Why can the ps4 still not do mp3 custom soundtracks? I like to hear my language learning and audiobooks while playing racing games/GTA. Thanks for the new sales

Agree. Nothing is fun as learning Mandarin Chinese or listening to an audiobook of Ulysses whilst playing the latest Need for Speed to FIFA.

Rayman Legends for PS4 is currently £18.43 on Amazon. It’s usually around £20 in stores everywhere too. So even with this £5 discount…. what planet are you living on? Is someone high up in SCEE so dense that they think RRP=digital price?! Go look in a Game shop, a supermarket, or any other online store for the real price.

    TimeSkipLuffyUS 8 October, 2014 @ 1:54 pm

As far as I know the prices are set by the publishers.

    a_certain_mr 8 October, 2014 @ 1:57 pm

They’re give a recommended price in the UK, they aren’t set. The same price is “recommended” to Amazon, big supermarkets, game stores, online game stores etc. for the physical copies, which are always lower prices.

This is aside from the fact that a digital copy doesn’t have printing, packaging and distribution costs attached which inherently makes them less expensive, so if anything I would expect them to be able to discount MORE than the shops.

    a_certain_mr 8 October, 2014 @ 1:58 pm

As in the recommended prices are the same, but the shops choose to sell for a lower price.

    @TimeSkipLuffyUS
    Not really,

Wholesale prices are set by the publisher the one who set retail prices is SCEE. We have already seen how retail price was more than 50% higher than what publisher proposed.

No. The publishers set the digital prices. The same as they do on Steam, and the same as they do on XBox.

Do some research please. Sony have a say, but a very small one.

I seriously doubt that PSM has the same pricing structure as AAA titles. You can pretty much guarantee they are worlds apart.

    a_certain_mr 8 October, 2014 @ 2:07 pm

@Helrain I’ve read that before, and it is complete PR BS nonsense. In the UK and EU it is illegal for suppliers to directly set the price of goods it is ALWAYS up to the retailers discretion.

If Sony wanted to match the prices of games in store (even though given the lower cost they should beat prices in stores) they could. Simple as that.

    a_certain_mr 8 October, 2014 @ 2:10 pm

@Helrain separately and out of interest – why are you defending this? You want to pay higher prices for digital? As a consumer… it baffles me that there is any argument for this.

    Archacus 8 October, 2014 @ 2:26 pm

    @Helrain
Really… your research source is eurogamer? …. ok

Yup this one is from PSM but it is similar in PSN. SCE Dev NET sucks when it comes to faqs or any kind of explanation, but publishers sometimes complain about how their prices gets much higher than they wanted.

Hey the pre order cars for driveclub still get errors when trying to download here in Australia, is there an eta for a fix?

    MaxDiehard 8 October, 2014 @ 2:09 pm

The servers are having problems, on top of that, the PS+ Edition has been delayed until further notice.

Most probably on launch day/day before. its happened with previous pre-orders i’ve made

    KaneTheGoth 8 October, 2014 @ 2:37 pm

The official response on the US Blog:

“We’re temporarily holding back the PS Plus Edition while we work to improve online connectivity and server load for DRIVECLUB to support all of our players.

We will keep you informed as we make progress and as soon as the servers updated sufficiently there will be announcement to confirm when the PS Plus Edition will be available for you to download.

We’re sorry that PS Plus members are having to wait longer and we’re working hard to get the game to you as quickly as possible.

Further info is being posted to our official DRIVECLUB facebook page, where you can also find the full message about the server limit issues we’re currently working on –> http://on.fb.me/1qfy19i

I recommend EDF for Vita for £4!

Mario__4__Life 8 October, 2014 @ 1:52 pm   5

Well@ Sales .. Hitman Absolution (PS3) Is a great deal and it DOES support custom mp3 soundtracks on the best Sony console ever PS3 😀

Nothing for me today. I’m still waiting for a sale on Sumioni for the Vita and Metal Gear Rising and Asura’s Wrath DLC’s.

Faustofausto 8 October, 2014 @ 1:53 pm   7

Hmmm, not bad. I’m intrested in some Vita games 🙂

@Jawad
Hmm… nothing for me 🙁 Well I will still wait for sale for PSP games 🙂

Anyway I have question. I know that it is not your job, so I don’t expect you to do it. But if you will have chance to talk about it with someone I would be greatful.

Would it be possible to make something like “freedom wars week” before release in EU?

