New on PlayStation Store: Battlefield Hardline, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, more

Plus, Jamestown+, Hustle Kings, Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype and new deals

Class is in session. Remastered for PS4, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is unlike traditional FF games. 14 unique characters to control with real time action battles, lots of missions to tackle outside of the main story and tough secret bosses to defeat – Type-0 for the west has been demanded for so long, and from Friday you’ll finally be able to get your hands on it.

Just as important (maybe more so, depending on your stance) is the limited time bonus of Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae, a playable demo of the super-anticipated FFXV. No spoilers, please!

When you’ve finished with class, indulge in a little cops and robbers in Battlefied Hardline. Enjoy a campaign that takes a leaf out of the TV drama books, smattered with lots of guns, or head straight into intense multiplayer action to show your buddies what’s what.

This week’s update also includes deals on God of War titles, Rockstar-published games and WWE 2K15 as the deal of the week.

Why no Toukiden demo for PS4?

Yeah I wondered that myself; I checked the American Blog and its on their list of the PSN update.

The PS4 demo will be out next week :)

Really next week? Seems kind of odd since the game comes out the 26th March. Shame but slightly odd considering the US PSN store has the demo available for Vita/PS4.

Not going to complain, was going to buy it on the PS4 anyway. But would have been nice to try it before FF-Type 0 comes out.

You should specify that Soldner-X 2 on Vita is cross-buy and free if you own the PS3 version. The same applies to the Last Chapter DLC.

You know it’s a bad week for Vita when they have to list the same game three times. =/

3.1

Oh, and apparently Rock Boshers’ SOUNDTRACK is a Vita game. Who knew?

You mean, in the same update where they list Battlefield Hardline six times?

Yes, it’s definitely a horrible week for the Vita when it does exactly the same thing as the PS4 and PS3.

madmanwithabox12 18 March, 2015 @ 15:16
3.3

Difference is PS4 is actually getting decent games this week. Vita is getting one game that they’re trying to count as three, a soundtrack (ie not a game), a card game that’s basically older than time and Tennis in the Face.

No, you’re right. It’s a fantastic week for Vita!

Jawad any chance the FFXV demo codes will work today? They activated early in the US so why not here? My copy is sitting here in front of me with the code in it and it won’t work

Would be nice but i wouldnt count on it with SCEE.

Where is Deadman’s Cross for PS Vita?

Yeah a new Borderlands episode sweeeet!!!

6.1

Also noticed today that the Telltale Collection seems to be on the European store now, apparently it has been added on the 4th of March, which I don’t remember having an update of on this blog.
However I remember that one of you guys mentioned that we would get the same kind of discount that the US had 55% off if I remember correctly so did I miss that or was it never there.
Also the XBOne has the collection for a bit longer and they already had a discount of 45% twice now.

Secret Agent Clank (PSP) to be released in the scandinavian PS Store soon?

So, Rocksmith 2014 again. Again and first of all, we appreciate that things started moving. Please don’t take us for ungrateful, but we would really like things to move quicker, and with less flaws. Again we have only seen a pack addition for content, that was already there. A price issue was fixed and a new price issue created. Nothing more to say about that.

The main question that remains to be answered: what is your schedule on catching up the the hundreds of missing – by now 4,5 months overdue – songs? According to Ubisoft it all arrived at your end of the process, so you should very much be capable of giving an ETA on it.

As always, to the fellows that also suffer under this abysmal service level: visit http://rsdlcscandal.blogspot.com/ and check tweets on the topic (https://twitter.com/hashtag/rsdlcscandal).

I agree with everything patdj182 has said. Given that the North American PS Store has had the legacy DLC content available for months, we in the EU deserve an ETA at least. Although I would prefer it if you just got all the remaining content on there immediately, the current situation and apparent lack of action is unacceptable.

purestvengeance 18 March, 2015 @ 16:59
8.2

Very unfair treatment of customers. Would just like the content that has already been paid for or at the very least some information on when it will be available.

Well said patdj182!

Come on Sony, now things are starting to move lets get it all sorted asap. People have paid £100s for this content and can’t acess it.

Jawad can you help please?
Nicalis is ignoring every post and tweet about Bidings of Isaac Rebirth patch. It’s been out at NA since December. With out it we can’t unlock every item and trophies.
Maybe if you ask them, you may get an answer and tell us. Thanks in advance.

Any new information on Cross Region Gifting.
Like steam have had for years.

I do mean gifts would have to be purchased as gift. (not transferral of used). Like how you can get physical copies from abroad, you should be able to get digital ones too.

