Not a lot of PS+ discounts for the Vita titles.
Incredible value that justifies raising the price of the subscription for sure.

1.1

Its been a bad week for all things PS+ really. Those sale prices are a joke too, wasn’t BF4 Premium Edition on sale for way cheaper only a while ago?

And €35 for Unity? Really?

But Sony needs to raise the prices of PS+ in order to keep up the amazing quality that is the PSN.

*giggle*

1.3

The 12 months is still 49.99, why the hell is everyone b*tching about the prices?

we want PS1 and PS2 classics support for PS4.

And this is in-topic because…?

2.2

@Lance Not everyone seems to care about context. Apparently.

3

Storefront on ps4 advertises a Ps+ discount for evil within, is there none?
Also is this the last wave of deals or is there a new one next Wednesday?

I’m also seeing Red Alert 3 Commander’s Challenge for PS3 in the section of Summer Sale titles in the PC store. However it’s not priced.

3.2

Yeah, I noticed it too, clicked on it just to discover no actual plus discount whatsoever. I was quite hyped to see that plus discount for Evil Within, only to end up confused and/or disappointed. False advertisement. Guess I should be used to that from the store by now.

3.3

I belive this is the second and last wave.

Not much… really nothing for me at least.

BUT

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUYING STEINS;GATE. In my opinion it is BY FAR the best game you can play on your Vita. It is Visual Novel much better than VLR or Danganronpa. Imho it is even better than Persona 4G and Tales of Hearts.

BUY IT!

4.1

“Even better than Persona 4G”

Those are big words :P

4.2

Will get Steins Gate :) imho, Dangan1 and 2 beats P4G easily @D

@X_Blood_Curse_X

But I really believe that what I said is true. Though it is matter of opinions right?

Great music, unforgetable characters, SUPERB plot, time travel theme that actualy is based on quantum mechanics…

Not to mention that it has great japanese dubbing.

The only drawback of game is that it begins very slowly… and some people might be discourage from playing by delusional MC. But later on…. it is too great to be true.

I’ve completed it 2 times in a row without skipping any text :P

Of course plated it already.

The Crew should be removed from the store, its the most broken game I have ever played. Ubisoft won’t reply to any support tickets about it, and Ivory Tower have no comments other than promoting new dlc. Disgrace

5.1

I played it nonstop for past 2 months, no issue whatsoever.

5.2

Broken how?

I’ve played it to completion and plenty online. Admittedly the new ‘crown battle’ is awful and we’ve never found a crew vs crew race, but those issues aside it’s been just fine – and there’s a LOT of content.

I concur that UBI’s support is a complete and utter joke though

@Jawad
In what countries Sayonara UmiharaKawase + is available? Because it seems that it’s not accessible for Poland.

crimsonidol-de 12 August, 2015 @ 12:31

In all except the following:
> Not available Bahrain, Denmark, Finland, Kuwait, Lebanon, Norway, Oman, Poland, Sweden, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE

Taken from: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2015/04/29/new-playstation-store-metal-slug-3-broken-age-tropico-5/
Sorry to hear that it’s not available for you.

I know it’s on the other handheld (and it’s been on sale quite a few times). I’m not certain if it’s in the Polish e-shop though. However, it does seem to have a Japanese physical release and a place I import from has it new £22 and £17 for used

@crimsonidol-de
Thanks.

SCEE really needs to stop with their silly requirement of translatin metadata to all languages.

For god sake, most of times game are in English language! Not being able to play a game which has english language ONLY just because description of it isn’t in Polish language.

That is some kinda of llame joke.

I’m quite suprised that nobody in SCEE came up with idea to actualy let people choose language in their shop.

This has been the first time in years I haven’t bought anything from the summer sale. Barely any Vita games, no Psp games, no ps1 games. Just a load of retail games I could buy cheaper months ago. Seriously Assassins Creed and Batman AGAIN?

I would recommend you buying Steins;Gate but I see that you already have it.

Good Job! ( ´ ▽ ` )b

7.2

Most of the games on sale have been cheaper in previous sales. Just another day with SCEE.

Except the Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry – past sales it was around £5.75 or so

I really wish they would brush the cobwebs off some of those old PSP JRPG’s and put hem on sale. I keep holding out for Mana Khemia Student Alliance and I know as soon as I buy it…it will end up in a sale

Steins Gate is actually 29,99€, Wrong Price. It should be 24,99€

eoinoreilly24 12 August, 2015 @ 12:28

Yeah I’ll give that one a go when this is rectified.

