Team Ninja’s PS4 action game Nioh gets last chance trial this weekend

DLC rewards for full game to those that conquer the new demo

We are now only three weeks away from releasing Nioh on PS4 and we can’t wait to get it into your hands. We hope you’ve all been steeling yourself for the tough battles that lie ahead!

In case you’ve missed it until now, Nioh is an intricate action RPG built around deep combat. Inspired by Japanese history and legendary samurai, Nioh will see you step into the shoes of our protagonist William as he faces off against other warriors and supernatural creatures in a gruelling quest set in 16th century Japan.

You’ll need real mettle and resolve to push through Nioh’s gruelling encounters, but fear not – to prepare you for the launch on 8th February, we’ve arranged one last chance for you to get some practice in.

The Last Chance Trial will be running this weekend, 21st – 22nd January, giving you a chance to sample an expanded version of what we showed at the PSX event in December. Download the trial from PlayStation Store today, so you can pre-load and get started as soon as the Last Chance Trial activates on Saturday 21st January.

For those who have the skill to make it through the Last Chance Trial, a number of extra rewards for the final game await you. Beating the Main Mission will net you the Ogress Headgear, whereas completing the Twilight Mission will give you a last chance to secure the Mark of the Conqueror and Mark of the Strong from last year’s Alpha and Beta.

To access the Ogress Headgear in the final game, you will need to keep your save data from the Last Chance Trial so don’t delete it until launch! For Mark of the Conqueror and Mark of the Strong, you will be prompted to download DLC that you’ll also need to keep on your PS4 until launch. In-game, visit shrines to receive these “Boons” and reap the rewards!

Best of luck, warriors!

Thanks for this chance, I was on holidays during the previous trial. Can’t wait to play this (and then the whole game).

No way. The weekend I’m home alone due to girlfriend house sitting and I was planning to have a few breezy, chilled, relaxing gaming days.

Now you do this.

Too tough and dark for me :'(
But I did like the various stances and can see why people who like this genre should be excited.

ok but still….STILL….no collectors edition? with a kick @ss sword or something? come on…i’ve never wished to buy a collectors edition more than now :(

I’ve a problem, I got mark of the strong and mark of the conqueror, from the alpha and beta, but when I bought a pro I didn’t transfer any data over because I had to sell the standard PS4 to be able to afford the PS4Pro.
Can I get these again or will I have to beat everything again lol?
I couldn’t see them on the store to download again or in my library anywhere…

So I completed the Alpha, will i get the reward? As I got the mark, but do not want to play the demo’s anymore as I don’t want to get spoiled anymore until i get the game.

This would have been the first demo I could have played (missed the alpha and beta) and exactly this and next week I don’t have any way to download it because of problems with my provider.
Fantastic …

Played it last night. Smashed it. Game deffo lives up to difficulty. Beat the boss. Now to try twilight level now

I can’t play it. It crashes at the title screen every time. I’ve tried reinstalling it. Nothing. Disappointed.

The trial was great, although the controls at the boss felt a bit cheap sometimes. Day 1 buy for me, though, I’m a sucker for this kind of game.

We close the comments for posts after 30 days.