I mean large block of articles about games, each day different topic like

For example
Day-1 – plot
Day-2 – characters/character making
Day-3 – Panopticons
Day-4 – weapons
Day-5 – enemies
Day-6 – crafting
Day-7 – online modes

This game deserves more spotlight! And sadly premiere is soon and we know nearly nothing about it, we still don’t know which panopticons we will be able to choose.

So yeah… if you would talk with someone about it I would be greatful! But I know that’s not your job, and I’ve been asking you way too many things lately. So I will understand if you won’t even read it!

Anyway thanks for your time.

Cheers

    X_Blood_Curse_X 8 October, 2014 @ 1:59 pm

Some news one Freedom Wars would be good, game seems to have vanished. Bought my copy already anyway though

    FREEYADUM WARSU

    Archacus 8 October, 2014 @ 2:21 pm

    @X_Blood_Curse_X
Yeah, pre ordered mine as soon as info about day-1 bonus was added.

Kinda wondering how much I will need to wait… if I will be lucky it will be located in giant Amazon storage in Poland… If I will be unlucky it will be sended from storage in Holand :/ Either way… I will still need to pay about 6 GBP more for delivery…. huh….

But ow well… for me it is day1. But it would be good to show Freedom Wars a bit more, that’s really a great game! It might be system seller if only SCEE will advertise it as Vita flagship.

At least some of the sale prices almost match retail prices. Progress.

To the poster above. SCEE don’t set the store prices. The publishers do.

    Archacus 8 October, 2014 @ 1:57 pm

Hmm… not really that’s only half of the truth

Publisher set wholesale price, SCEE set retail price.

It is nothing unusual to see retail price way way way higher than proposed wholesale price.

    a_certain_mr 8 October, 2014 @ 2:00 pm

Publishers set a recommended price – an RRP. They set that same price to everyone. Just all the stores chose a reasonable price because £60+ for a new release is nonsense and they know it. No one seems to have told the sony digital guys however…

    Also, nice avatar 🙂

    Jarskaaja 8 October, 2014 @ 2:03 pm

If only someone told retailers outside the UK that €70 is a ridiculous price… Too bad UK is the only one enjoying these discounts at retail.

millgate1 8 October, 2014 @ 1:54 pm   10

€17 for Mortal Kombat on Vita? THANK YOU! I was so close to buying the game yesterday but decided to wait just in case of a discount. So glad I waited.

Cool EDF 2017 Vita offer.

Fight me.

Icarus_dgt 8 October, 2014 @ 1:55 pm   12

After what you pulled with Driveclub, i’ll pass. Ty

Give it a rest! You honestly think Sony and/or the developer wanted this to happen???

demonsgalore 8 October, 2014 @ 1:57 pm   13

Still way too expensive. I’ll never go digital until you give us realistic offers srsly…

miky_magawolaz 8 October, 2014 @ 1:59 pm   14

How about a sale on PSP titles that never received a discount in the last couple of years, i.e. Lunar Silver Star Harmony and the likes?

Tuulenpoika 8 October, 2014 @ 2:00 pm   15

Is there any new info about the Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles thing?

TrueMurton 8 October, 2014 @ 2:00 pm   16

PS+ Demo for Drive Club has been pulled as of 11am. Will the store update post mention that fact? Or will it just simply list all the games barring the demo as is usually the case when a game is missing?

Crimson Land still hasn’t had the cross buy entitlement attached to it in EU, its only been two months.

As for the sale, really difficult to justify buying retail games digitally now that know my girlfriend can’t play them on her PS4 despite her account being a sub of mine. Maybe one day she’ll be allowed to upgrade her account seeing as there’s literally zero benefit to holding a sub account any more.

    Dark_Overlord 8 October, 2014 @ 5:58 pm

I did ask Jawad about Crimsonland he said it should be sorted (It’s still not) and hopefully he see’s this and sorts it 🙂

I did phone SCEE and they said that offer is for USA only, yet the Vita version lists it as cross buy and 10ton say it is too, so it’s Sony’s problem that it’s not working :/

INS1GHTFUL 8 October, 2014 @ 2:01 pm   17

im so glad i didn’t buy Swapper when it was released. Ill be grabbing it now.

I don’t see it on this list are you sure it’s there? I also want to check that game out.

The Swapper isn’t part of this deal?

