Hi, Jawad.
I want to inform you about the quality of the localisation of the Russian PlayStation Store (all Sony contacts are top secret, so, I’m posting here).
Unfortunately, since the store opening, users are noticing numerous translation errors.
Looks like that the translation is done by someone, who is not familiar with the game industry, and does not understand the terminology.
It is impossible to believe, that the team with the editor can provide such quality.
Moreover, it seems, that their knowledge of native russian language also not top notch – constant mistakes in the spelling and punctuation.
Also, there is countless typography errors (around 30 typography errors on homepage, which are against rules of russian language).

It is painfull to see, what the localisation team has did.
Bad translation coupled with EU store mess is a nightmare.
And yes, EU store is a mess, compared to US store (but this is another topic, and Sony EU doesn’t care).

Couple of examples…
“Vehicle” add-ons are translated as “Car”, and it doesn’t matter, that it is airplane (in War Thunder) or ship (in Assasin’s Creed).
Some “Weapon”, “Level” add-ons are translated as “Character”, some other add-on types also have random translation.
“Bundle”, “Full Game”, “Game Unlock” are randomly used (mostly as “Bundle”, even if there is nothing else, beside a game) between all versions and can differs for platforms.

And some rough english analogies (as if UK store was localised):
“Game language: german, french, united kingdom’s”
“This game (bundle) is expected 7, after in d3/11/2014” – this is for every preorder (seriosly, how difficult is to fix a template?).
“Tank Full Fish Jelly Of Theme”, “vc exfoliage soil of theme” – avatars and themes rarely translated by human, so here it is just a bunch of unlinked russian words without meaning, and some of them are listed as “Game”.

And this is just a small portion – believe me, there is much more problems, which are can not be explained easily in english.

    Golovanov-UK 22 October, 2014 @ 12:09 pm

I will include letter in russian – content is almost same as in english part.
If you know, how to reach translation team or someone, who responsible for the appropriate jobs, then can you, please, relay this letter (including part in english) to them?
Also, feel free to contact me via email, linked to this PSN ID, and I will be happy to help or replace your whole translation team, who don’t want or can’t work properly.
Work should be done well and not for excuses.

The Evil Within”.

Man if people had as much passion about fighting Ebola.

    @Golovanov-UK
Truth to be said, translation of PSN isn’t top-notch in many countries.

Well it’s not that bad… in PL shops there are few weird examples of wordings

like “Platforma” instead of “Gra platformowa” or “Platformówka” (singular)

Or “Okazje i Oferty” when both words means more or less the same “Deals”

But like I said… it’s not THAT bad, and just like in RUS in PL shops they are using way too often capital letters. Well it is standard for British/US to use in titles capital letters, but as you said in most continental countries it is considered as mistake.

    enemymaniac 22 October, 2014 @ 12:57 pm

I fully agree with you. Localization of Russian PS Store is awful.

Its like Russian Playstation Team hates JP games 🙂

    @Golovanov-UK
(I hope you don’t mind me replying in English instead of Russian)

Well, sadly that’s how SCEE works.Hmm… there is forum page… and well, you can also try to write to Mr. Fred Dutton (blog manager) on his twitter and ask him to talk with right people. Sadly Twitter seems like the only way to communicate with SCEE.

But like I said, it’s not only Russian store.

    Golovanov-UK 22 October, 2014 @ 1:27 pm

    @Archacus
It is difficult to believe that Sony can’t afford to hire highly skilled professionals for such job.
Why, browsing Microsoft or Nintendo localised stores, I can’t find any errors?
For example, even if small amount of people here know about WiiU or 3DS, Nintendo still did perfect job, properly translating descriptions for every game, and all mini-sites for selected games have translated flash interactivity and translated videos/manuals.
Sad to see Sony’s attitude towards own customers (and, according to press-release, over 5 millions PlayStation consoles have been sold in Russia).

    @Golovanov-UK
    “translating descriptions for every game”

Store page is one thing and descriptions are another.

