Velocity 2X, Octodad, Thomas Was Alone & Don’t Starve invade LittleBigPlanet 3

Sackboy invites over a few of his chums from the indie community

LittleBigPlanet is the home of creativity and we have always admired anyone that is able to pour their heart and soul into creating something of their very own.

This couldn’t be truer of our own community and the vast range of indie developers that have released titles for PlayStation, so this entire month we are celebrating some of our indie friends with a range of new content for LittleBigPlanet 3!

We have a string of exciting costume packs and mini packs lined up this month for Octodad: Dadliest Catch, Velocity 2X, Thomas Was Alone and Don’t Starve. Check out the schedule below to find out when your favourite characters will be arriving to LittleBigPlanet:

  • 15th May: Octodad Costume
  • 15th May: Velocity 2X – Lt. Kai Tana Costume
  • 20th May: Thomas Was Alone Minipack
  • 27th May: Don’t Starve Costume Pack

16-10 Octodad

Bonus wallpapers

Want to go that one step further and add a bit of indie love to your favourite desktop or mobile device? We have a range of wallpapers with our own LittleBigPlanet twist on these characters that we will be releasing throughout the month to help commemorate our indie celebration month.

You can pick up the first of these wallpapers over on LittleBigPlanet.com and will also be able to pick up a couple of additional wallpapers for Thomas Was Alone and Don’t Starve later this month, so make sure you stay tuned to our website for those!

No love for LBP Vita? Those games are all on Vita (Octodad is coming) too…

1.1

Sumo Digital are only supporting their own game now. They don’t care about Mm titles or Tarsier’s.

I’m sad the sackboy costumes aren’t coming to Vita too.

Unsurprisingly they pulled a similar thing with Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. As soon as the PC version was out, they abandoned every other version and gave that one all the DLC. <__<

Many apologies that you feel that way but due to the addition of OddSock, Toggle and Swoop it became difficult to justify continuing to produce costumes for the titles don’t support them.

It wasn’t an easy decision though, LittleBigPlanet content is primarily produced by Sony XDev, Sumo Digital, Tarsier Studios and The Station; and it was decided between all of us to focus our support for LittleBigPlanet 3 as the latest generation of LittleBigPlanet.

These were as unexpected as the Adventure Time packs. Looking forward to Octodad.

Come to think of it…
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Swoop get very angry…

Steven please read this,

LittleBigPlanet is a great game and will always continue to be, but you as a community manager is deteriorating. For many years I have been a big fan of you, and wanting to ask you so many questions, and that time I was pretty young and was a massive fan of you, I even have you on my PSN Friends list. I have sent you a lot of PMs on the forums years ago and you always replied, but now it doesn’t seem to be the case.

First I wanted to ask you if LBP3 community PS4 will be free, so I messaged you on the forum, but surprisingly as of today, you still haven’t read it. And then, there’s an issue on Run Sackboy Run PS Vita that cannot allow me to get the special stickers on the other LBP games, so I have sent LBP and you an email, asked you on Twitter, posted on the forum but I don’t seem to get an official response.

I have asked you again and again and again when will the RSBR issue will be fixed but one time you told me soon, I don’t see any patch on my Vita as ...

If you could take the time to respond to this, I would thank you so much. I am a loyal LBP fan since 2010, have all the games and I would like to have a great support from the official community manager.

Thank you.

Your sincerely,

I’m having RSBR issues too. I’ve unlocked all the special stickers for the T-Shirt and Toggle Gnome Costumes, but it’s not given me the option to redeem them.

Hello mh637099,

Just checked my forum inboxes and I don’t appear to have any out-standing messages from yourself.
Couldn’t locate a recent email from yourself either. (Honestly just looked and my last email from you was in 2013!)

It possibly just got lost in transit or something; if you wouldn’t mind just emailing me and dropping me a message on here to let me know you have sent the email, I would be more than happy to look into your issues further for you. :)

@Steven Isbell thanks for taking the time to look into this. According to my forum sent messages, it says my message to you is unread. If you could check that but now you can discard it as I already got LBP 3 for the PS3.

Also, my recent email from few months ago, I don’t think I put in my PSN username so you know who I am. Just sent you an email with my name in it so you know who I am to your email and the LBP email. If you can check that and reply that would be great.

Thanks.

For Free?

Of course not.

Our recent Level of the Day and Expanded Note Tool additions were free.

If you haven’t played LittleBigPlanet 3 this week, we just released Game Update 1.07; so they’re definitely worth checking out.

Dear Steven Isbell, there was this post yesterday about Night Before Christmas dlc which is also for ps vita but it was later deleted, is that really gonna come ?

Night Before Christmas DLC is already available for Vita.

That was an accidental post of an article from October 2013!

Not quite sure what happened there…
Possibly some malfunctioning Sackbots got into the great PlayStation Blog posting machine…

The Nightmare Before Christmas Level Kit and Costume Pack DLC is already available as a cross-buy for both LittleBigPlanet 2 and LittleBigPlanet 3.

As well as a different version of the Level Kit being available for purchase for LittleBigPlanet PS Vita. :)

Yes, some Sackgremlins to blame there. Apologies folks…

hate being a negativitron, but i think the Thomas Is Alone costumes just look lazily thrown together, wow, just throw some flat objects and paint with coloured stickers? i know the whole idea behind the characters of the game, but when you look to a game where the characters are literally just 1 pixel each, you are pretty much scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to costumes based on games, im sure the don’t starve costumes will look better

7.1

Well seeing as the TWA characters only consist of pixels, it would be lazier if the costumes were just 2D sprites, making them the only 2D characters alongside Yellowhead.

I like that, as they have the LBP charm added to them, just like the WipEout costumes where they’re cardboard soapbox racers.

Be gone Negativatron!

Looks like I will have to revisit LBP3 because that Don’t Stave Mini-pack looks amazing! I have been really disappointed in LBP3 so far because it has been so buggy and the amount of story greatly affected the time it took to get to actual gameplay. But I’m willing to try again with a group of friends because oh man those Don’t Starve costumes are flawless!!!

I mean this is cool and all, but where’s some news on LittleBigPlanet HUB? I know that LittleBigPlanet 3 came out a bit slippery, but the game has found its footing by now.

So, what’s up with LBP HUB?