    The Swapper (PS4/PS Vita/PS3)
    Was £11.99/€14.99/AU$22.95, now £6.49/€7.99/AU$11.95

Wait – it’s supposed to be

Nope – just heard it’s been cancelled. Good ‘ole Sony

Jarskaaja 8 October, 2014 @ 2:02 pm   18

Why is Assassin’s Creed Revelations DLC NEVER on sale? It’s the only AC content that has never received any kind of discount. It’s absolutely ridiculous to have to still pay €10 for each pack when you can get entire games, even AC3, for that money.

    Shadiochao 8 October, 2014 @ 2:13 pm

When I saw all the Assassin’s Creed listed, I got all excited for Revelations DLC. I didn’t know that it’s a common occurrence for it to be excluded. That’s strange.

It’s now the only Assassin’s Creed DLC I need after having bought all the others on sale in the last year.

Can anyone recommend bound by flame? I’m after something reasonably priced to keep me going on ps4

    TrueMurton 8 October, 2014 @ 2:06 pm

Tempted by that myself, its not that good but at 20 quid it doesn’t have to be great.

    Icarus_dgt 8 October, 2014 @ 2:13 pm

As a huge RPG fan i would say no. I know that it comes down to taste, but this game has a lot of issues and is mediocre at best. Might as well save your money and just replay a game you loved in the past.

    DaveInTheWoods 8 October, 2014 @ 3:23 pm

I like it. The rest of the word seem to hate it though.
It got some issues, its AA, not really AAA stuff

    DavisonACT 8 October, 2014 @ 11:20 pm

As a huge RPG fan – and unlike Icarus – I reckon go for it if you like decent action RPGs. The combat is fun, the skill list has some nice moves in it, crafting is okay, story is cheesy. I bought it at full retail and have had my money’s worth.

Yet again the PS4 games in a sale aren’t up to much.

Really decent prices in regards to the Vita and PS3 games though; especially from Ubisoft. It would have been even nicer if Ubi had given us some PS Plus games recently, seeing as this time last year we got Assassin’s Creed 3 and Far Cry 3 from them in successive months.

A bit strange EA doesn’t just discount all of the available DLC for Dragon Age and Mass Effect at once, rather than put one or two pieces of story content up at a time. I’d much prefer that as i might be inclined to snap them all up.

    HeikeStagBeetle 8 October, 2014 @ 3:20 pm

This *is* all Mass Effect DLC (apart from the free DLC packs, and maybe some cosmetic stuff?). Just get it now if you want it.

JecciusC 8 October, 2014 @ 2:05 pm   21

Far Cry 3 – £7.99
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon – £4.99
Or Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon – £15.99 – Maths 🙂

Otherwise not bad 🙂

Nice sale but why is rayman only £30 discounted its usally £20 (£18 with plus) in every other sale its been in.

i’ll be picking up Earth defence force, one piece vita andAC freedom cry.

What are your guys thoughts on bound by flame? very tempted at £20

Lethalx08 8 October, 2014 @ 2:13 pm   23

I second news on Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles.

Also any potential sales for Mega Man Maverick Hunter X & Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max ?

KaneTheGoth 8 October, 2014 @ 2:13 pm   24

Any chance of Dragon Age O: The Darkspawn Chronicles appearing in the sale? This is the second DA sale it’s been missed from 🙁

I3loodthirsty 8 October, 2014 @ 2:13 pm   25

Looks like “server issues” are the reason behind the reason for them pulling the drive club demo

http://www.playstationtrophies.org/news/news-14547-DriveClub-PS-Plus-Version-Delayed.html

    DontShoot-Me-Bro 8 October, 2014 @ 2:27 pm

I think its B.S. Destiny BETA which had loads more players downloading and playing at the same time went without a problem. This is a social game meant to be played online to interact with eachother, what does it say about Driveclub or Sony when the game cant even connect online!

Guess a year delay wasn’t enough, I was really looking forward to this game. Wanted a fun racer on the PS4, since NFS Rivals was crap, and I tried The Crew Beta and that sucks, Im looking forward to Project Cars.

jehuty_2174 8 October, 2014 @ 2:18 pm   26

@Jawad

Cool discounts. I ll pick up Everybody’s Golf after the plus discount goes live. But I still have to beg again.
Please please give use a GENEROUS discount on both wipeout HD Fury and 2048. Is sony IP so, the ball is in your court ^_^.

Possibly Mind 0 for me!
Anyone thinking of grabbing Z-Run, don’t! Easily the worsr game on Vita not even worth 50p!

