Watch the brand new DRIVECLUB TV spot now

Look out for it on your screens from next week

With less than a week until DRIVECLUB hits shelves and the PlayStation Store, I’m excited to share the official TV ad with you all. You get to see it here first before it even airs on TV.

The ad follows a selection of gamers from around the world as they pledge allegiance to their club, by taking “The DRIVECLUB Oath”. Forming part of a globally connected group, they’re focussed on earning fame and glory of their club, whenever and however they race.

Take a look, and watch out for it on TV starting from next week.

Also, keep an eye out for the official print ad supporting The DRIVECLUB Oath.

Measured by Sony’s standards that commercial is rather bland. Good idea, weak execution. Let’s hope that the game will convince better. :)

… Did you hear that? That was the sound of people who drove off after hearing that Logitech wheels won’t be supported.

Also… in which countries there will be this add? If UK only than you shouldn’t have write anything here, because it is not UK page it is EU page.

2.1

Well, there is no such thing as PS UK blog, so where else to put it ? Have you ever seen any PS4 game commercial on your TV in Polland? Because in Czech Republic they dont publish commercials… I guess that they play them only in English speaking countries, of course…

They run some of their commercials in Germany too. But it’s next to nothing compared to what Microsoft invests.

@AdamBogocz & @Golwar
That’s the thing, I didn’t see a single commercial in Polish TV so far. And I get the feeling that SCEE is investing their money only in UK, their whole policy is UK oriented, prices are UK oriented… they really treat whole SCEE as a UK company. I really get the feeling that they are incapable of understanding that UK is not whole EU.

That’s why they fail, they are just unable to understand that EU =/= UK, things which might be well received in UK probably won’t be well received in other countries.

And Xbox One commercials? yeah I see them all the time! 5 times per day, even if I’m not watching TV much lately. And those commercials are good one, not directed to kids which don’t buy game. They are directed to adult audience, and filled with action. Microsoft exactly knows that you need to advertise your products! For god sake Freedom Wars and Vita TV are coming to Europe! This should be advertised! And not in UK only! But in whole EU.

Great ad, looks like a superb game. Can’t wait.
Now give us a Vita version too :)

I am sooo annoyed right now. I have been looking forward to this game since the E3 2013 and only know have i found out that Evolution Studios have signed exclusive functionality of steering wheels to thrustmaster!!!! I am not minted and cannot afford a PS4 game and a brand new steering wheel. The one i have is a PS\GT5 series steering wheel and as far as i was aware these would have been supported for future PS4 racing games. Everyone who loves racing games knows how impossible it is to enjoy a racing game with a controller once you discover the amazing realistic reactions of a quality steering wheel. I am a motor racing enthusiast and have been regretting investing in the PS4 but told myself, hold out for drive club it will be epic. I don’t care about the ps+ version i was going all in for this one. Now i can’t be bothered with either. You can make the game better looking , better network multiplayer functionality and more realistic looking all you like but for me the minute you ha...

If i am wrong i take it back but man am i dissapointed.

Personally I’m looking at it this way.

If it plays okay with the controller then I will play the PS+ version, if it doesn’t then of course I won’t. But had it supported my Fanatec wheel I would have pre-ordered the full game upgrade.

There is no doubt that not being able to use my wheel, even if it plays well on controller, will reduce my enjoyment of the game. A big reason I was able to rationalise buying an expensive wheel was that Playstation had always supported generic PC wheels ever since they used USB ports, so to say I am disappointed is an understatement.

5.2

Incidentally I think its Playstation itself that has entered the exclusivity deal, the PS4 itself refuses any racing wheel with a high polling frequency if it doesn’t have a PS4 security chip.

That kinda makes it worse as it shows that they are okay with allowing inferior low-frequency polling last-gen Thrustmaster wheels rather than allow high-quality wheels to work.

5.3

Evolution didn’t sign anything
Other wheels don’t work because PS4 is not compatible with them, got nothing to do with Driveclub or Evolution.

All your ads suck lately.

Lots of people with a controller, hardly any gameplay. Sort it out.

… true… the one for Gamescom looked like add made by someone on crack… showing people on LSD…

I wonder how much money they paid for it…. well… probably too much.

I agree that these ads with people (a la Nintendo Wii) suck intensely, they need to go back to the PS1 days abstract, crazy ones or some of the ones they did for ps3 like Michael etc.. Or better yet, bring back the legendary Kevin Butler!
On the other hand, I think we see entirely too much gameplay nowadays. I feel like I hardly ever get surprised anymore since we see so much of the footage before getting our own hands on it.. A little demonstration once in a while to show off the technical aspect is alright, but they show so much nowadays.. This is why I love well done CGI trailers, they are complementary and leave space for interpretation, not to mention looking way better than ingame trailers..

So, when are you annuncing the support for other wheels than the plastic mf-wheels you trying to force us to buy…?????!!!!

Support for Logitech wheels!

“or here” is missing the hyperlink.

The ad is ok but should have some more gameplay.

Chris

if i buy the PS+ upgrade i get extra cars + xp boost at the moment.

Is that for preorders only ?

Or do u also get that package if u buy it once the demo-version is released ?

#thisisfortheplayers. As long as u don’t own a Logitech wheel!!!!

We(in the UK) need more PS4 Adverts please. I am getting bored of seeing loads of Xbox ONE Adverts now on TV every night(it seems) :-/

Wait..you want more commercials?

No Logitech Wheel support == No Purchase.

I wasn’t all that hyped about this game. That was until very recently. I watched a trailer on the IGN app, it wasn’t even a recent trailer, it was a few month old and was all gameplay highlighting the games dynamic dusk till dawn time cycle.

I swear to GOD what I saw when it was daylight and they were racing up the hill looked like an actual REAL race on a YouTube video or something. The background, the road, the cars, it all looked photo realistic and it seriously blew my mind.

If you’ve not seen it you should check it out. It’s bound to be on YouTube if you don’t fancy looking through IGN app. Dusk till dawn racing it’s called. Watch the first couple minutes in daylight, keep an eye on the track and surroundings.

You tell me that Driveclub doesn’t look like an awesome looking racing game.

Real life photo graphics here we come.

YOO we got TV ad up in here? Sweet!

Next week? There’s a guy broadcasting the game right now from his PS4, what’s that? Like 6 days early? I wonder who his supplier was

Just cancelled my copy of it doesn’t support my Logitech steering wheel then what’s the point I was really looking forward to driveclub looks like I will have to stick with grand turismo. Sort it out sony

No Logitech support no purchase. Don’t care about exclusive deals. Spend too much money on my driving setup to be forced to buy a a crappy overpriced wheel with farce feedback or a crappier force feedback wheel without…

Race in hundreds of online & offline players

sorry, had too =)

Why has the delay to the PS+ version not been mentioned on here yet it’s all over the internet?

Hahahahahaha, I can’t believe the nerve of this ad. Look at what they said above in this stupid oath.

“Even when our Allies lay DORMANT we shall stay connected as one”

You should take this down as it is embarrassing, you are not connected and if anyone is Dormant it is Evolution Studios and Sony.

Im enjoying this game all though when playing online it seems to take forever to load into games in turn telling me there is a connection error firstly thought my wifi is crap but online play on other games are direct and very quick leaving me quite disappointed. What good is gaming being more fun online if online service doesnt eork well? ??
