LEGO Marvel’s Avengers gets free Captain America: Civil War and Ant-Man DLC

Brand new characters and gameplay are coming your way soon

At last, I’m free to speak about one of the most exciting things that we’ve been squirreling away on at TT Games for LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, outside of everything that already makes the game such a fun and authentic Marvel title (yes, Squirrel Girl reference intended… sorry!).

LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is getting some FREE, yes FREE, DLC content exclusively for all PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 players! What’s even more awesome is that this content is based on the brilliant Marvel’s Ant-Man movie and also one of my most anticipated films of 2016, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War. And yes, believe it or not I’ve managed to keep a lid on this, I’m not quite sure how… but I have.

LEGO Marvel’s Avengers already features content from six epic Marvel films (and a plethora of content from the rest of the Marvel Universe, including a ton of characters from Marvel Comics), however, now PlayStation gamers will be able to add content from two more movies to their LEGO Marvel’s Avengers experience.

So, I hear you all asking… what is this content exactly, and what makes it so exciting? (I don’t really hear you asking, it’s just a figure of speech, as I can imagine the thoughts that are in your head).

Well, first up we have the Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War Character Pack, which will be available at launch on 26th January and includes nine characters – YES… NINE CHARACTERS – featured in the upcoming movie: Captain America, Iron Man (Mark 46 armour), Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Falcon, War Machine, Scarlet Witch and my personal favorites, Crossbones and Agent 13.

It’s a great pack that will hopefully get everyone as excited as I am about the film. Obviously before you ask, YES, you will be able to take all of these characters into the main game, into the various levels or into the eight different open world locations.

The second is the Marvel’s Ant-Man Character & Level Pack, of course based on the Ant-Man movie, which will be available later this spring. This pack features an awesome level based on a section of the film (which one? I hear you ask… well, that’s top secret so you’ll have to wait and see!). It also has 11 great characters, including Ant-Man (Scott Lang), Ant-Man (Hank Pym), Ant-Thony (Flying Ant), Cassie Lang, Darren Cross, Scott Lang, Hank Pym, Hope Van Dyne, Luis, The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne) and Yellowjacket. We are really bringing Ant-Man and Yellowjacket to life with all the abilities that you’d expect them to have.

The team and I here at TT Games are positive you will really enjoy this DLC offering. But, not only are we bringing you the characters and the level content, the part of this pack I’m most excited about… Ant-Thony the Ant! You’ll be able to fly around on Ant-Thony within the DLC level and then into the main game as well.

When I watched the movie with the team, we really enjoyed it, so much so that I went back to watch it again the next day, and then saw the amazing playsets that LEGO created for the film. So to now be able to pair those together and bring them to life in LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, it’s yet another reason why this game has been an absolute delight to work on.

In addition to the movie and comic content in the game, we’re really looking forward to hearing what you all think of the many new features in LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, specifically the Avengers Team-Ups. When you think of the Avengers, you think of teamwork, pulling together against adversity as a team. So, now you can team-up characters to perform incredible combo moves to take down the bad guys.

#07 - 20140604-0190#08 - Co_Op (5)

Teaming up core Avengers results in unique moves based on the pairing so we hope you enjoy trying out all of the various combinations to see which is your favorite. For us, it’s yet another reason why LEGO Marvel’s Avengers has been such a pleasure to develop. All of us on the team here are Marvel fans so make sure you look out for the various references and nods we’ve put into the game to make it the most authentic and fun experience.

We really think that this is our best game yet – more humour, more characters, more features, more open world gameplay, more abilities and, of course, more movie content exclusively for PlayStation fans.

On behalf of myself and the team, we hope you have many hours of enjoyment when you play LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, and if you love it as much as we think you will, keep an eye out for the season pass content that we’ll be bringing your way, featuring classic comic content, as well as content from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Great stuff! Loved Lego Marvel and felt Lego Batman 3 was a step back from that, but can’t wait for this one.

I loved lego marvel on ps3, I really expect an open world in vita this time, if so, I will buy vita and ps4 version, one for the multiplayer with my son, the handheld version for playin solo and unlocking characters… so I really expect to receive a vita version not toned down.

If Tt is telling the truth the vita version will be 1:1 in scale plus 15 unique missions plus (not sure if all) missions will be with different heroes só different gameplay plus ally AI went from 1 to 3 on screen

Looks good. Is the DLC for vita too?

Free DLC…for a game that isn’t out yet……must keep the cynic in me quit…..

And must let the speller in me wake up – *”quiet”

Reminds me of the free DLC for Lego The Hobbit to add content for the third film…

I’m waiting to see if it really is open world on the ps vita.. never bothered with past lego vita games because they was nothing like the console versions..

infernalmonkey1 15 January, 2016 @ 05:35

Even if it is, it’ll still be a port of the 3DS version. So it’ll look like garbage and run at sub-native res. I wouldn’t bother. There hasn’t been a single good Vita LEGO game and that won’t ever change.

dirtydingus1979 15 January, 2016 @ 17:13

Lego Lord of the Rings was quite good and it was open world (small but open!)

@InfernalMonkey LEGO Jurassic World and the Chima games disagree.

I’m really looking forward to this one, it’s not going to be 1:1 with the Console version but is set to be the closest yet. They are built like the 3DS version but he game, audio and cut scenes have improved as time has gone on.

Pre-ordered… my kids and I are all very excited for this. Any chance of some LEGO avatars?

They needed to give some DLC away free after the total rip off Batman 3 season pass.

Will trophies be granted for a second logged in player for couch co-op? I don’t believe this was ever fixed with the launch title, LEGO Marvel: Superheroes and was a bit of a turn off. :(

yay, Ant-Thony. ^_^

i absolutely loved Lego Marvel Superheroes, can’t wait for this one.

let’s just hope you actually release this DLC, never did get that Battle of The Five Armies content for the Hobbit game.

not that the game was lacking content without it, it was just a shame to not finish the story.

and that is some very 80s hair on Agent 13, i love it. ^_^

I just know is go to be another great lego game. 2016 has some great games coming out

deve ser bom o game

How do I get the packs of I bought the disc???

I bought this for ps3, sticker on front said I could get this dlc, but how do I get it? There was no mention of how to get it anywhere in the case.
