PSN)

    zalwelgoedgaan 10 September, 2014 @ 1:24 pm

PS, if you need convincing that God Hand is a bad*** game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1beb37nGHw

Yet those fools at Capcom didn’t put him in Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Agreed, why the hell do we not have a easily browsed section of Ps1/2 classics? With this sale it means we can actually FIND the damn games.

Fantastic sale guys now can you PLEASE update the store so that we can easily find these classic games normally. It’s ridiculous that you can’t just goto a ps1 or ps2 section of the store!!

Tuulenpoika 10 September, 2014 @ 1:10 pm   7

Thanks for a great sale lineup! Now that we’re talking about classics, how about some… additions? Like some games that have seen European release in the past for PS1, but for reasons unknown never made their way to European PSN, even though they are available in the US PSN?

In my case, I hope you could look into bringing over games like Suikoden 1 (and maybe even 2), Breath of Fire 4 and Legend of the Dragoon.

Also, you were talking about some sort of upcoming PSP sale during the summer. Now that the PSP PSN Store is going to be closed, how about having that sale soon? It would have been really cool to have it this week, but seeing this sales page, I’m thankful that you decided to include some great games for PSP as well.

How about a news page meant to be a user poll for which games we would like to see in the upcoming PSP sale?

I would kill just to buy Suikoden and Breat of Fire 4

Those games are so much better than most of stuff that is usualy offered now for Vita. Huh… good old times… I’m getting too old πŸ˜›

I would vote for Vakyria Chronicle 2 πŸ˜› and VC 3 for Vita (doesn’t exist “yet” :D)

any chance of seeing Syphon Filter Logan’s Shadow being added to the sales? it seems every psp sale lately hasn’t had it, you could easily remove the 2 medal of honor psp games for it and no one would case

ItΒ΄s a shame that UmJammer Lammy is nearly unplayable on HDTVs. Some Nice deals…

madmanwithabox12 10 September, 2014 @ 1:16 pm   10

Excellent, been waiting for this. Couple of questions:

1) Are all of those PSP games Vita compatible?

2) What’s going on with those PSP games that recently came to the store that can’t be played on Vita? They NEED to be on Vita. =(

    AntitheusX 10 September, 2014 @ 1:24 pm

    Dear Jawad,

I’d like to know about compatibility as well.

    C&C
    Crash Bash
    Tekken
    Tomb Raider
    Sim City
    MGS
    Theme Hospital
    Theme Park
    Oddworld

    *Most state PS3/PSP compatible.

Can we play the above on PS Vita?

    @anthtitheus

MGS, Tomb Raider and Oddworld (both) work for certain since i actually own them and they downloaded fine on vita this was outside of that time when everything was suddenly downloadable, i can even download them now if i wish

    AntitheusX 10 September, 2014 @ 1:38 pm

    @pn3b0y

    Thx 4sharing!

Does anyone know about the C&C series? (Nostalgic here)

I’ve read all digital PSP ports are vita compatible. Store should reflect it better for us newcomers.

    MaxDiehard 10 September, 2014 @ 1:41 pm

    Theme Hospital isn’t compatible.

    Payno007Snake 10 September, 2014 @ 2:25 pm

Please get Theme Hospital compatible with the Vita!

    Jawad Ashraf 10 September, 2014 @ 4:53 pm

Please check the descriptions on the product page for Vita compatibility. In some cases you may be able to transfer from a PS3, but the notices on the page are confirmed compatibility.

    thatbasedgamer 10 September, 2014 @ 8:18 pm

Majority of the psp titles are compatible with the vita. Its just that Silent Hill game and Fight Night Round 3 isn’t compatible which is a shame.

Do not buy Twisted Metal Black! SCEE censored the entire story mode out of it: no cutscenes anywhere.

    zalwelgoedgaan 10 September, 2014 @ 1:22 pm

Yup. Also, don’t try to play Umjammer Lammy on your PSP. It says PS3 only so I don’t know if they patched it or something, but at launch it was available for both. In the PSP version, you couldn’t hear Lammy playing her guitar during songs.

