Couch co-op cook ’em up Overcooked hits PS4 on 3rd August

Everything you need to know about Team 17’s upcoming kitchen throwdown

Are you ready to travel across space and thyme, quite literally, on your quest to become the ultimate top chef capable of saving the endangered Onion Kingdom?

We’re super excited to announce that our delicious couch co-op cooking game Overcooked will be available to download on 3rd August for PlayStation 4.

Play solo or invite your friends to join you for some classic four player couch co-op action. I must warn you that things tend to get a little dicey when you’re joined by friends – and that’s in the co-operative mode! You’ll have to work as a team to prepare a range of foods and serve up a variety of tasty orders. Sharpen your knives and dust off your chef’s whites, there isn’t mushroom for error and the steaks are high in the Onion Kingdom!

And don’t be expecting regular kitchens… that would be far too predictable. You’ll be travelling the land cooking up a storm in street festivals, pirate ships, food trucks, haunted houses, frozen realms, fiery volcanoes and outer space!

Overcooked features:

  • 28 standard campaign levels plus an additional introductory level and final boss to conquer!
  • Local co-op play for one to four players across all campaign levels!
  • Nine versus levels to go head-to-head locally with either two or four players
  • A range of different and unusual kitchens to play across with different recipes to master – cook soup, burritos, burgers and fish and chips
  • 14 different chefs to play as!
  • 11 achievements to cook up

Overcooked is now available to pre-order on PS4 via PlayStation Store with a tasty 20% discount.

Would you look at the thyme? I best be off. Gouda luck!

I’ve been keeping an eye on this since it was first announced..looks like a really fun game! But is there no online at all?I hardly ever get to do couch multiplayer any more..maybe I should put an ad up in local paper `desperate for friends` :)

You could use the share play feature on ps4 to play online. ;)

@stBoa How do you share play with 3 other friends at the same time?

Inherentdragon 15 July, 2016 @ 21:13

@stBoa ah yeah, forgot all about the shareplay feature!:)

@CyraxPT haha good point, but even one extra person is better than none right?

Can all trophies be earned solo?

Saw them play it with eurogamer a few months back, seemed.. Ok??

To me, it seems to boil down to those very samey kid-oriented fast-food/time management games you see on the App/Play Store, albeit seasoned with a helping of local co-op & a bit more fun..??

I mean, it seems a little one dimension gameplay wise..??
I suppose it is what it is, and what more can you do with the recipe & for £10..

It does look fun in multiplayer & I might pick it up to play with the kids, but it doesn’t look like a substantial enough meal for me atm..

Looks like a ton of fun to play with friends, only downside is that I had to spent a bunch of money on more controllers so I have 4 of them.

Will it be avalable on PS Store Russia? cuz it’s Sony you know, many games avalable on Xbox Live at the same time not avalable on PS Store local. Just curious.

Wow an iOS game on ps4 yawn.

Hello friends

You sold me on the puns alone! “There isn’t mushroom for error and the steaks are high in the Onion Kingdom!”

Would be so all over this if it had online, couch co-op only games are a no go for a LOT of people I know.
