Talisman: Digital Edition rolls the dice on PS4 and PS Vita this spring

Games Workshops’ role-playing board game offers Cross Play and local play

Talisman really is coming to PlayStation! Okay, so you’ve heard rumours in the past about it being released, well this time it’s really happening! Nomad Games now have the license to bring Talisman to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita and we have it on good authority that it’s not far off the release date – early this spring in fact.

So for all you fantasy RPG fans out there, be prepared for an epic adventure with friends and family this Spring!

What is Talisman? For the uninitiated, imagine you and five of your best friends are fantasy heroes of great renown: a heroic warrior, a powerful sorceress, or even a sage wizard or a benevolent troll. Each of you are on a Magical Quest – In this perilous adventure, players battle it out to journey across a dangerous land and be the first to claim the Crown of Command, a magical artefact with the power to destroy all rivals and make the bearer the true ruler of the kingdom. On your travels, you will need strength, courage and some good dice rolls to survive the dangers you face and beat your opponents to the centre of the board.

Talisman is Games Workshops’ epic role-playing board game, faithfully adapted and reimagined by Nomad Games to bring the experience to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. Crossplay on the two platforms will be available, providing a great way to interact with the game when there’s a group of players in the same room.

Talisman is very inclusive for all the family, bringing back traditional board games but playing on a modern digital platform that will appeal to all. There has been a significant rise in board game popularity and Talisman has a strong community following, over the years numbering in the millions.

For players new to the game, there’s a quick and interactive tutorial to guide you through the basic rules. You can play solo, over PSN against friends or random opponents, or (and this is our favourite) you can gather around the TV with your friends and family playing locally to see which of you has the muster to make it to the Crown and claim it for yourself.

For seasoned Talisman players the PlayStation version will include over 50 characters to choose from, alternative endings and rules, unlockable perks, as well as a number of expansions.

We’re incredibly excited to bring Talisman to life on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, and we can’t wait to share it with you all this Spring.

Check out the announcement trailer, and stay tuned for the launch date and other details in the coming weeks.

Nice, nice like really nice.
And do you really believe this is family friendly? I know my friends and I always find ways to get “game angry” at each other :D Usually laugh it off after the run but during? It’s madness! XD

Friendly until someone is toaded, then it’s a race to grab their loot!

haha, yepp :D Man I really do hope this translates well to the PS4.
Throw it up on the projector and have all of us play it together.

Used to play the board game of this many years ago. Will definitely pick this up to play with my kids.

Just two days ago I mentioned to a friend how bummed I was that Talisman for PS3 got cancelled. Someone obviously heard me but damn, that was quick!

Love this game, got the board game, tablet game, pc game :)
whats the plan re the expansion packs then, is it a full release with everything included, or like steam where there is a season pass and purchasable dlc afterwords

The game will be a one-off purchase and will include the following expansions – Reaper, Frostmarch, Highlands, Dungeon, Sacred Pool, Nether Realm and City. All of the extra characters will be included too, except for the two most recently added ones, the Martial Artist and Saracen.

sounds good, could be a must buy then if priced well enough, can’t have enough Talisman :)

Hello . These are excellent news . I have the game on Pc will definitely buy it on PS4 . What about the other expansions though (The Dragon , Blood moon , firelands , woodland , the cataclysm) ? Please tell me that there are plans to include those as well

Hi. There are no plans at the moment, but that could change. The PS4 version includes everything up to Nether Realm as one complete package. We haven’t ruled out adding more content later.

Did I understand it correctly – Only local play? Not online pvp?

There is online PvP, plus local multiplayer.

Thank you . Do you have an official release date ?

Not yet as it depends on submissions and some last minute fixes, but we’ll be announcing the date as soon as we know it. Not long to go!

Just to clarify the online aspect, would someone with the Vita version but without a PS4 play online with another person using the PS4 version? I haven’t done much online gaming so am not sure of the “instead and outs”.

Yes that is correct.