All descriptions are translated by publisher of game, so if you spot any mistake in description you should contact publisher. Frankly speaking… I don’t even bother with those… most of times the quality of translation is well…. bad

But don’t get me wrong, I do agree with you.

I read this in Niko Bellic’s voice. I’m so sorry and will let myself out.

Yet another ”meh” for PS4 users… Alien Isolation and The Evil Within for €49.99 or something like that should’ve been doable, not? Forgot about Outlast, Daylight?
I am hoping for some better sales and PS Plus games, but keep up the good work though. If you guys can do it on PS3 you can also do it on PS4, one day.

    WearingFin 22 October, 2014 @ 12:13 pm

No way would Alien Isolation and Evil Within be cut so quickly, but you’re right on the others and Dead Nation would be another. The US sale is spread over two weeks, i can’t help but think it will be the same and those titles will appear then, seems silly not to as we’re still over a week away from Halloween.

Murdered: Soul Suspect, now £21.99. Er, it’s cheaper on Amazon… 😐

Cheaper than the RRP and most of the time it’s the publisher having the final say in pricing. If you find something cheaper, great, good for you!

    Mario__4__Life 22 October, 2014 @ 1:08 pm

Can you play the amazon version on two consoles too ??? Lol

You can play it on as many as you like and sell it after if you want

    TrueMurton 22 October, 2014 @ 6:47 pm

    @mario

You can’t play downloaded PS4 games on two consoles unless you use the ID that purchased it. On PS3 my girlfriend can download games I bought and play them with her own account. On PS4 this isn’t possible, she gets an error message saying that she doesn’t own the game, and her account is a sub of mine so technically, according to the terms and conditions of the sub account, she does own it because her account should basically be part of my own.

Which just fuels the fire for the need to upgrade these accounts really as half the PS4 features are locked to sub accounts as well. She could live without the share button and Facebook integration if she could still make use of my games but without access to our shared library its just a feature lockout. Account upgrades could be implemented in an afternoon, and that’s not an exaggeration, its just a flag on the name, add an option to remove the flag by confirming via email or a nominal CC fee and full features can be enabled. The only thing holding Sony back here is laziness as there’s no business justification for not having an upgrade option.

Decent sale for PS3 owners… Can’t believe I’ll say it, but… I’ll grab a game or two from that list ;p

Any chance of making Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles compatible with the Vita? Otherwise there’s not much point buying it, sale or not.

But no! It was not to be! 🙁

    madmanwithabox12 22 October, 2014 @ 1:32 pm

@SCEE: With all due respect then, what was the point in reaching out to Konami to get these games on sale? You should have been asking them to put them on Vita, like they said they would, and not asking for them to be on sale only for people clinging to a dead and discontinued platform. No wonder Vita is where it is, SCEE are doing nothing to help it.

    @Mad
From what it seems, Konami want those games on Vita… SCEE don’t

    http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PS-Vita-Games/Castlevania-Dracula-X-Chronicles-PSN-Europe/td-p/21920431

    DjangoDiabolik 22 October, 2014 @ 2:12 pm

Jawad, given that Konami themselves have said that SCEE stopped it from going to Vita due to ‘marketing reasons’ I’d like to know why we can’t simply play these games when the US can.

It’s not fair to pass the buck to Konami when they say it’s 100% to do with SCEE.

Wow. Just read that link. Is it possible to be both shocked and not surprised at the same time? It confirms what a lot of people already suspect of scee.

    Arkeologen 22 October, 2014 @ 8:49 pm

Awesome sale. Thanks!

Will try Sumioni: Demon Arts – I’m a big fan of Muramasa Rebirth and Okami and this looks to be in the same vein.

Somebody can help me?
If I played The Walking Dead S01 on PS3 and I buy the S02 on Vita, can I transfer my S01 save to Vita?

EternalChaos72 22 October, 2014 @ 12:14 pm   9

I’d like to add that AC4 for the PS4 is still a rip off.

In other news, ill be grabbing a couple of these games like the RE Chronicles HD collection. and a couple of other things. Nice sale.