Was hoping for devil may cry 4 to become 20$ ;_;

10

Is the Steins Gate price here or in the shop wrong?
The shop shows it as 29,99€ with 10% PS+ discount leading to 26,99€

11

Aaaaand the same titles, over and over….

Will there be new items next week?

If not that’s ok as I still have a huge backlog and both One Piece Warrior 3 and Onechanbara are out on the 28th and if there aren’t going to be any new items I’ll splurge and pre-order Lost Dimension which is also out on the 28th.

As an aside, Sayonara UmiharaKawase + would be interesting if it was a fishing and cooking game as opposed to a platformer. Every time I see it on vita or the other handheld I’ll think “ooh what’s this?” only to realise I know what it is. Must remember not to delete files when I defrag my brain.

12.1

I think there won’t be any new items on sale next week, as we got this update two weeks after the summer sale started.

cheers, just the excuse I needed to pre-order Lost Dimension

13

Cant seem to sign into web store no matter what i try. Its bloody annoying as I actually want to buy a few things but cant. Oh and before someone says “sign in on your console” if i could this post wouldnt exist

13.1

Just give it an hour or two, pretty common during the update.

13.2

Thanks Bovrillor :)

supersmith2500 12 August, 2015 @ 12:26
14

Not much for me.

But everyone, get Persona 4 Golden and the DanganRonpa games if you get the chance. P4G is an excellent JRPG while DanganRonpa 1 & 2 is an excellent visual novel series well worth your time.

CleverTwigboy 12 August, 2015 @ 21:41

I’d recommend Steins;Gate if you don’t already have it!

ANBU_Sharingan 12 August, 2015 @ 12:27
15

I think PlayStation players happiness must come pricey for sony , this summer ends without any purchase of note coming from me and others

15.1

yeah, all world revolves against your *point* of view. bought Bloodborne and Borderlands for PS4, because those were reasonable deals. Evolve deal in the store was actually better in the store than what I paid for it just a week before the sale. the deals are reasonable, if you know what you want and just lack incentive to buy it now. if you are playing only “games under 5 pounds”, then yeah, nothing for you. even then, there was Bastion under 5 pounds a week before the sale. a great deal, which rocketed it to 2nd spot of selling charts.

16

Finally, some great Vita games…

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Sayonara UmiharaKawase and Steins;Gate for me!

RodrigoSharingan 12 August, 2015 @ 12:28
17

One of the worst summer sales i can remember. So many games i can buy cheaper and physical in almost every local or online store. Once again e repeat myself…

– Say No to overpriced digital games!

THUNDERCAT1973 12 August, 2015 @ 14:42
17.1

You do know operation abyss is cheaper at £17.99 than a physical copy and the same goes for danganronpa games

17.2

These games (most of them) are cheaper than the physical copy in Hungary. When Sony and the other guy (ms) said, the next-gen games can only be 60$ (it’s nearly 17.000 forint, which is a huge price for a game in Hungary. These prices are not for a hungarian men wallet.) But most of the games are 18.000 ft, or above. And this is was the PS4 games, controller etc. After the PS4 prices are raised, they raised the PS3 game prices too. I would really like to support the developer of the game (that means i only buy new games, not second hand games) but i can only do via PS Store…

17.3

I dunno so much about that. The Evil Within is less than half of what I can get it at in South Africa. I’m pretty chuffed..

18

Hang on… Steins;Gate is showing as £24.99 on the store! Which is it, Jawad?

Unless you really want digital – Shopto is selling both PS3 and Vita version for around £21

18.2

Thanks for the heads up, Izorpo!

19

Does the Batman Arkham Collection have all the DLC’s for each game??

I think i’ve bought a grand total of 3 games from the Summer Sale. Another year, another disappointment.

21

Was expecting to get borderland 2 discounted for ps vita.
Dissappointed once again…

21.1

Don’t be disappointed, buddy. It’s very laggy on Vita and it isn’t particularly pretty either. While I don’t necessarily regret buying it myself, Borderlands 2 on Vita is a very poor relation to its console siblings.

