Destiny’s House of Wolves expansion arrives 19th May – watch the trailer

First footage from the next major expansion for Bungie’s epic shooter

Hey, PlayStation Nation. It’s been an amazing seven months since we released Destiny. We’ve had the chance to welcome you to the Tower and get to know you in the game. It’s been awesome. Thanks for playing and lending your spirit to our community.

Now, it’s time to begin another adventure together. Let the hunt begin…

The next Destiny expansion is set for release on 19th May 2015. The Reef will open to all Guardians, and you will join the allies of the Queen to hunt down the traitorous Fallen from the House of Wolves. Over the course of the next month, we’ll be pulling the wraps off of all the new activities, modes, events and gear you’ll have access to. Stay tuned to see exactly where your legend is headed next.

Sorry Destiny, you fooled me once, you’re not going to fool me twice. Nice trailer, interesting that you don’t tell us anything about what you’re going to give us.

“The reef will open to all guardians”

So this dlc will be free then….right?

I think the reef is a social area like the tower. I might be wrong though, as I kicked my Destiny habit months ago.

U are right going be social area for all to hang out in the reef

Needs be alot alot more content this time round then the LAST DLC for price we got rip off

Witcher 3 going be out batman soon after, destiny had its DAY could been so much MORE

Nice one. Looking forward to getting Bad Juju out and taking it for a spin in the Reef.
Glad the Queen is getting another outing. I really enjoyed her Bounty missions way back when.

I’m waiting for the ‘comet’ release around September time that’s got all this DLC and whatnot rolled into it.

By tht time destiny will be a faint memory I want to see how much content is in this patch and will clearly decide my future investment into this major let down of a title.. Dev’s promised it would be actively supported and new content would be available for ten year to support the franchise.. Pfft yeah rite Activision

@Moonka83, me too. Still have my shaders, emblems and weapons from Queen’s Wrath safely stored in the Vault, May 19th can’t come around soon enough :)

Aww, Destiny is trying to be relevant again.

You lost me as soon as you started locking out Daily and Heroic Strikes to people who didn’t have the DLC.

There’s very little information about the actual content of this DLC so far beyond a quote from Deej that it would contain a “similar amount of content to The Dark Below” except the raid is bring replaced by some arena thing. Let’s look at what Dark Below actually gave us.

4 story missions
1 strike
1 raid
12 new armour pieces
12 new guns

This was a low amount of content back then and would have been low if this had released in March as originally planned. Given that it has been delayed to May I’m hoping for a lot more.

And please tell me I can get tower bounties while in the reef, don’t make us have to bounce between two different “social” areas and all those loading screens in order to level up efficiently.

I think you’ll find Dark Below actually gave us:

9 exotic armour
12 crota armour
24 vanguard armour
24 crucible armour
21 legendary weapons
4 exotic weapons
9 crota weapons
4 story missions
2 strikes (1 exclusive to ps4)
1 raid
1 sparrow
3 crucible maps
New bounties, quests, materials, emblems and shaders.
Murmur fusion rifle and gauntlets for completing eris quests.

@ truemorton

You would know that what you listed wasn’t true if you actually played the dlc. If you have played it then not enough as most of the weapons and gear are for sale by the vendors in the tower so you would know your armour and weapon count were low!

Alot of people have been put off and i’ll be honest, i nearly stopped playing but this is by far imo the greatest coop title out there at the min. Just wish there were more 6 player offerings. Bungie have improved the game and listened to feedback. Last gen held this game back so when destiny 2 releases end 2016 after comet we’ll truly see what the game should hav...

Bungie have improved the game and listened to feedback. Last gen held this game back so when destiny 2 releases end 2016 after comet we’ll truly see what the game should have been when they ditch last gen. This has its flaws and grew tiresome but it’s fluid, the weapons handle so well and the coop experience is like no other. Activision are to blame slightly too! I mainly just play nightfalls with my 3 characters, weeklys and raids. But tbh i have nearly everything anyway it’s just a great game to play with a good group of people.

You just listed the content of the free patch that came out the day before which can be accessed by everyone regardless of whether or not they bought the DLC. The actual content of the DLC is as I listed.

Would agree if this post was dated pre dark below, after 10days of tht dlc I had nearly amassed every new item tht was of any whatsoever . 10 weeks later it’s been 2 month since i looked at the game case..

12

I forgot to mention new class items too!

I’m sure i’m missing a few other bits.

19th may date was a little late than originally rumoured and i can see why bungie have lost players but if you like grinding then you’ll hang on. Alot of gamers made the mistake of thinking this was just a fps. This is an mmo fps which if you’ve played mmo titles before require alot of grinding for experience. But i understand this isn’t for everyone but it is for me!

There is no raid in this update despite it being advertised as such previously.
Instead they are going to ask you to pay even more for the raid at a later date.
Seriously, just forget this game, it’s worse than paying for 30 ‘easy’ fatalities in MKX!

This game is so bad. Why it’s not free to play?

15

Very unfortunate date. Although I bought the season pass I won’t be playing House of Wolves for a while. It’s Witcher time!

Haha! Destiny….

Whilst I’ve enjoyed this game here and there, I came across this recently and all the hype I had for the game originally came flooding back.

That’s the game I wanted to play!… “All this is playable space” Ballz…

Been playing their games since 2001. Think this is where I’ll be leaving them behind.

If Destiny has taught us anything, it is to not believe the hype.