How soon are the following titles getting on the SEN store?
PSP:
Final Fantasy Crisis Core
Ghost in the Shell: Stand alone Complex
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep (yes I know of 2.5 hd remake, but that’s not playable on portable device is it? ;) )
PoPoLoCrois

Phantasy Star Portable 1 and 2

PS1:
Xenogears
Digimon World
Digimon World 2003

Once again, where are the 250+ missing ‘legacy’ DLC tracks for Rocksmith on PS4? You sold this product on the grounds that our existing DLC libraries could be imported from PS3, yet you continue to ignore this weekly. This has been going on for FIVE MONTHS now.

We have PAID for this DLC and you are failing to upload it week after week without one valid reason given. It reeks of incompetence. It can’t be a regional issue, because Xbox One (and PC & previous generation consoles) has the content available in the EU. Ubisoft has told us numerous times that the content was supplied to SCEE at launch in November and I believe them, because you uploaded what was supposed to be the first of a few bulk batches and then just gave up and hoped we wouldn’t notice.

I’ve forwarded a formal complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority because you’ve sold us the game on the back of a promise you haven’t kept. I would advise anyone else here – and there are many – to contact their local regulat...

Looks like SCEE has general contempt for its music game* customers, as you are apparently incapable of uploading a handful of Rockband tracks too.

Oh, and finally, if you’re going to do so little in the way of uploading Rocksmith content at least get the pricing right on the miniscule amount you do bother with. Every week there’s an incorrect price issue, or a mislabelled content issue. It’s pathetic quite frankly.

*apart from Singstar, funnily enough.

From what I’ve seen of it, you can really tell it’s a PSP game. Poor textures and an AWFUL camera. Way to go Square Enix.

12.2

Well, that’s Europe and Digital to you.

12.3

Yup, it is Vita game.

Today playstationlifestyle.net is going to post review, although they already mentioned that this is “vita game” and that it is not worth paying 60$ (we have 70 EUR – 80$, 2months ago it would be 90$)

On pushsquare one of reviewers wrote
” My thoughts exactly! I went in with an open mind, but everything in this game would feel better on the Vita. Now you’ve got an average FF on the homeconsoles, whereas this would be a masterpiece on the Vita. It would be Vita’s GOTY and everyone would be talking bout it… Now it will forever be that forgettable game you played for six hours you needed to buy for the FFXV demo.
This game only makes sense on the Vita and would technically be possible. That the game shows its age, although it’s in HD wouldn’t have been a problem at all then and even the wonky camera, which litteraly made me scream, wouldn’t have been such big of a deal.

Better to skip it, and wait patiently for proper Vita release of game. No point in supporting company that lies and milk their own customers.

Still no Rock Band 3 DLC? Any chance of an update this year about it?

14

Once again no Rock Band 3 DLC. This is getting rediculous. Apperently it’s only a problem on SCEE’s part, since it’s been released everywhere else, even in europe, on Xbox360.

Type-0 for £54.99? Bargain. It should be in the “deals’

Why is Battlefield Hardline not listed under PS4 DLC section? Instead it is listed as a full game.

Those are not DLCs, just different versions.

‘Massive Cleavage vs Zombies
£2.39/€2.99/AU$4.95’

Figures. PlayStation Mobile gets its killer app right before Sony kills it off.

Will we be able to download Type-0 before the 20th? I’ve pre-ordered but there’s no download prompt which we’d normally get when pre-ordering games so that we can play it immediately upon release?

19

And AGAIN, where is the Rock Band 3 content?

Jawad, we’ve asked nicely, and been ignored week after week.

If there’s no response and no action from you again, I will be demanding a refund for all DLC paid to SCEE over the last 7+ years, and demanding that you be sacked and replaced by someone more competent.

From now on, i’ll buy my content from the US PSN Store, where it’s actually available ON TIME and CHEAPER.

Good luck with that! Hahahaha!!!

Why not add USD$ prices ? i guess not as people will see the massive price difference !, and release some of the themes that north America have for ps4 and vita.
Why you hate us Sony ? Why discriminate against everybody outside North America ?
How about We get the spend 100 get 15 back deal the US got.

Maybe people will learn and make u change your greedy policies with their wallets.

“with their wallets”… except the situation gets worse and worse the more we “vote with our wallets”. it’s like boycotting DLC, now we get a lot more DLC.

FF Type-0 €69.99 … lolwut?

I’m not even interested in the game, but Square Enix clearly thinks that their audience is intellectually challenged. I’d be furious if a publisher took advantage of me like that, but I guess FF fans are going to FF regardless of being laughed directly in the face by the publisher.

22

How about the digital/indie deals?

23

How about the digital/indie deals? Where are they?

24

Got a couple of questions…

Counter Strike Global Offensive-still well and truly dead in the water?
When will Final Fantasy 7 come to PS4?
Will we see Chaos Rins gor PS Vita at some point?