Bound By Flame still to pricey for me to bite!

    Archacus 8 October, 2014 @ 2:23 pm

How about Table Top Racing? 3 EUR isn’t bad price 🙂

If you don’t have it maybe think about buying it now.

It’s not great, but it is good enough to pay 5 EUR for game of this kind. And it is much longer than most of indies.

Anyone who buys Angry Birds at that price should be castrated in public.

    KaneTheGoth 8 October, 2014 @ 2:44 pm

…and how about those kind souls who purchased it at the non-sale price? lol

They probably castrated themselves upon realising the error of their ways, either that or they were forced at gunpoint, there is no other logical explanation.

Smash_41 8 October, 2014 @ 2:21 pm   29

I don’t really have time for these sale games as i’m getting ready to get stuck into the PS+ version of Drive Club today that we’ve been expecting since launch…………oh wait delayed you say?

Cenosillica 8 October, 2014 @ 2:23 pm   30

Damn, just bought prince of persia this morning for €14,99 🙁

But nice discounts 🙂

    KaneTheGoth 8 October, 2014 @ 2:45 pm

There are generally sales ever Wednesday, would always be a good idea to hold off on all Wednesday morning purchases!

May be worth contacting CS. Good luck though, I contacted them a week ago, received an automated response and absolutely nothing since!

DontShoot-Me-Bro 8 October, 2014 @ 2:23 pm   31

Can anyone advise for some multiplayer games from the sale for PS3?, I am soooo bored of my PS4, there is nothing worth playing!, I was waiting for Driveclub but we all know whats happened there, all I have is FIFA 15 and im pretty bored of that, looking to get back into my PS3 especially with some of these cheap deals. Cant wait for next month and some new games for PS4.

Is the Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Vegas 2 servers still up and do people play, the game looks alot of fun?

cheers guys.

    Smash_41 8 October, 2014 @ 2:26 pm

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World is awesome for £1.99

    KaneTheGoth 8 October, 2014 @ 2:47 pm

Army of Two: The Devils Cartel is a great co-op game, and easy to find boosting partners too 🙂

yeah the Vegas 2 servers are still up mate. dont spose you or anyone else knows if the servers are still up for vegas 1?

hitman_stephen 8 October, 2014 @ 2:33 pm   32

I recommend Unit 13 to people, its a really under rated game, i got it day one as my first vita game for full £35 price, and it is worth that, so at this sale price its a bargain!

Amazing spiderman and ass liberation are my most tempted sale buys. ^_^

Unit 13 was one of my first games too 😛 definitely underrated its a steal at that price.

cant comment on spiderman but AC Liberation is one of my favorite vita games, buy you wont regret it at £7 !

    DavisonACT 8 October, 2014 @ 11:22 pm

Very tempted – just need to work out what to move off my Vita to make room. Earth Defence Force also looks good at that price so may spring for the two.

jaykerr8 8 October, 2014 @ 2:38 pm   33

I’ve no idea what Scott Pilgrim’s original price was, but £1.79 is insanely good. Downloading now! After getting the movie and the novels, this is all I need to complete my collection, thanks Sony 😀

Antidrasi 8 October, 2014 @ 2:44 pm   34

I had to sign up with my secondary account cause apparently they’ve taken up some measures to shut off all those who plain and very rightful and justly make go overboard from time to time. Didn’t even bother reading the terms, but I’m guessing things have become more sensitive and stricter, and an example must be maid out of those who dare speak up against the deception and false promises we as customers have been victims at..

On topic, some interesting deals. I wanna finally play Prototype 2 since I fairly enjoyed the first one years ago. But I gotta stick with boycotting every sale, even if I’m alone. Thief and Splinter Cell blacklist are two other games I’m interested in, but it goes without saying that I have zero trust when it comes to your integrity and marketing strategies. For all I know I could get one of those 2 next month on plus, and god knows it’s been far too long since we’ve gotten a decent game other than all those retro/indie pile of junk that never going to play anyway.

You can go ahead and ban this account. I could give 2 *****.

Choco-Molho 8 October, 2014 @ 2:46 pm   35

when i will see a TTG Sam&MAX discount? xp

andrewsqual 8 October, 2014 @ 2:55 pm   36

YES, thanks guys. I asked for the Mass Effect 3 DLCs to be discounted last week and you delivered. THANK YOU SO MUCH 😀

CreditDue 8 October, 2014 @ 2:57 pm   37

How well has Dragon Age aged?