I have to agree with Aces73High. I willed myself to get through Borderlands 2 on Vita and made myself love it but if we’re being honest then it’s not a good way to play that game. I still jump on it from time to time just because i love that world but it hurts to play it with such frame drops and hiccups.

Telltale Game of Thrones and Danganronpa it is! :D

23

By the way, Steins;Gate for PS3 is coming up at £19.99 as stated above, but the Vita version is showing as a fiver north of that figure. Sadly, I’m assuming that it’s the PSN price (£24.99) that is correct?

23.1

Same thing on the EU store. Price is listed at €29:99 with the 10% PLUS discount reducing it to €26:99
Really want to pick it up for the Vita.

23.2

As far as I can tell, the Vita SKU should be £19.99. Back end system is just being a little derpy, you know?

I’ve raised the issue in the mean time.

24

Why has Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- been removed from the store? Today is supposed to be the last day that it’s still discounted, and it has disappeared entirely (both the PS4 and PS3 version). What’s going on?

24.1

Either a temporary issue or they finally discovered the EU version is crap compared to the rest of the world, haha.

24.2

Now the PS4 version is back, but it’s not discounted. Hope that it gets fixed soon.

25

Question for my fellow PS Vita enthusiasts…
If I was only able to buy Danganronpa or Steins;Gate, which should I get?

— Sorry about the multiple posts! —

Danganronpa has more content. You actually get to move around and interact with stuff.
Steins;Gate is a straight up Visual Novel. You read. That’s it.

But honestly, Steins;Gate is still the best choice, even if its shorter then Danganronpa. Story in it is fantastic, and the characters are all really great. And the voice acting is top-notch.

25.2

Imho Steins;Gate

But both games are awesome.

25.3

Though just like @Izorpo said you can buy retail of it cheaper….

I imagine I would get depressed running this Blog. Everywhere just people complaining over and over again about the same stuff.

To Fred, Jawad and the rest of the staff: Thanks a lot for running this Blog. you are consistently and reliably informing us about all important PlayStation news. It is very much appreciated by the majority of people reading the PS Blog. Remeber that only the negative people post comments, and the satisfied readers don’t. Thanks again for your work!

26.1

Yet, this Summer Sale is still a huge disappointment no matter what you think.

26.2

Why is it people feel entitled to get something at the price they want it for. I’m not saying these sales are cheap enough or too expensive. Here’s what you do if you want a game: Look at the price. If it’s higher than what you’re willing to pay, don’t buy and wait for it to come down in price, until you’re willing to buy. Sony or any publisher doesn’t owe you to put things on sale at a certain price after a certain time.

26.3

Yeah yeah whatever…

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments was one of the most pleasant surprises for me in the last few years. It’s slow paced, which won’t suit everyone, but the puzzles are all fair and logical, the cases require thought and diligence to get the correct outcome and the morality system is relatively interesting. To me, it’s got the perfect balance of player enabling and player agency to make it a slight challenge without ever being frustrating or arbitrary. If you enjoyed L.A. Noire, or games like the vanishing of Ethan Carter, it’s worth a go.

I still haven’t played the PS3 version we received with plus but if it’s anything like The Testament of Sherlock Holmes that’s win win. If you haven’t played The Testament of Sherlock Holmes would recommend it – very dark (not Alice Madness Returns dark) story.

eoinoreilly24 12 August, 2015 @ 13:16
27.2

I played on PS4, which I’m guessing is significantly the better option since the look of the game is somewhat important. I haven’t played the Testament, though it sounds very similar gameplay-wise. To be honest, my backlog is so long and I have such a hard time going back to PS3 now I’d probably never get around to it.

27.3

I played – and enjoyed – the free PS3 version. But it was very laggy at times. Dunno about the PS4 version.

Been crossing my fingers for a sale on Steins;Gate! Now if only the PSN price would match the stated price…

28.1

Please wait as we try and resolve the pricing situation.

CommonComitatus 12 August, 2015 @ 15:19
28.2

Much appreciated! Apologies if my comment came off more snarky than it was intended — was mostly just crossing fingers that it wasn’t the stated price that was in error!

28.3

Not at all :)

Price has been updated on Store now. Enjoy.

29

“sale”

30

The summer sales has been a big disappointment this year.

