Gran Turismo Sport releases on 18th October 2017

The original racing simulator returns, make sure you’re amongst the first to take to the track

Hello GT Fans!

I’m extremely excited to confirm that Gran Turismo Sport will be launching on October 18th across Europe this year. Following the successful completion of our Closed BETA phase, as announced earlier this week, we are now entering the final stages of polishing as we prepare for launch.

Between now and launch you can expect to hear a lot more from the GT team, as we unveil more information on the many features included in Gran Turismo Sport, including the campaign mode, various creative tools, as well as a full reveal on all the cars and tracks you can look forward to racing on launch day!

In the meantime though, I’d like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself and PDI, to express my gratitude for the continued support of GT fans and PlayStation supporters around the world during this BETA period. We’re as keen as all of you to get the game into player’s hands, and can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks of the game when it launches in October.

We’ve strived to create something that delivers an unprecedented experience in terms of the graphics, sound and physics simulation;an experience that can only be enjoyed on PlayStation.

Gran Turismo Sport is available to pre-order now from both PlayStation Store and retailers across Europe. We’ve plenty of choices available to GT fans to help select the right edition for them…

On top of the Standard Edition full game, we’ve also got:

  • Gran Turismo Sport Collector’s Edition
  • Gran Turismo Sport Steel Book Edition
  • Gran Turismo Sport Day 1 Edition
  • Gran Turismo Sport Digital Deluxe Edition
  • Gran Turismo Sport Digital Edition

For more information please continue to check out the official PlayStation channels and the Gran Turismo website.

Will this have good SP (Single Player) content? Like the previous GT’s? Or only focus mainly on online?

The Beta had the Arcade mode, which is the Single player option

Nearly 4 years into the life of ps4 is kinda late… the agonizingly long wait is almost over !

I really hope people come back to this franchise and it kicks the online racing community into gear once again.

Gt6 should never have been a ps3 release and only delayed gt sport and hurt the franchise.

I’ve brought all the mainline gt games (as well as gt concept and ps4) day 1. This one will not be. Beta just didn’t grab me, and I always said they’d have to significantly improve the single player racing aspect for me to be interested. Gt6 was basically all time trials with moving obstacles . Add to that a dramatically reduced vehicle list and more importantly, circuit list. Far more interested in project cars 2 at this point and the previews are looking really good on that.

Ps4 should be psp, damn autocorrect

Project Cars 2? Really? Sure it’ll be a good game, but Project Cars for SP? I’ll be getting PC2 but it’ll only for some online as SP is pretty much no existent in Project Cars. GT:S be great offline & still even better online with its competitions & ranking system.

You could at least wait in see some SP races / AI before saying that PC2 is better with its non existing SP.

I agree with you on Project Cars 2. Heard a lot of previews and they say it will be a lot better than the first one.. and it’s also looks good. I haven’t had the chance to try this Closed beta but i really wanted to..

Hopefully they will finally get the engine sounds right, I’m tired of listening to vacuum cleaners, blenders and lawn mowers.

I still don’t understand it, it takes more than 4 years to develop a game that’s quality is superseded by third party developers and the first party developers of other manufacturers, whom also deliver 2 or 3 very well received games in that time.

Wouldn’t even been 4 years since GT6 had released when GT:Sports is out, GT6 came out after PS4 had released. Seems like a very reasonable time frame between games with the dev size they have & they content they’ve produced. Also great that they can fine tune the game before release this time, unlike previous GT titles except for GT1.

you devs take far too long on these games. Make something fun.

I really hope this is amazing. Compare to the Forza series on XB1 which releases every year, and is amazing. GT6 was average, let’s hope this one blows all else out of the water on PS4 Pro! If not then surely the GT series is dead in the water.