Yes, she didn’t make a single sound. In a music rhythm game. Has to be the laziest ROM dump ever made.

    Kinky_Friedman 25 September, 2014 @ 12:32 am

    Crap too late :(.

Dear god, there are some really great games there. I’m probably going to buy Ratchet and Clank Size Matters and Sonic Heroes. πŸ˜€

Anyone know why the ps1 version of theme hospital doesn’t work on Vita? However, cool sale πŸ™‚

AeonTheGentleman 10 September, 2014 @ 1:20 pm   14

Will we ever see “Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together” get a discount?

StealthyBigBoss 10 September, 2014 @ 1:22 pm   15

YESSS! MGSPO and some PS1 games for me!
@Jawad Quick question, is there any chance of more entertainment apps for Vita like Netflix or iPlayer?

    Jawad Ashraf 10 September, 2014 @ 2:50 pm

I’m not aware of any at the moment, but we will make announcements if anything does happen on the blog or through press.

Sweet! if i kept my PS3 this would be awesome! but the ps4 took its place..

Jawad is ti too late to add Sid Meyer’s Pirates for PSP? Or at least to consider it for an other sale ?
Also Rising star games was hinted for more sales today, are they coming or I am mistaken ?

QuietlyWrong 10 September, 2014 @ 1:31 pm   18

So does this mean that Creatures 3, Fade to Black and James Pond 2 (all on the list) will be added back to the Store index so we can find them and buy them?

thekillingspree 10 September, 2014 @ 1:37 pm   19

Oh man, I was waiting for Patapon to FINALLY get a price discount but, alas, the PSP selection of discounted games is looking rather meh to me πŸ™
I noticed Umjammer Lammy and wanted to give it another go (after all these years), but I’m not sure if it’s Vita compatible and someone up there mentioned the game to be a crippled port.

I was so excited for this particular retro sale. Now that is here, I am not anymore πŸ™

    thekillingspree 10 September, 2014 @ 8:00 pm

I guess I’ve changed my mind about this sale, since in my PlayStation Store cart currently sits over 30€ of retro games… >_>

Still wishing for the Patapon discount… I know Patapon 3 was discounted earlier this year but, come on, the really good ones are 1 & 2, so PRETTY PLEASE DISCOUNT PATAPON 1 & 2, yes? :3

MaxDiehard 10 September, 2014 @ 1:42 pm   20

They’re doing this sale now because PSN support for PSP is being shut down.

    thekillingspree 10 September, 2014 @ 1:51 pm

    Why? D:
The PSP section is my favourite retro section of the PlayStation store…

PSP store will get shut down, I think next month. Saying that you can still buy and download what you have but only from your PS3 or PC

    thekillingspree 10 September, 2014 @ 2:26 pm

Ah, I see… I was worried I’d lose my games (as with anything bought digitally once they announce the discontinuation of the service), but it’s reassuring to know that links to download them will still be made available even after they’re gone from the store. I guess I’ll just have to rush in and get those 2 Patapon games without any discount while I still can, then πŸ™

I don’t care much for PS1 games, but I will surely miss the PSP store. I honestly haven’t heard anything about the PSP store being shut down, so is there any official statement from Sony with more info about it?

No need to hurry, you will be able to still buy games , but not from the psp console

    thekillingspree 10 September, 2014 @ 2:35 pm

    Ah, I see! (Again, ahah!)
So, only PSP users will suffer from this decision, I can still carry on purchasing PSP games for my Vita, then?
I guess I misread what MaxDiehard said, I thought the PSP section on the PlayStation store would be terminated. But it’s just Sony doing for PSP what Microsoft did for Windows XP recently. Then it’s all cool πŸ™‚

    crimsonidol-de 10 September, 2014 @ 2:37 pm

So when I want to buy games like the upcoming Trails in the Sky SC I have to use the Webstore or PS3? Such a shame.

last_soldier97 10 September, 2014 @ 1:45 pm   21

All good old games that i still have in my shelf at home πŸ˜€
All those memories πŸ˜€
Maybe I should play them again soon.

