Ratchet & Clank was the best-selling game on PlayStation Store last month

Insomniac Games’ sees off Dark Souls 3 and Alienation to take the crown

You might have seen the team at Insomniac Games announce recently that Ratchet & Clank on PS4 is the fast-selling game in the series to date. No surprises then that it went in straight at the top of the PlayStation Store chart for the month of April 2016.

Elsewhere, Dark Souls 3 landed in third place in its first month on sale, and Housemarque‘s top-down shooter Alienation debuted at 9 after only four days on sale. Yay, time to party with Drinkbox on Vita Island. It’s a great game and a well-deserved 2nd place for Severed. :D Everyone owning a Vita should try it and stop moaning about “Vita has no gamez”.

CoolRichy007UK 11 May, 2016 @ 19:31

Vita has no place in the ratcher and clank post vita is dead anyway long live ps4 only!

madmanwithabox12 12 May, 2016 @ 13:52

CoolRichy… Are you 12?

Carnivius_Prime 11 May, 2016 @ 15:50

Good. I love Ratchet and Clank and played through the that game two and a half times since launch. Reckon Uncharted 4 will be the best selling for the next chart and deservedly so. Insomniac and Naughty Dog are awesome. :)

I picked up Ratchet and Clank in Argos as I was passing, the game itself brings back some great memories and delighted to see it selling so well! On the PSN side of things I finally got my pre-order in for No Man’s Sky so I can launch at launch :)

Dark Souls 3, Uncharted 4, Ratchet And Clank, Alienation & Severed. There’s been some great games out recently

frightwolf2005 12 May, 2016 @ 13:04

Quite right! I’ve bought The Witness, Gravity Rush Remastered, Ratchet & Clank, Alienation and Uncharted 4 and still would like to get Firewatch, Day of the Tentacle Remastered and Dark Souls III (didn’t get the last one since I just binged Bloodborne).

Hell of a year so far.

SORRY its off topic but please can u look into ISSUE with uncharted mp points THAT been bought from psn store and are NOT showing up ingame on uncharted 4 mp

R&C was a fantastic game, well deserved.

Nice to see Life is Strange back at number 5 too. Infact the top 5 is a fine list of games this month

Well deserved.
A rock solid title. Halfway through my 2nd playthrough. Gotta fully upgrade that sweet sweet RYNO! ;)
Top job insomniac!

Well-deserved position. Now it’s time for Uncharted 4! Both are amazing games, thanks for making them!

madmanwithabox12 11 May, 2016 @ 19:07

Disappointed we didn’t get Severed to number 1. What the hell guys?

DoYouLikeMyID 12 May, 2016 @ 07:01

Well, keep in mind the game was only on sale for four days in april. And it only lost out to Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth – A recent well-reviewed AAA-game that had a heavy discount in a recent sale.

I’d say Severed performed rather well all of that considered :)

Ratchet and Clank shoots up to first place and Severed cuts in second. Both are super fun.

infernalmonkey1 12 May, 2016 @ 00:01

Wow, Axiom Verge nowhere to be seen on the Vita charge.

Who knew charging around 30% more than the US for no reason would lose sales.

madmanwithabox12 12 May, 2016 @ 13:55

Also shows what happens when you burn your community like they did. Granted, I understand more important things came up in Tom Happs’ life and such, but this is a perfect example of why making promises you can’t keep doesn’t end well for you. The initial impression I got was that AV was launching on PS4/Vita simultaneously, yet they hadn’t even started it by the time PS4 was out.

That said, cross-buy probably hurts the sales for the Vita version specifically.

Ratchet and Clank was the first PS4 game I played through more than twice and also my first ever platinum trophy (normally I don’t really care about trophies but this one got me hooked) :) I guess that says something.

DoYouLikeMyID 12 May, 2016 @ 07:03

Glad to see Ratchet and Clank on top! :D Hopefully we’ll then get more full-length R&C games soon :D

UltraSilver64 12 May, 2016 @ 18:00

Kind of guessed Ratchet & Clank would be top of last month’s sales.

On another topic, you have Size Matters playable on PS Vita. Could we have Secret Agent Clank on there as well (and not just the demo)? I know it is on the US Store, could we have it on the EU Store as well?
