Celebrate Halloween with creepy goings on in Until Dawn

Go pumpkin hunting in the PS4 horror hit

Hi everyone, I’m pleased to be back on PlayStation Blog to give you a heads up about how we’re celebrating Halloween with Until Dawn.

The latest update to Until Dawn has added 11 hidden pumpkins within the game that will only appear around Halloween. We’re challenging you to find them all. They aren’t all easy to find and you might have to move the camera around to spot all of them. If you find one, take a screenshot and tag it with #UntilDawnPumpkin. We’ll be keeping an eye on how many people spot them and will retweet some of our favourites – so get searching!

We’ll also be doing a Director’s Commentary live-stream on 30th October from 7.30pm – 9.00pm GMT through the PlayStation Events app introduced in version 3.0 of the system software. Be sure to tune in and watch us play through and talk about how we created certain scenes and what we were trying to achieve.

The guys at PlayStation have also created a new Until Dawn dynamic theme for the PS4 being released for free just in time for Halloween on 30th October.

Have a happy Halloween all!

Is there a point to it?

Doesn’t seem like it, but the Director’s Commentary live-stream on 30th October sounds great. Would be nice if this content was available on YouTube or Vimeo afterwards for people who’d miss it.

Otherwise yay for a chance for running through the game again.

A. It’s Halloween
B. It might be fun

Please try and enjoy yourselves, struth!

Oh, and the theme has said unavailable “because you do not own Until Dawn” since Tuesday. Even though, you know, I do own it.

Keep up the good work guys.

Same here, I had it on pre-order. I don’t know how much more I have to do to claim it :(

Should have read the article. It’s not available until tomorrow

What time? Dawn?

That would be pretty cool.

ps plus announcement got lost on its way hehe. Not really the right place and can’t say that I care about it, but had to say it anyway.

Yet here you are. Hypocrite.

DarkArchoNx66 29 October, 2015 @ 17:27

haha, why am I not a member of the community? I might have cancelled 8 months ago my sub but there’s always the chance of me coming back if the step up their game. Take it easy, mate.

You say you don’t care, yet felt the need to comment on it anyway. That makes you a hypocrite, friend. Sorry you can’t see that. :(

I bought until dawn in the current sale a few days ago.
It’s starts off a bit slow but really get going in the second half. I’m probably an hour or two away from the end and plan on playing it again on Halloween.
That frame rate though…! That frame rate!
I have a tip how to overcome some of the distracting frame rate drops. If you have a TV in game mode just turn that off and Try using the TV’s motion smoothing technology . It not only gives better image quality but can go a long way to enhancing the whole experience. There is obviously latency involved when doing that but it’s not enough you’ll ever miss a quick time event.

I never had problems with the frame rate. Didn’t even notice it because it was never choppy. Thankfully this isn’t a game like Devil May Cry where 60fps actually is necessary.

I’m going to give it a go around Halloween to get me in the mood, the 30% price cut on PSN store was a great move btw.

It’s still pretty expensive for what’s on offer. Would have liked to see something under the £30.
Just finished it tonight.

Until Dawn™ Dynamic Theme – Dynamic Theme | PS4

Not available for purchase

You are not able to purchase this product for the following reason(s):

You do not own
Until Dawn™
Until Dawn™
Until Dawn™

I have 1 copy not 3 – besides, it’s free according to the blog:

(‘The guys at PlayStation have also created a new Until Dawn dynamic theme for the PS4 being released for [[free]] just in time for Halloween on 30th October.’)

Getting the same here. I bought the disc version. Surely I should still be able to download it.

Got the digital version of until dawn, cannot download the theme either, says I don’t own until dawn?

Works for me

Works for me too but you really should increase the volume of the Theme music as it’s barely audible (sound effects are quite loud in comparison) same issue goes for the The Last of Us Outbreak theme.

Happy Halloween