Decent sale, gonna keep my eyes out for a couple of these titles. Really in the mood for a scary game, hence the holiday. ;p

Hmm… for Vita I highly recomend buying Demon Gaze for those who don’t mind digital only games. It’s very pleasant game, bit fan service but if you don’t mind it than probably you will like game.

For PS3 Catherine for MARVELOUS social aspect of game, I heard people saying good things about “social aspect” of Metrico… but that frankly can’t compare to what Atlus did in Catherine.

As for me… I don’t see anything for myself. I already have most of stuff.

Anyone can recomend Undead Knight for PSP? Or anything other worth attention?

Oh and bit shame that Darkstalerker Chronicles (PSP) isn’t on sale

    Edit:
Ah pardon… I made mistake, Demon Gaze of course it is not digital ONLY game. (I even have EU retail of it, sorry my mistake)… Dunno what I was thinking about, but cross out that “only”

Demon Gaze wasn’t a digital only title in Europe. I have the UK physical version

    @Izorpo
True, I wrote it without thinking twice. (as I said, I even have retail edition) If I could I would edit it.

Great sale still, though.

    Otaku_BAKA 22 October, 2014 @ 12:44 pm

I agree! Would love to see Costume Quest reduced. Perhaps they’re waiting for the sequel, and will then reduce it as part of the weekly deals? It would seem odd for it to get ignored during the period which it’s tailored for.

Pretty good sale! It’d be even better if the following games were Vita compatible;

Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles
Was £7.99/€9.99/AU$14.95, now £2.49/€2.99/AU$4.55

Silent Hill: Origins
Was £7.99/€9.99/AU$14.95, now £2.49/€2.99/AU$4.55

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Was £7.99/€9.99/AU$14.95, now £2.49/€2.99/AU$4.55

Go on, somebody prod the respective parties. Please?

Can you ask Konami about making Dracula X compatible with the Vita in the EU please?

Any chance PSP/Vita Darkstalkers Chronicles going to appear on the sale? The PS3 version is there, would’ve been nice… (probably not but worth a check)

One question, how is Silent Hill Shattered Memories discounted when it was stealth removed from the store at least a week ago (last time I searched it) neadless to say I don’t expect an answer!! 🙁

#Mario__4__Life . Yes and No. US as better prices way more friendly prices in almost every one. Dead Space 2 in US is 4 dollares here its 6€. And just because we have more it doesnt mean its better. The good ones are in the 2 sales, and like i said its less pricy.

Tuulenpoika 22 October, 2014 @ 1:04 pm   28

Come on! Now that Dracula X Chronicles finally goes on sale it can’t be bought just because of where I and many others live! Why isn’t that game still available in select countries, even though it was before? Even if it isn’t Vita compatible. What’s the problem?

Well… now that PSP is officially not supported, and without PC you can’t even access PSN store… it is kinda weird. I mean… what’s the point?

This sale is really good. I wanted to ask this week when can we have the Castlevania DLC-s and here we go. Sad about Silent Hill only on psp and the don’t understand the lack of Silent Hill Homecoming or SH: Downpour… I pass the Resident Evil ones, I’m sure Capcom will remake them for the ps4 with the graphics of a ps3 game because that’s the Capcom way. Even the ps4 deals are good. Good deals to me. More like this

You know just because a game has Demon in the title doesn’t mean it’s a Halloween title. Nuclear apocalypse is also not a Halloween thing. Yes back in the 80’s everyone sat terrified of nuclear devastation for 1 day of the year. Pirates aren’t Halloween either, could ask some Somalians but they seemingly don’t read this blog. It’s a bit like saying Red Dead Redemption is a chrimbo title because it has red (like Santa suit) in the title.

Nothing for me in this sale as I already have quite a few of the games on special. Killer is Dead (Halloween title huh?!!) The one game about Halloween isn’t even included in the sale (re: Costume Quest) Bioshock a Halloween game? When did drug addled psychopath fiends trying to kill you in an underground city become Halloween?

    Corbotron_5 22 October, 2014 @ 3:21 pm

Contemporary Halloween celebrations revolve around people dressing up and trying and scare each other. It takes pretty much zero effort to work out why the games you’ve listed are appropriate (even if only tenuously), you big killjoy!

