PlayStation at E3 2017: What, where and when

Everything you need to know to make sure you’re up to date with all the news from LA this week

As we collectively ready ourselves for next week, it’s time to roll out our E3 plans. Ready the calendar, and fire open your social feeds.

We’re kicking off our E3 activities with the PlayStation Media Showcase. You can watch the entire conference live at, starting at 1.00am BST/2.00am CEST early on the morning of 13th June.

You’ll want to keep a tab open for PlayStation Blog as well over the course of the show and after, as we’ll be publishing posts authored by key guest developers, offering deeper dives into the key announcements from the show.

You’ll also get a chance to replay (and replay, and replay) your favourite trailers from the conference on our YouTube channel once the show concludes.

Even if you’re still at home we’ll make sure you feel like you’re right in the heart of the action. We’ll be on Twitter with behind the scenes updates from the show floor, so make sure to follow us there (and/or on Facebook) for E3’s highlights direct to your eyes (ears optional), wherever you are.

The PlayStation Blog team will be on the ground in Los Angeles at E3, seeing some of the biggest PlayStation games at the show and talking to the people behind them. Keep tuned to the site over the course of the week for those impressions, and drop in on our North American comrades who’ll be broadcasting all week from the LA Convention Centre via Our friends over at PlayStation Access will be publishing new videos from E3 every day of the show, so be sure to follow them on YouTube.

Finally, if you want to see the coolest sights and sounds from E3’s showfloor – and who wouldn’t – then we’d recommend you follow us on both Instagram and Snapchat (simply scan the Snapchat code below to start following us). We’ve got some fun stuff planned, so do check in with us on both channels every day from Monday 12th June.

Will host an archive of the showcase for those of us sleeping at 1AM? :-)

Gillen McAllister 09 June, 2017 @ 15:22

It will!

Will Sony E32017 livestream confence be shown on YouTube on PlayStation channel

A lot of news outlets mentioned the media briefing starts at 2.00am BST/3.00am CEST. Is there a pre-show or something? I don’t want to miss an extra hour of sleep just for that – sorry – but I also don’t want to miss the thing if it really starts at 1.00am BST/2.00am CEST.

Eric Whelan 09 June, 2017 @ 16:17

We’ll have coverage and news from 1am BST, so if you want to get all the details first, we’d recommend tuning in then.

I’ve heard there is a free theme up for grabs just for watching, is this true?

US only. but they’re trolling us by using the free theme as the main image of this post lol

CaptnSpaulding 09 June, 2017 @ 16:08

Will you be giving stuff away like the US? They’ll be giving out themes and other stuff. Not very fair that we’re missing out yet again.

Looks like the EU gets shafted yet again.

sultanab1din 09 June, 2017 @ 19:55

what about twitch ?

Just a quick question: Will we be able to rewatch the entire conference from that stream link the next day, without any spoilers onscreen?

Will The PS5 Be Realesed?

Yes it will. You can buy it as well.

Keep dreaming.

ThroughTheIris56 10 June, 2017 @ 10:11

It will be a free download that is available immediately.

Battlefront 2, Last of Us 2, Call of Duty WWII, God of War, FIFA 18 OMG OMG

LUNG_CANCER101 09 June, 2017 @ 21:29

just checking region

TTo recap: no VR support. What a missed opportunity to shine…

Sad thing is, Days Gone, SpiderMan, God of War, Detroit, Death Stranding have all been already announced during previous E3s. Only Horizon Zero Dawn was released. If this E3 is going to recap those games again it will be a huge disappointment. Where did the good ol’times go when games announced during E3 were released before the next E3.

You called it! Sadly…

Any chance to get the theme you’re using for the banner image?

Please add cross-play with Minecraft. Every single platform is doing it even the Switch except the PS4. That’s really backwards and not 4 the players at all

Carnivius_Prime 12 June, 2017 @ 09:16

Well the Xbox conference was cruddy so Sony don’t have to try so hard but they should anyways.

DockerBigAl 12 June, 2017 @ 12:19

So how do we watch on PS4? Is there no dedicated channel?

Youtube app.

So how do we get the theme the US PSN members get? Or is this another one of those “US-only” idiotic things?

Finka_Karfein 13 June, 2017 @ 08:04

Very weak conference in my opinion. Only 1h when even Ubisoft without a console had it longer, no Gio Corsi and his “and Vita”, very few truly new announcements, mostly updates (even if some cool, I must admit). For me, the best announcements were already showed before the conference itself – Superhot VR and Undertale for Vita.

In terms of conference content, Microsoft and Ubisoft crushed you this time. I hoped for something of Shenmue 1&2 HD Edition caliber.

Analyze the audience reactions during your conference – almost silence every time. Remember what happened during Shenmue III reveal?

I find it hard to be downhearted after spiderman and days gone were shown, looked amazing. Add in the multi plats and i wont have enough time or money to get them all anyway. The crowd overall was more subdued than usual, apart from when that girls head exploded, hope shes ok.

Emperor_Mordred 13 June, 2017 @ 13:45

That was the most underwelming Sony press conference in ages!

Come on, half of the game announcements were rereleases and the VR announcements were a mixed bag.

I don’t think even 1 AAA first party game got announced this year.

Even the presentation was unexciting, at least Ubisoft knows how to have fun onstage.

The Devolver Digital ‘press conference’ will probably win E3, which is kinda sad/amazing.

We close the comments for posts after 30 days.
