New Assassin’s Creed Syndicate trailer shows Jack the Ripper DLC in action

Get a glimpse of the new campaign expansion, out 15th December

Hi! I’m Benjamin Dumaz, Lead Mission Designer on Assassin’s Creed Syndicate – Jack the Ripper.

Our team has been working on Jack the Ripper for a little more than one year, and we are looking forward to its upcoming release. We are passionate about history and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is such a rich world – it has been a wonderful game to create additional content for.

The cherry on the cake? Creating content around the notorious and illusive serial killer Jack the Ripper. His story is filled with blanks and rumours, which gave us the opportunity to create a fictional story around the infamous Whitechapel serial killer, inspired by what little is known about him.

We are introducing a whole new gameplay system for Jack the Ripper. With the fear system, you will scare away your opponents or use friendly fire at your advantage.

Today, with this new trailer, we have the privilege to introduce the deadly cat and mouse game between the serial killer and Evie. The meeting between the Assassins and Jack the Ripper is a dramatic one: 20 years after Jacob and Evie liberated London from the grasp of Starrick’s Templars, Scotland Yard is unable to catch the serial killer, Detective Abberline is calling upon Evie Frye to put an end to the Ripper’s terror.

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? What will become of the Order, of the Creed, when it meets Jack the Ripper? We are very eager to see you unfold Jack’s mystery.

Reminds me more of The Elephant Man

Is there more expansions planned?

Jack the Rip-off DLC.

how childish

Somehow the general public and reviews seemed to be more favorable than before about this entry in the series, whereas I thought it was the worst one as of yet. Everyone complained about Unity while this one had a far less stable framerate with less AI in the picture. There’s also too much brown in this one, I get that it’s the Industrial Revolution but I missed some diversity in color. I’m glad it was decided to skip the multiplayer for this one, though, although co op would’ve been nice. I hope the next one goes back to a more open Black Flag set-up to change things up again. And would still love to see an AC in Japan if at all possible :p I’ll probably get this DLC on a sale and then reinstall the game again :)

(I loved Evie too, not sure why but probably my favorite protagonist so far next to Altaïr)

Japan as a setting? Boooring. Go and play Tenchu.

I would prefer ancient China as a setting if it has kungfu and all that.

Trailer has nothing but cutscenes. Are cutscenes the”action” now?

I really hope it’s splendid!