I’ve always been rooting for Sony, but with the overall lack of bigger Plus titles, more expensive online, less focus on first party exclusives, disbandment of studios like Studio Liverpool and Evolution etc – I’m starting to think PS4s dominance over XB1 is a bad thing – Sony just doesn’t need to try appeasing customers anymore…

30.1

Evolution Studios hasn’t been disbanded yet. But yeah, heads will continue to roll (courtesy of DriveClub’s launch fiasco and the PS+ Edition) and they won’t probably survive to the next generation of consoles.

30.2

1. AAA titles will probably start showing up for free on PS Plus when there are a lot of them on PS4, as it’s way to expensive for Sony at this point. Once the competition is stiff and game start getting old Sony will be able to pick up AAA games for a reasonable deal.
2. More expensive online: If you’re referring to the requirement of PS Plus to play online, you’re right. I don’t get that either. If you’re referring to high prices on the PS Store, the free market must speak. If people buy expensive games online, it only makes sense for them to have high prices. So speak with your wallet. Also, I’ve heard numerous time Sony can’t upset the retailers, which obviously want to sell their physical copies. I don’t quite understand that reasoning though.
3. Sony isn’t focusing less on first party exclusives. Yes, this year’s fall lineup is pretty bare, but that just means Sony can affort to not rush out it’s games. Sony still owns all of it’s developers and they’re all working on PS4 game...

Sony still owns all of it’s developers and they’re all working on PS4 games, so you can look forward to better stuff in the future. Just an example: Sony Bend ought to have something cooking up by now…
4. Closing Studio Liverpool was a business decision as their games didn’t perform well enough financially. Microsoft and Nintendo will close studio too, if their games don’t sell. Evolution however has only experienced layoffs, as was clearly needed (eventhough it’s unfortunate). Driveclub was delayed a whole year and still wasn’t ready at lauch. It has now sold over two million copies though, which makes it very unlikely that Sony shuts down Evolution any time soon.

I’m no fanboy, I just want to set things straight. Any questions? ;-)

Untrue, Driveclub has sold over two million copyies. Although developement and launch were in fact a fiasco – they’re still doing well financially.

@MrSabuhudo I agree with that. Although I am actually complaining in my other post it’s because I actually like these sales and I’m not able to buy what I want atm.
I think it’s pretty sad when people are moaning about ‘this is cheaper on physical copy etc’ my advice to ALL of those people is this. Rather than complaining ‘I can get it cheaper’ why not just do so and stop complaining about it on here already?

31.1

You’re absolutely right! As if Sony was stopping them from buying the games cheaper elsewhere. ;-)

So, where’s the “The Evil Within” PS+ discount so broadly advertised on the PS4 storefront? Still waiting to actually find it in the store…

So… where are the discounts, exactly?

to everyone crying about it being overpriced and the same titles as always;
Its a SUMMER sale, its SUMMER. go out in the nice weather, swim in the ocean, enjoy a cold one. dont cry over video games ;)

34.1

Yet, you’re here, complaining about people complaining about a sale.

34.2

Burn of the day. :’D

yes lance_87 because thats almost all there is to it. the comment section could be so much more than just piles of complaint.

Payday 2: Crimewave Edition
Original price £44.99/€49.99
Offer price £23.99/€28.49
10% additional PS Plus discount

Still no PS+ discount :(

Are we also getting the Square Enix sale?

They have this game on sale, it’s called Tactics Ogre; Let us cling together, don’t know if you’ve heard of it.

Ever since I became a PsPlus user last October, almost one year ago, I have wanted this game to be on Plus or sale and it never happened. Now it finally is, but let me guess US only :'(

Please SCEE!! Help me and my dream!

36.1

Tactics Ogre is a great PSP game, so if you really want to play it that much, you should just buy it! Why wait around for months on end for the ‘possibility’ of saving just a few pounds? I don’t get it.

36.2

Wow, if you’ve waited so long for this game, why not buy it at it’s regular price? Seems like it’s worth it to you, treat yourself every once in a while!
PS: I’d like to play that too, want to finish FF tactics first though. :-)

36.3

Because in my opinion even if it is a great PSP game, it is just wrong to still ask 20 bugs for it.

10 euro max and that is just the case in the Square Enix sale :)

@Jawad
I was wondering if we will see a driveclub season pass sale in the near future?

