Gran Turismo 6 update adds a new Vision GT car from Volkswagen

Plus, a number of optimisations and improvements go live

Today see’s the launch of the latest Vision Gran Turismo car in the form of the Volkswagen GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo! Following the release of the GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo in 2014 (designed especially for PlayStation). The inventor of the GTI 2015 is now sending the new GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo out onto the virtual racetrack, joining its open-top roadster cousin.

After the update has been installed, the car can be purchased from the [Vision GT] option within the [CARS] section in “My Home”. Alternatively, it is also possible to obtain the car by completing a lap (regardless of the lap time) in the new Seasonal Event, available only for a limited time.

In addition to the inclusion of the new Vision Gran Turismo car, update 1.18 also introduces further game improvements and fixes:

Resolved issues:

The issue regarding the transmission found after installing Update 1.17, where the parameters set in the [Fully Customisable Transmission] would revert to the default values, has been fixed.

Other improvements and adjustments:

  • The engine sounds for the Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo has been improved.
  • The deployment timings of the air brake for the Alpine Vision Gran Turismo, Alpine Vision Gran Turismo Race Mode and Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo when using the DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller has been adjusted.

Gran Turismo 4ThePlayers

Lovely Car :P It was just disappointing that there is no full interior of the Car when i just played it :-/ I hope in GT7 for the PS4 all the Cars are(Hmm) “Premium Cars”. Like DriveClub(but of course DriveClub has much less Cars in the game, but still it just seems half done if you don’t bother doing the interior to nowadays) Oh well;)

I still don’t get why they haven’t developed this for the PS4, would make a lot more sense

I think the development cycle just ended up like that. PS4 wasn’t really far into development in terms of hardware when GT6 was already in mid-production I think.

GT7 is coming though. Probably in holiday 2016. Or 2017.

Yeahhh … if you could stop working on a game that came out in 2013 on outdated hardware and start working on GT7 for PS4, that’d be great.

Yeah because noone plays on Playstation 3 anymore amiright…

At least some statement of intent regarding GT for the current console would be nice

We had a vw vision car already. Bring the ones from the other brands that still don’t have a vision car. Still a load to come and at this rate, this will last up to 2018…

So you still report it as headline news when GT6 on PS3 adds a new car. But your flagship PS4 racer, Driveclub gets ignored, even though they’ve just announced the addition of the brand new Ferrari; La Ferrari, arriving this month?

Why no love for Driveclub? Evolution Studios have put so much into this game since it launched but it never gets a mention any more. Seems harsh. I gave up on Gran Turismo as I wanted a fun racer, not an endless grind; DC delivers fun in spades.

I just checked; it’s 5 months since DC got a mention on this site, that’s appalling.

Sony are probably keeping it quiet to avoid any mention of the MIA PS Plus edition.

Why do I have issues getting these pictures on FLICKR? it says page not found

lil ps4 port would be nice

Never got why people love this series it makes driving feel so boring, driving a real car is more fun.