StevenJamesHyde 18 March, 2015 @ 15:18

Oh man, FF7 is going to cost £54.99 as well isn’t it…

Thunderlizzard 18 March, 2015 @ 14:34

Digital pricing fail again!

Battlefield Hardline £54.99 or I can get the physical disk from Amazon for £44.

Do you want anyone to go digital or do you actually prefer paying additional the costs for manufacturing, shipping, the retail cut and the inevitable secondary loss from resale?

The lack of engagement on Rock Band and Rocksmith DLC has become downright insulting. We’ve been asking for weeks for an update, could you please at least have the courtesy to reply to one of our queries this week?

My copy of Final Fantasy Type O turned up today but the FFXV code isn’t working. Has tye demo been uploaded to the European store yet?

Same with me. Only just got the game there now and was hoping to play the demo first

I really like the FFT0 HD price – full game price. Same price as Hardline whis is new IP not a remake.

I feel so much appreciated by SE that they want to sell me at full price something that has same Story, Game mechanics and sound (compositions) as the PSP version. So that they want to earn money twice on something.

I’m not one to complain often but “Type-0 for the west has been demanded for so long”. Really? Salt in the wounds much Jawad? It WAS demanded for so long alright, but for a different platform.
I will point you to The Blog Post of 2014 http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/06/10/final-fantasy-type-0-hd-coming-playstation-4/
Read through the comments and look at all those happy fans. You will then see the point where the blog post was updated to say the game WON’T actually be coming to the Vita and then watch the horror unfold. That thread has received 272 comments to this day, higher than even the more popular posts like the Discount/Sale Posts or the Weekly Release Post. There was a big community waiting for this game and Square Enix and Sony messed it ALL UP.
Oh and I’m still not touching this game on the current formats, EVER.

29.1

mmmmh i’m fairly certain that the post for the 2.50 PS4 firmware got around the same number of comments.

29.2

Ya but that post was in 2015 and Firmware posts, especially major firmware posts, always get lots of activity. :)
Well I was exaggerating the “Blog Post of 2014” for simply the fact it is quite a high number of comments for a game related post (should have said “Most Controversial Blog Post of 2014”). There aren’t that many game related Blog posts that get that kind of activity because not everybody is into the same games. But it was such a big deal and disgrace it DID get a lot of attention. I just don’t think it should ever be ignored or overlooked.
I guess when the game under performs in projected sales (like so many Square Enix games this past 7 years have), Square Enix will yet again be scratching their heads wondering what went wrong and I will be laughing, yet again.

For a moment i thought Echo Night was released HERE, as a import.

The prices for PS4 games are ridiculous! 70 Euro!? You must be kidding me! I’m not paying that much. That’s the only reason why I haven’t bought the PS4 and I’m actually convinced now to get a gaming PC for this gen. It will save me a lot of money and will give much better graphics. Sony has to be crazy to charge us this much for games!

@Sisca
Actually its not the price that bugs me its sonys exchange rate
For example Battlefield hardline is USD$ 59.99 and in Europe its €69.99 which = USD $75.50
How is that fair ? Also the total lack of content in EU store is a joke ,60% of psp ps1 ps2 back catalog missing that NA get, vita , ps4 themes and apps are absent from our stores for no reason but are on the NA store.
Im with u in getting a gaming PC when my day 1 ps4 inevitably ylods.

Is Final Fantasy Type-0 seriously £55? For a (barely) HD-remake of a PSP game?

That….is a disgrace.

31.1

You get overcharged so you enjoy the privilege of playing the FF XV demo.

Oh, those Square Enix guys… Instead of marketing FF XV through a reasonably priced game no-one would normally care for, they exploit our passion for FF XV.

31.2

It’s insanity. Seems like I’m gonna wait a year or so until it’s less than £10 during a sale.

After all the mistakes Square-Enix done, and sheer disrespect they shown their audience (no Collector’s Edition for FFX HD here in Europe for example), I decided last year that I’m gonna stop buying Square-Enix games at launch. I will only wait for cheap sales. Well, with the exception if they release US PS1 classics on the European Playstation Store.

32

Battlefield Hardline is €72.99, not €69.99 like stated here. And Deluxe Edition is €81.99, not €79.99 like on the blog post.

33

Dirt 3 VIP pass!?… btw: EA gives them for free 8)

Can you please activate the FFXV passes included with Type-0 today

35

Hi again Jawad,

This is the third week now and noone seems to want to answer this extremly simple question.
So I’ll try it yet again, and hope that you will respond.

“@Jawad

I asked this question last week as well as others, and no response was given by you.
Can you please give us an answer this time? :)

“Hi,

Any particular reason to why Starwhal isn’t available for most of Europe?
Will it ever be? If it’s getting released at a later date, will we get the chance to take advantage of the Playstation plus discount as well?
Thanks in advance.”