In the store the Mud – FIM game for Vita states that it contains network features and there are online trophies in the game too, yet there’s no warning to be found anywhere that the servers for this game have actually closed a while ago already. Very bad practices there, buyers beware!

Was really hoping REmake was going to be on sale for the second batch of Summer games :(

39.1

that was on sale one or two pre-Summer Sale sales ago, IIRC. but not at a huge discount, though.

Wyldedime1919 12 August, 2015 @ 18:00
39.2

Yeah I know it was, I’m waiting for 50% off. As I already own the Gamecube version of it. But thanks for the reply letting me know :)

The highlight of the Summer Sale has been seeing the guy playing games wearing a snorkel. It certainly hasn’t been the games on offer. Poor all round.

40.1

So what exactly do/did you want to see in the sale? Instead of just saying ‘poor all round” how about actually telling Jawad etc what it is you consider a sale?

40.2

Something that hasn’t either a) been on sale before, b) is cheaper on disc elsewhere or c) been on PS+ before.

Ones those who expects GTA V and other big names for around £10, been plenty of good deals and variety. If he wants to see poor deals go and have a look at nintendos Eshop and then complain

Might get saint’s row and rogue. I WILL wait for the complete edition of Middle earth. Though I am too busy right now with borderlands the pre-sequel which I bought a few days ago. A bit more expensive than I wanted and not the complete edition, but I couldn’t resist. So fun and I am only on my first playthrough.

42

Where is the Payday 2: crimewave edition 10% additional ps plus discount??

THUNDERCAT1973 12 August, 2015 @ 13:55
43

Nothing for me this time but that’s a good thing few games coming out the next few weeks and got operation abyss last week for £17.99 which a fair bit cheaper than a physical copy at the moment. I would love to see jeanne d’arc on the store can’t see why it isn’t as its on the America store

44

Why is the Metal Gear Rising DLC ( Jetstream & Blade Wolf ) free on the american store but around $15 each on this store? that doesnt make any sense

44.1

because… that’s Europe to you.

44.2

Because f*** you give me money European wallets. I m sure Angry Joe would say this.

44.3

You know there’s something wrong when “f*** you” is allowed but not statements about useless internet celebrity sensations like Joe-whatever…

Thanks for the amazing discounts (not so amazing at all).
For Plus not even worth it.

And thanks for the Tomb Raider discount, that is not at all a kick in the balls for getting the next one a year later. Even for this price not buying it.

Playing Everyone’s gone to the Rapture that only took 14 hours to download. Where do I pay for with Plus again?
Fix your crappy store Sony!!!!!

THUNDERCAT1973 12 August, 2015 @ 14:03

Simple solution buy an xbxo one if it upsets you so much. How’s the next tomb raider being a timed exclusive sonys fault ? On second thought don’t get an xbox one I can jus see you complaining about that as well

45.2

If it takes you 14 hours to download EGTTR that’s to do with your internet and is your own problem. How can you think that’s sony’s fault?

45.3

To be fair, the store really has been acting up lately (apparently only in some EU countries?). And it’s not my internet for sure. Games or patches that normally (on PS, to clarify) take minutes to download (<10 gigs) now takes ages, and that's been going on for quite a while now. I think it's a known issue.

Please! Put NBA 2k16 for Pre-Order on EU! I really dont wanna have to buy it through US account.

47

Really wish the danganronpa games were ported to PS4, just so I had an excuse to play them both again.

48

Guilty Gear Xrd have disappeared from the store. I was waiting today for the new summer sale before i buy it

48.1

*laughs histerically again*

48.2

The game is back !

48.3

PS4 version is still at full price, but PS3 has the discount. Hope it gets fixed soon.

I am intrigued by the Evil Within on PS4, especially now that a patch has removed those black borders.
But it seems to have completely disappeared from the PS4 store? Also no PS+ discount displayed in the list above?

49.1

Ok, it’s now back online for the original price… Now apply discount and if applicable PS+ discount too.

I wonder how this backend stuff is managed. It is such a mess always :-)

49.2

It really is..
Bloodborne also disappeared all night
Apparently GGXRD has disappeared too
On top of this TEW issue

Corpse Party Book of Shadows also disappeared from Polish store, didn’t back it up, wanted to download again, and since download list is sooooooooooooooooooo bad I wanted to do it using the store, but surprise surprise, its not there anymore, had to use DL anyway -.-