    GΓΆr det! πŸ˜€
I think I’m on of those “Whales”…buy it digitally as well as physically πŸ™‚

Any chance of the Tomba games appearing on sale?

MattLong78 10 September, 2014 @ 1:53 pm   23

I’ve only just got my Vita and I’ve been wanting to catch up with Resistance: Retribution at this price I can’t grumble πŸ™‚

Just map the cam controls on the right stick and it even plays better than PsP

If you have resistance 2 resistance retribution can link with the ps3/Vita for extra modes!

supersmith2500 10 September, 2014 @ 1:56 pm   24

Seriously want to get God Eater so bad. I mean look at all those great deals on great PlayStation classics. And I’m also impressed there is no sign of shovelware. Not even the XS games. ^^

    Jawad Ashraf 10 September, 2014 @ 2:54 pm

Get it. Good game. Hard, but good! And the end song is (like) the best thing ever. Plain OTT madness that everyone doesn’t realise they want-no, need!

    thekillingspree 10 September, 2014 @ 3:11 pm

    Is it Vita compatible?

    supersmith2500 10 September, 2014 @ 3:27 pm

    @thekillingspree
    Yes it is,

    @Jawad
Yup, Namco really made some great RPG’s. You should try out Sword Art Online as well, Now if only would release God Eater 2 for Vita for the west. : )

    thekillingspree 10 September, 2014 @ 3:53 pm

Thank you, supersmith2500! It shall be mine later this week, then πŸ™‚

oh dear sweet baby Jesus YES! Would love to see Rage make it west, PSV and PS4 version both πŸ™‚
Been thinking about importing the limited Vita edition but apparently I can only have 2 Vita’s tied to my account and my pimped up OG with P4G decals will never go neither will my FFX-X2 Vita go….man decisions decisions.

Theme Park, Theme Hospital, Populous, and Future L.A.P.D are still incompatible with with Vita wheras it is in the US… Been waiting for 2 years now and they still aint compatible. Will someone at Sony or EA please get these games to workkkk

Would be nice if you could sort out the discount from last week. The rising star plus discount was supposed to be sorted.

    Jawad Ashraf 10 September, 2014 @ 2:56 pm

There was some confusion with the post and what was detailed and unfortunately we won’t be going ahead with the extra discounts. Sorry πŸ™

    Kinky_Friedman 25 September, 2014 @ 12:40 am

Very unprofessional of SCEE I have to say. They should either state that there is or isn’t going to be a PS+ discount instead of messing about and giving mixed messages to their customers.

Some nice games here. I love me some sweet graphics but as another overhyped fps is hoisted upon us it is a pertinent reminder that graphics aint everything.

I have my Ghost edition about 800m from me. Just sitting in the post office waiting for me to pick it up…I can’t. All the hype I had just got drained out of me…no idea why πŸ™ Well I’ll pick it up later and give it to my neighbours kid. He has all the hype left but it’s not his birthday yet so perhaps I’ll wait.

I’ve been asking for this many times: could you please discount the PSP game Gensan? It’s only available through PSN and has been the same price since its release.
It might not be considered a classic, but it still deserves a price drop.

Otherwise, this looks like a nice sale.

Thanks.

Hi Jawad. This is a great sale! I will definitely be buying Gex 3D: Enter the Gecko, possibly Syphon Filter 3 and perhaps one or two others. However, is there any chance that you can get Gex and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko on sale too, please? Thanks!

    Jawad Ashraf 10 September, 2014 @ 2:59 pm

Like the rest, I’ll add it onto my list.

Thanks Jawad! At Β£1.49 and 10% off for PS Plus subscribers; they are classics at no brainer purchase prices, so it would be great to see the other two brought over into the sale whenever possible! Thanks! πŸ˜€

Lovely! Have been meaning to have another look at Blood Omen for ages. Much appreciated.

