New Need for Speed trailer shows off BMW M2 Coupé

Check out a range of new motors confirmed for EA's incoming racer

Hey everyone! Great to be back here on PlayStation Blog and I’m really excited to tell you about a new car that we’ve got coming to Need for Speed.

The world of Ventura Bay is already home to a number of great looking BMW’s, and today we’re pleased to welcome the brand new, BMW M2 Coupé into Need for Speed.

With the M2 having only just been officially unveiled to the world today, we’re incredibly pleased to be giving this brand-new BMW its video game debut. Starting 5th November, we can confirm that the BMW M2 Coupé will be available to drive, and customise, in Need for Speed.

The BMW Cars of Need for Speed

BMW M2 Coupé

The BMW M2 Coupé represents the successor of the historical BMW 1 Series M Coupé. With its 6-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive, the BMW M2 Coupé sets new benchmarks in terms of driving dynamics and agility. Moreover, the consistent use of iconic M design elements contributes to its expressive design and authentic M appearance. With an engine output of 272 kW (370 hp) and a maximum torque of 500 Nm, this car is a power pack, letting you know the true promise of ultimate driving pleasure!

BMW M3 E46

The third BMW 3 Series generation to receive the coveted M3 badge, the E46 M3 combined the best qualities of its two predecessors to become the ultimate driver’s performance car. With its rear-wheel-drive layout and throaty 3.2-liter straight-six engine, it’s been praised for its incredible sound, superb throttle response and perfect handling. You can get early access to this beauty in Need for Speed by pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition!

BMW M3 Evolution II E30

In all of its Bavarian beauty, the super rare E30 Evolution II was produced by BMW as a homologation car for the DTM championship back in 1992, with only 500 examples sold worldwide. The E30 is best-known for its enlarged boxy guards, iconic retro styling cues and user-friendly handling characteristics. Powered by a screaming naturally-aspirated inline 4-cylinder engine, it’s lightweight, ultra-desirable and built to race.

BMW M3 E92

The E92 M3 was the first of BMW’s legendary M3s to use a V8 engine. The 2-door sport coupe comes factory equipped with a carbon-fiber roof, and balances unique performance features with modern comforts. But don’t be fooled; underneath its skin lies a naturally aspirated monster with bucket loads of torque. With its 8,300rpm redline, it has instantaneous throttle response and a howling exhaust note like no other!

BMW M4 Coupé

More power, more torque, more speed. The M4 forms part of BMW’s range of M performance coupes, packing a powerful punch with its 431hp twin turbo straight six engine. Featuring lightweight, carbon fiber-reinforced parts and sleek looks, the M4 boasts impeccable performance and precise handling a street racing sleeper fit for a gentleman.

We can’t wait to get you behind the wheel of the M2 and we look forward to seeing you on the streets of Ventura Bay this November.

On another note, I know this is not the right place. I was hoping for some sales this week, but now I am hoping you guys go all out for Halloween. Hoping to see some Muramasa DLC bundle with at least 50% discount

This looks amazing. Pre-Ordered the game and I can’t really wait to get behind the wheels. You guys announced the complete list of cars that’s gonna show up int he game?

Nice, but without gameplay video there’s no telling how this will look.

I’ve played the beta was lucky enough to get in, looks great played the hell out of it. The handling is weird at first but then when you start to tune it to how you want it feels great and it looks really fantastic i was blown away how it goes from dark until dusk i would recommend if your a fan of Carbon/Underground era.

OK, cool. Please don’t stop putting Rock Band content up daily. You were doing so above avarage. Please don’t ruin it.

Liked the beta but cancelled my preorder. Why? NO MANUAL. If the game and ships with it I’m all over it. Drift in an auto? Ridiculous, as is an auto F40. I know this is an arcade racer, that’s the usual excuse, but so was outrun and it had manual along with plenty of other arcade racers.

I get this will be played by kids and Americans but some of us know how to and want to use a gearbox. Give us the option or I’m out.

I suppose the indicators for the BMWs will be paid DLC?? No one will buy them as per usual..

Surely they could have picked a better can than this to focus on… Driveclub, Forza and so on all show off Supercars or Hypercars and NFS picks the BMW… aiming low for me.

How about some footage of what it looks like when i am playing it. I am wanting this game but….big game companies cant be trusted to give us realistic in game footage. And well its EA so am assuming it has microtransactions too.

Just checked webstore. In game currency? No sale.

With pre ordering this game do you need to use a credit or debit card?

Hey guys i bought the need for speed deluxe edition and i cant find the bmw in the garage shop, anyone had this problem also? Cause i searched for it in the cars section and i cant find it!
