Free RIGS Mechanized Combat League December update detailed: new arena, Rigs, weekly trials, more

More customisation items promised…

RIGS Mechanized Combat League has been out for a month, and we’re delighted with the response from players. Your words of praise, excitement and encouragement have been absolutely wonderful. In turn, we have some wonderful news for you!

At Guerrilla Cambridge we try to listen to all player feedback, whether it’s compliments or criticism. We’ve received a lot of love and several helpful suggestions from the community over the last few weeks, and we’ve been busy investigating ways to enhance your RIGS Mechanized Combat League experience further in our ongoing post-launch support.

Post-launch support is an important part of our RIGS Mechanized Combat League plan, and we’re excited to announce that in December we’ll be releasing our first free update! Packed with a bevy of improvements and new content, including:

New APX Rigs

Faster and more agile than the standard chassis types, APX Rigs will have a lower armour rating to ensure that they don’t have an unfair advantage over the standard models. We anticipate that the APX Rigs will quickly become fan favourites for seasoned players.

New Zurich arena

Introducing the first European arena on the global Rigs circuit! This Arena is an extension of the Rigs HQ Complex, and offers a balanced layout with a clear overview for the Tempest class and plenty of tunnels for the Hunter class. Skillful use of shields will prove essential when trying to reach the goal during a PowerSlam match.

New weekly trials series

Every week we’ll be presenting players with a series of trials to compete in. Successful completion is rewarded with in-game credits, fame and exclusive customisation items.

Customisation store & items

Players will be able to use earned in-game credits to purchase brand-new customisation items and victory celebrations for their Rigs pilot at the Customisation Store.

We’ll have more information on the finer details of the December update for you soon. In the meantime, keep playing, streaming and talking about RIGS Mechanized Combat League, and be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook to stay in the loop on Rigs special events such as ‘Beat The Dev’.

Game on, pilots!

A really great game that lacks content currently but I see we can feel quite safe about it. Rocket League had also little content in the beginning and look at it now :)

Thanks for the kind words good sir :)

It’s great to see the game being supported like this. I’ve only just got PSVR and Rigs was one of my first games for it. It’s great fun and updates like this will keep me coming back.

We like to keep things fresh :) and implement a lot of community feedback.

RIGS is still my favourite VR title.

My only suggestion so far is to have the option to set up our own custom offline matches. I don’t enjoy Powerslam and would much rather play Team Takedown.

Easily my favourite PSVR title, and pretty much the game of the moment; and that’s without touching the online for me. Good to see it getting post launch love. Keep it up, the community will only grow post Christmas.

We are trying to mix a lot of content that works both offline and online to keep everyone happy :)

This game is actually the only reason why i would want PSVR, the rest just seems so gimmicky.

What is the expirience with this game playing for longer 3h+ sessions?

I’ve done 6 hours straight before, competition gets harder, but your reflexes improve dramatically, something a standard game could never achieve.

We close the comments for posts after 30 days.