Nice.

@Jawad Hey man, thanks for the hard work. I have some more coming your way πŸ™‚
Mind filling us in when we’re getting back the ability to sort PS1/2 classics? πŸ™‚
I really miss it πŸ™

It’s official, Sony is ashamed of PS4 >.>

    zalwelgoedgaan 10 September, 2014 @ 3:06 pm

The most retro thing the PS4 has is Knack. XD

how come Viryu? I don’t see the problem. Perhaps when PS4 gets BC(it must come!) and these deals go live again but not for PS4 I would be a tad worried yes….now? Nope.

    HappySpaceInvdr 10 September, 2014 @ 6:20 pm

zalwelgoedgaan: Hardly – PS4 has plenty of titles from the last generation and earlier: Pixeljunk Shooter, Another World, Oddworld, Flower, Flow, Rayman Legends, Minecraft. And we’ve got more to look forward to, like the amazing Gamecube version of Resident Evil, remastered in HD.

    HappySpaceInvdr 10 September, 2014 @ 6:24 pm

Viryu: The fact that no PS4 games are in the above sale tells me precisely the opposite. You only put anything on sale for one of two reasons:

    1) To clear old stock
    2) To stimulate the market and encourage purchasing.

The PS4 needs neither of these – everything is still selling fine at full price.

All the games on sale above are for OLD systems – PS3 & PSP. And the fact that some of the games are also playable on PS Vita is simply incidental.

Instead of a discount how about you gives us some new classics games.
I myself already bought most of the ones i wanted.

Ahh yes, man so many good classics still missing. Would literally burn a home made effigy to the great C’thulhu if I thought it would help.

#TEIEN IS LIFE! #TEIEN IS GREAT!

I have a question : are all Crash Bandicoot, Spyro The Dragon, and Tomb Raider PS1 games compatible with PSVita?
If so, I’ll buy them all.

markopolouk 10 September, 2014 @ 2:57 pm   35

James Pond 2: Codename Robocod isn’t on the store. At all. On any platform or through the web store. Is this something that will be fixed?

    Mario__4__Life 10 September, 2014 @ 4:00 pm

would like to know too cant find it. was an amazing game on amiga, wish the ps3 had a real remake

markopolouk 10 September, 2014 @ 2:59 pm   36

Neither is Fade To Black for that matter

markopolouk 10 September, 2014 @ 3:03 pm   37

I ask out of desperation. Growing up I spent far too much time playing James Pond on the A500 πŸ˜€

Stop complaining about the vita memory cards. Get a job. The vita is handheld gaming for adults. I’ve had a 64gb card for ages; and I have literally dozens and dozens of games on that card and on cartridge that prove vita is the best thing Sony has going.

    zalwelgoedgaan 10 September, 2014 @ 3:17 pm

    “Get a job.”

What’s your job? Inseminating farm animals with your own fluids?

hey ajaJoeTea I kinda see your point but I also see the point of those complaining πŸ™‚
Take my nieces for example, none of them can really afford any “luxury” products as they are booth studying, one in college and the other in high school. Their margins are tight. But hey I have a job, a good one actually so it’s up to me to try and buy their love(I think I have it anyway :D) but I guess not everyone has a uncle like me :/

Serpantino 10 September, 2014 @ 3:09 pm   39

Lots of games I’ve not seen on sale before. Happy with them. (Powerstone, Blood Omen, Klonoa & lots more.)

Jawad, I don’t remember Phantom Brave being on sale before. It’s a PSP game. Can you please look into it?

Hi Jawad, I don’t remember Phantom Brave (psp) being on sale before. Can you please look into it?

madmanwithabox12 10 September, 2014 @ 3:21 pm   42

Jawad, can I please get a response on my above question? I’ve been trying to ask it on the Store Update post, but the comment system is broken and keeps deleting my posts.

hi i can see ps1 wipeout, but where is WIPEOUT HD, its the only game thats not got its hd version on sale??