I read the list first and pondered whether I should purchase it or not.

I already purchased all the titles that I am interested in, so I guess I’ll just play my older games.

    JustDuane 22 October, 2014 @ 1:17 pm

I was thinking that this would have been the perfect opportunity for the game to get a Vita release. Am most disappointed with this turn of events as I had purchased dracula X thinking it were compatible 🙁

cant understand konami’s policy… you must have [MODERATED] them off ….

Compared to the US sale, this one is pretty méh.

    NorthernFusion 22 October, 2014 @ 1:34 pm

I think it’s better, mainly because there are games I want unlike the US sale.

WARNING: DON’T buy the Darksiders 2 DLC, it’s broken!

Thanks to this sale I now know that Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is available on EU PSN, and yet for some reason I can’t see it on the Store? Blocked for swedish users for some reason? Well, that sucks.

    Arkeologen 22 October, 2014 @ 8:58 pm

So if someone was to buy black flag the deluxe edition plus the season pass, would he be getting the whole package or not? Just curious, of course I ain’t gonna buy it regardless. I wanna finally get my hands on it, but it’s very suspicious close to the launch of unity, and it wouldn’t be the complete edition anyway. Gonna wait a couple of years, if and when I decide to get a ps4.

About the sale… I’m sure there are a couple of interesting titles. BUT not good enough for me to forget about what I’ve stated in the past.

I’m going to echo the comments of many others here and raise the question:

What is going on with the Konami PSP games?

It’s a fault on Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s end, so why is nobody willing to fix it? Or alternatively just offer a valid explanation as to why you think it’s a good idea to keep them PSP only?

Konami’s original blog said they were bringing Silent Hill: Origins and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories to PS Vita via PSP classics. As soon as SCEE got their hands on the games, they became PSP only titles. You’re actually encouraging people to buy a PSP instead of a Vita in 2014? That’s absurd. I’m sorry, but that is just ridiculous.

Very disappointed with this baffling, and honestly stupid, decision.

This is ridiculous, when the hell will the walking dead 400 days dlc ever go on sale. Seriously will it ever go on sale for the ps3, its been on sale on pc several times i believe.

I agree! I waited for this sale thinking it’d probably be in it too. I bought the s1 episodes separately as they were on offer, and have s2 season pass but don’t want to start until I’ve got 400 days.

    FinchyBoy96 4 November, 2014 @ 1:38 am

Can anyone help me? If I buy the walking dead season 1 season pass, do I have to then buy the full game? Or can I play it if I only buy the season pass? Thanks

smile_taisou 22 October, 2014 @ 1:55 pm   46

Can you add Corpse Party?

They can’t add games to active sales.

But I hope that one day we will see sale with some of those games:

    -Corpse Party
    -Disgaea (all 3)
    -Dragoneer’s Aria
    -Fate/Extra
    -Generetaion of Chaos
    -Growlanser
    -Gungnir
    -Lunar
    -Mana Khemia
    -Persona 1
    -Phantom Brave
    -Tactics Ogre
    -Valkyria Chronicles 2
    -Ys (all 3)

But we can only wait ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but if all of those games would go on sale, than probably I would spent more money than I ever did in the past.

That happens only when they clearly say that 2nd part of games is coming. But unless whole new batch of games is coming they are not adding single games.

So if they say that this list is complete, than it is and they won’t silently add new games.

Is there any chance that Diablo 3 on PS4 will go on sale?

Got excited until I saw that the Castlevania and Silent Hill games don’t work for Vita.

Why should we even bother being on the EU service? We get shafted constantly.

The PS1 games? I have both on my Vita and they work a treat.

Do you have a ps3?. I hear, but cannot personally confirm, you can transfer them via ps3

I do have a PS3, but I didn’t need it for those games. I downloaded them both straight from the store onto my Vita.

There are differences between what can be downloaded on the US and EU stores. If you’ve heard of people having issues with these games, it’s because they have US accounts.
