Enjoy combat in 1080p, new levels and modes alongside refreshed PS3 & PS Vita levels

We are excited to announce that the Malicious series makes its PS4 debut today with the latest installment, Malicious Fallen.

In addition to the many brand new levels and an entirely new game mode, Pursuit, this definitive edition includes all 12 levels from the PS3 and PS Vita versions, fully remastered in 1080p and targeting 60 FPS. What’s more, PS4 Pro owners will be treated to stunning dynamic 4K visuals.

All of this amounts to the most vibrant and eye-popping Malicious to date. If words aren’t convincing enough, check out some of the great gameplay footage in our newest trailer:

However, the game itself isn’t all that’s available today. We’re glad to be offering our music-loving fans the Malicious Fallen soundtrack as well, featuring 31 original tracks. And, for those who’d like to show their love for Malicious Fallen in style, we also have a Malicious Fallen dynamic theme as well as a bundle of 32 unique avatars featuring many of the characters and enemies encountered throughout the kingdom of Santiville. For the most devoted Malicious fans, we’re even offering the Malicious Fallen Deluxe Edition, containing all of this content.

However you decide to play, now is the time to take to your Spirit Vessel, confront Malicious, and rid Santiville of darkness. We hope you enjoy this latest chapter in the series, Malicious Fallen, and most importantly, good luck!

Before you go, we’ll leave the final words to Hiraki-san and the Alvion development team:

Hello Everyone, Malicious series director Hiraki here.

Malicious Fallen, the concluding chapter of the Malicious series, is finally out today in Europe.

When the time came to start creating the game, it was a real struggle to work out the direction in which we wanted to head. In the end though, these were our priorities:

  • To create a lean and concentrated play experience.
  • To give the player freedom to think up and execute varied play strategies.
  • To stay true to the Malicious series concept of tangible player improvement as you play, and therefore double down on the action elements and responsiveness of the controls.

Many fans wanted more Malicious than we were able to provide before, so for this title, we’ve decided to include both previous Malicious games in this package to go along with the newest content to sate all your Malicious needs.

For both The Slayer and Rebirth, originally on PS3 and PS Vita respectively, we’ve put a lot of work into remastering the games, making the bosses of The Slayer more approachable, and adding tweaks to those of Rebirth in the process.

We hope that any returning series veterans will enjoy the changes, and find pleasure in experiencing these games again in different ways.

The new story Demise will retain the demanding difficulty level expected of a Malicious game, but we’ve also added in a whole new level of challenge for those with a mind to try the new Pursuit mode.

By the way, even though there’s more content than ever before in a Malicious game, it’s as tough as ever, so don’t forget to take breaks between chapters!

Looking back seven whole years to those memories of drafting the initial vague, shifting ideas and plans for the first game, never did I ever think we’d ever see the project come so far. It’s entirely down to the support of the fans that it’s been possible.

We’d love nothing more than for everyone to enjoy playing Malicious Fallen as much as we’ve enjoyed making it. Please, get it in your hands and give it a whirl!