The first one is still worth playing, the second one (even with the discount) is still to much and shouldn’t be played.

    NorthernFusion 8 October, 2014 @ 3:21 pm

First one is amaze balls, the second one not so much. I got it for dirt cheap, so I can’t complain.

    DaveInTheWoods 8 October, 2014 @ 3:29 pm

If you played it before on PC its a bit painful on ps3.
    Otherwise Origins is still OK.
DA2 is OK if you play it for a few hours and then just stop.

    CreditDue 8 October, 2014 @ 3:45 pm

    Thanks for the replies

Dragon Age is FREE on PC (origin) if you redeem it by the 15th October.

theVoltan 8 October, 2014 @ 3:26 pm   38

I guess I’ll finaly get that last Transformers game, then

    damien14273 9 October, 2014 @ 4:20 pm

Wouldn’t bother it’s a very short campaign (about 4 hours) and it’s mostly awful.

DoYouLikeMyID 8 October, 2014 @ 3:29 pm   39

Wait, wait, wait… Let’s just look at these prices for a moment…

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Was £11.99/€14.99/AU$22.95, now £4.99/€5.99/AU$8.95
10% additional PS Plus discount

Far Cry 3
Was £15.99/€19.99/AU$24.95, now £7.99/€9.99/AU$12.95

Far Cry 3 + Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
Was £32.99/€39.99/AU$59.95, now £15.99/€19.99/AU$29.95

Who in their right mind would buy the Far Cry 3 + Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon bundle? It’s 3£ more expensive than buying them individually! Aren’t you supposed to give som incentive to make people want to buy both games at once?

On a different note, there are some decent deals in there 🙂

SCEE were summoned by the math gods to punish those who dare not learn basic addition. The Metro redux bundle was equally punishing to the math poor.

nakano1987 8 October, 2014 @ 3:29 pm   40

When Cubixx HD or Puppeteer (PS3) gets sale? Been waiting for those quite some time.

Why doesn’t Unit 13 have aditional 10% discount for plus members in Croatia?

TianGCstar 8 October, 2014 @ 3:49 pm   42

I’d like too to have a PSP sale in the coming weeks. Here is my wishlist:

God of War – Ghost of Sparta
Mega Man Maverick Hunter X
Guilty Gear Judgment
Patapon 2

So if you could please consider that, that would make me happy. I have such a big backlog of games that I prefer not to buy them at the moment. But with a sale, that would be a different matter and an instant buy.

Why there is no 10% aditional discount for Unit 13 on Croatian Store?

jehuty_2174 8 October, 2014 @ 3:53 pm   44

@Jawad
Some of us are still waiting for some plus discounts to go live. In my case that of Everybodys Golf vita

jamesip3 8 October, 2014 @ 4:55 pm   45

Quite pleased to see rain in sale been wanting to try that for a while. Also highly recommend Splinter cell blacklist at that price, superb game.Still got my Sam fisher statue in living room from 5th freedom edition.

JC--Dude 8 October, 2014 @ 5:19 pm   46

All the discounts are there except the Unit 13 which still costs 59zl in Poland instead of 42. Could you also confirm whether the version that’s on the Polish PSS can be played in English or not?

On the us store buy destiny ps3 digital ,get ps4 upgrade FREE where is the EU same deal ,also AW cod will be doing the same if its digital only will EU be as per ,be put in the corner agian like as the naughty kid?
Last time i looked i payed for my pluss my ps3/4 just as my US m8s infact we pay more ,so any 1 ,also my friends list is loading slow as hell and PM’s take forever ,update so do most my ps4 m8s ,ps3 is ok ,shall i bend and T I U T A now or will we get a ?

So where is the EU same deal for destiny digital as are USA counter-parts as in buy ps3 digital get ps4 upgrade FREE,this seems to be a common thread these days whith deals off 1 kind or another ,and the different country argument won’t fly as the us is built up off states which also differ from one too the next.

Wheres my free destiny ps4 upgrade for buying ps3 digital ,will it ever be on eu store.

bercikosky 8 October, 2014 @ 6:27 pm   50

Great sale. I would like to ask is there some problem with Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 because I couldn’t find it in PS store web page and from psn in my ps3? And if it is, when can it be fixed? I really want to buy this game 🙂

Unfortunately Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2 is not available in Scandinavia and Poland.. I too wanted this game.
