The Muppets Movie Adventures arrives on PS Vita this week

Kermit and the gang invade Hollywood in their new portable romp

Hi-Ho Kermit the Frog here! Well, not really, my name is Adam and I’m the Producer for The Muppets Movie Adventures here at SCEE. Sadly, I’m not a Muppet.

However I do have some Muppets news for you. We are all very excited to share that Muppets Movie Adventures launches in the SCEE region today (and on Friday in the UK and Ireland) exclusively on PlayStation Vita. Hurrah!

#07 - 20140604-0190#08 - Co_Op (5)

The Muppets Movie Adventures takes place across five blockbuster movie genres, ranging from the Wild West in a level called “The Good, the Bad and the Animal” staring Animal himself – to the far reaches of space, in a sci-fi adventure starring Kermit the Frog known as the “The Koozebane Menace”.

Help Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal and Gonzo the Great as they take leading roles in their own Hollywood blockbuster movies. Each level starts off with an encouraging pep talk from the Director, then it’s show time and it’s down to our heroes to battle the bad guys and save the day.

As the stars make their way through each movie, they will come across various other Muppets making their big screen cameos, including Beaker, Uncle Deadly, Pepe the King Prawn and even Constantine himself…

The hugely talented team at Virtual Toys has crafted an amazing set of unique adventures, working directly with the Disney and Muppets studio teams, to bring the Muppets to PS Vita.

The Muppets Movie Adventures is available on PlayStation Store for just €24.99/£19.99. Stay tuned for further details on a trilogy of new downloadable adventures coming to the PlayStation store soon.

I haven’t seen any footage and €25 is an attractive price if the game is good, but please tell me that the Swedish Chef is in it.

Wow, what a lovely surprise! This game looks quite fun (and I’m 32)!

I did not know this was a thing until right this moment, but I’ll be damned if my interest isn’t severely piqued.

This actually looks like fun.

Awesome :), more more!

Kind of random. Especially as a Vita exclusive… this isn’t really what people had in mind when they wanted Sony to start incentivising/reaching out to devs for Vita…

But hey-ho, the more the merrier. It does seem weird that Sony are trying to market Vita towards kids, in a world where mobiles, tablets, 3DS and Skylanders exist. There’s not much ground to be gained in that market honestly, the focus should be the core gamers.

What Vita needs to do is capture the people who had PSP but never upgraded to Vita.

This game looks like a lot of fun and I really like platformers, so I’m sure I’ll like it. However, why does the game only have 12 trophies (no platinum)? Is this just a small PSN game and not a big retail game? I think it’s pretty expensive then…

Retail game with no PLATINUM trophy ??? Realy ??? :(

EternalChaos72 05 November, 2014 @ 15:29

Sorry this has no platinum trophy so i wont be getting this. I prefer playing games that have platinums.

What about ps4 users no wait lol

The vita needs good games, not this!

Heh muppets game, this reminds me of ps1 game muppet monsters adventures, that game was awsome, wish it was on ps1 classics.
I hope this will be good too.

No offence to the team that I’m sure put work into this, but the PS1 Muppets game managed to be full 3D and honestly, looked a lot better than this. At least you’re pricing it decently.

Anyway, this bit caught my eye that no-one else seems to have commented on:

“Stay tuned for further details on a trilogy of new downloadable adventures coming to the PlayStation store soon.”

New HD Collection port for Vita incoming? I thought you guys had ported all your old PS2 games across by now.