Jawad, i really want this!!

Does Resistance Retribution support the right thumbsitck on Vita?

Like all psp games playing on Vita ,you can use the right thumb stick, but if you want to be 100% sure for it, I have it and works great

@Jawad Ashraf
Hi. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is for some reason unavailable in Russia. Can you look into it?

MaikelSteneker 10 September, 2014 @ 3:35 pm   46

Sonic Heroes is currently 5 euros, not 3 euros as listed here.

I want to buy some games, but it seems they aren’t available, Playstation Store give me an error:

Fade to Black
Crisis Beat
Namco Musseum Essentials

Sorry for double post, the first didn’t show up.

Faustofausto 10 September, 2014 @ 3:56 pm   49

Great deal, but Persona 3 Portable is still a little bit expensive for a PSP title. I have the retail version, but I would buy for my Vita for a few pounds πŸ™‚
Ooooor… UMD Passport for Europe! πŸ˜‰

JD_LloydLewis 10 September, 2014 @ 3:57 pm   50

I’d love to see retro games on PS Plus, not to replace the current newer games that are on there. Having one or two retro games added alongside the current model would be great. I feel I have missed many good retro games but often they seem overpriced and playing missed PSP games with a larger screen, dual sticks and other improvements on the PS3 and PSP would be great, especially since the PSP store is going down.

    thekillingspree 10 September, 2014 @ 4:45 pm

Indeed. I’d take in a heartbeat some AAA PSP games instead of the overflow of indie games we’ve been getting on PS+ lately.

    JD_LloydLewis 10 September, 2014 @ 5:09 pm

I like having Indie games, but having a monthly retro game retro game alongside the current games would be cool!

    thekillingspree 10 September, 2014 @ 5:32 pm

I like indie games, too. But what I don’t like is constantly getting indies only on IGC month after month, specially when it’s hard to find a genuinely good one among them. So, switching them for a AAA PSx title every now and then would keep things balanced, I’d say πŸ™‚

    JD_LloydLewis 10 September, 2014 @ 5:45 pm

Yeah I see what you mean, I’m happy with getting Indies on my Vita, I feel it fits Indies well. I’m not really big on Indies on PS3 and PS4, but the PS4 is still new so giving away AAA titles already is a big much too ask. I would happily take a PSX or PSP game each month to play on my Vita instead of a regular game but I think it would anger more people that it would please! I have hadly had a complaint about PLUS for a while now, but there are a lot of people hating it on recently D:

    thekillingspree 10 September, 2014 @ 7:01 pm

I only began using PS+ since last December and I noticed that during 2012-2013 the IGC games for Vita were so much better than the ones being offered this year. There’s too much LEGO cr*p being thrown at us, too many indies, not enough AAA or even AA titles from bigger companies (what I like to call “regular console games”, the kind of games I’ve been playing since my SEGA Mega Drive). What puzzles me is there are so many great, bigger games to chose from, so I’m left assuming that third party publishers (indie companies excluded, obviously) do not wish to have their games included on IGC (I’m not even counting with Sony ones, since there are barely any new Sony games being released for the handheld).

Indies suit the Vita well, true. I love a bit of Velocity 2x, TxK, FEZ and the like every now and then, they’re great for short bursts of gaming, quick pick up and play action. But thinking that people buy a Vita to play indie games or as a “PS4 companion” is a misleading notion that Sony seems to be forcing onto the media.

Well, I’m probably digressing and rambling now (I tend to be good at that). The first month I joined PS+ they had a PSP GTA game on IGC, so I actually thought it was normal to give away PSP games on IGC, which made me happy. Sadly, I think it was the only PSP game on IGC ever since. Anyway, I wholeheartedly agree with you, while not really appreciating PSX games, I’d love to see more (AAA) PSP games on IGC every other month πŸ˜€
