New PlayStation-exclusive Exotic sniper rifle, quest, gear and more

Destiny: The Taken King’s big April Update is right around the corner, and that means new things to do, new gear to earn, and a new, higher Light Level to aspire to. As PlayStation.Blog’s resident Destiny aficionado, I reached out to our pals at Bungie to find out what kinds of goodies Guardians playing on PS4 or PS3 can expect come Tuesday.

Let’s kick things off with a note from everybody’s favorite Bungie Community Manager, DeeJ:

Hey, PlayStation Nation!

We’re really excited to provide you with new things to do and new things to earn in the April Update. The Reef is about to become the center of action in the game again, and the party wouldn’t be the same without you. Our friends at PlayStation.Blog have a lot of details to share about the exclusive content coming to Destiny, just for Guardians like you. For more details on the suite of updates coming to Destiny on April 12th, keep those sights trained on Bungie.net.

I hope we’ll see you in the Reef in April!

Of course, there’s a ton of other content coming to Destiny on Tuesday outside of the content listed here — for full details on the update, head over to Bungie.net.

Still having a lot of fun with this game after 4 weeks of playing. I’m digging the Velumbra!

Give it another for night or less……

BUNGiE/Destiny have their share of detractors, but for all the short comings its always worked… unlike Ubisofts Division which I’ve been locked out of playing for a few weeks, due to no fault of my own. Credit to BUNGiE for including new free content almost 2 years after release.

That said even though I love both Sony & BUNGiE I’m not huge on exclusivity on items like the Zen Meteor, sure it looks epic but players paid the same for the game regardless of system… so weapons/strikes should be available to both, cosmetic items and ships should have been the only exclusive to a system item. I know its a marketing gimmick but true players should show solidarity on this regardless of system they own. When it happens against me like Bioware releasing dlc a month later on PlayStation I boycott it.

Does anyone know what time this update drops?

six o’clock or there abouts guardian, just time to get dinner done and dusted and then light lv35 here i come.

em.. let me try that again ….. light lv335 here i come!

Ha, thanks Bladesy! You’ve just described my evening with 1000-Yard Stare precision…