The availability is completely down to a publisher, unfortunately. In this case they have not instructed for additional territories to receive the game.

35.2

Jawad, Harmonix says it’s up to Sony to decide where dlc is available

Almost a month later and we STILL can’t transfer our Dead Or Alive 5 DLC to the PS4 version. What is taking you so long?

37

Will Chrono trigger ever come out on the PS1 classics?

37.1

It wasn’t originally released in PAL territories, so i guess…. not?

37.2

Again, Lance likes to have his voice heard despite having no information or authority on any of this.

37.3

Because you DO have them, right? Also, do we know each other? CT wasn’t released in PAL territories for PS1. Deal with it.

Where is the promised free PS4 DoA Last Round DLCs for DoA Ultimate owners? I found only the Gateway hot pack.

Jawad, please see this tweet Check out @RockBand’s Tweet: https://twitter.com/RockBand/status/573839350854713344?s=09

Harmonix says that it’s up to Sony to decide in which regions dlc is available, is that true? From previous comments I’ve read here, I assumed it was up to the publisher and not Sony

Just another case of buck-passing.

40.2

Harmonix have said they submitted the dlc to SCEE, i January and hav since done it again, no its up to SCEE.

40.3

My regions store didn’t even get the original rock band dlc from years ago, so the reason I’m asking this is actually to have it sorted out by the time Rock Band 4 launches

halfaworldaway 18 March, 2015 @ 15:09
41

Still no Rock Band DLC, Jawad what are you playing at, 2 months and nothing.

3 Years later I still want the Sims games that were on PSP (PSN) to be made compatible with the Vita.

The Sims 2
The Sims Pets
The Sims Castaway
Aswell as the PS1 games Populous,Theme Park, Theme Hospital

Hi jawad

Could You please see whats going on with the update for Binding Of isaac ??

The us has it for months Now and we cant finish The Game because of it!

Nicolis(The publisher) said he submitted also to SCEE só whats going on??

PLEASE give us some update in this!!!!!

supersmith2500 18 March, 2015 @ 16:53

1001 Spikes and the patch both failed QA testing. The developer is a another tiny studio based in the US and decided to give up resubmitting the game. If you do some research, you’ll see why. Give this one a read for example about PS1 games: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/01/31/psone-classics-where-we-all-stand/

A NEW patch was submitted ON march 1st did that fail too? How About saying something about it? The Game is broken , please an update from jawad or Fred about What is going on. There will be DLC In a few months and i’m pretty sure a lot of people wont buy it because of The problems in The game (except In The us )

44

Anymore news on firmware 2.50?

DarkArchoNx66 18 March, 2015 @ 15:19
45

Battlefield hardline ultimate edition only 130 euros haha..I wasn’t gonna get it even for 10 but what’s so special about it that justifies that ludicrous pricing.

By the way, I gotta ask something and I don’t if that’s the right place but I don’t where to find either. Has anyone re-subscribed plus withing the last few months? I am asking cause when my sub expired 2/3 of the items I had on my list vanished. It is rather curious that some items that have stayed are games I got through plus which doesn’t make much sense. What I am asking is, do I get everything back if I re-subscribe or they’re gone for good? Anyone knows?

45.1

They’ll be back when you resubscribe, and possibly moving to the top of your download list.

DarkArchoNx66 18 March, 2015 @ 15:35
45.2

Are you 100% positive? I don’t mean how it used to work several months ago, but how it works right now. Like I said some games from past months on plus have remained on the list but most of them are gone. Normally I wouldn’t care cause I’ve played pretty much every Ps3 game I could care for (except the last one and every Ps4 game), however I’d like the have option of playing some of them (and some others again) when I come back.

45.3

I’ve resubscribed several times during the past few years. Both 1-month and 1-year subscriptions. Everything always came back. Only ONE game was lost in the process but the customer service helped me. Some games could lose their PS+ status from time to time, too, probably because of a glitch or something, and you can keep them forever lol.

Another week and yet again we are unable to transfer ps3 dlc to ps4 last round as we were promised.
And yet another week im betting where no one has the common decency to tell us why or give any kind of explanation.

46.1

Season pass dropped off the dash store too, but that’s ok because people who bought it found that after paying £12.50 extra on PS4, it didn’t actually unlock all it should anyway.

47

Hi Jawad,

The Helldivers DLC article yesterday mentioned a “Ranger Limited Edition bundle” (http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2015/03/17/new-helldivers-dlc-deploys-wednesday-ps4-ps3-ps-vita/), is this the “Reinforcement Pack” listed above?

48

Did anyone else notice the URL change? it is now store.playstation.com instead of store.sonyenter…. (it’s to long to type)

@Jawad

Hi, sorry to be a pill again but what about the Oreshika DLC?

What about Aaaru’s Awakenig?
Will it ever be released in EU or not?
