For Honor’s upcoming heroes and maps debuted during today’s Hero Series Finals

Watch the eSports competition’s livestream from 6pm BST and get a glimpse of next season's upcoming content

Since its launch last February, For Honor has been praised for its innovative skill-based combat system, and many expected the game to make its way into eSports at some point. Aiming to take the game’s emergent competitive landscape to the next level, Ubisoft kicked off the For Honor Hero Series, an international Duel tournament organized in partnership with ESL, a month ago.

For the last month, hundreds of players clashed swords in weekly qualifiers in order to earn their spot at the highest level and get a chance to display their skills on the big stage. After four weeks of fierce competition, the best players from select American and European regions have been invited to Burbank, California, where the For Honor Hero Series Finals will take place today, 12th August. Competitors will play for $10,000 in cash prizes.

Those looking to get a glimpse at top-tier competitive play can watch the event live by tuning into the For Honor Season 3 Live Event on twitch.tv/forhonorgame, starting 6PM BST today.

The PlayStation 4 final between the best North American RavelordServant and the best European player Highraven will start at 6.15PM BST and crown the first ever Hero Series platform champion.

The Live Event will also let viewers witness exclusive live gameplay of the new Heroes and maps coming in Season Three “Grudge & Glory”, so that is the perfect place in case you’re interested to see the proud Highlander and the fearless Gladiator in action.

“At ESL we are committed to growing the esports landscape and For Honor’s competitive ecosystem has been something we’ve all been looking forward to,” said Sean Charles, VP of Publisher and Developer Relations, ESL. “With the For Honor Hero Series and the addition of ranked mode, there is a lot in store for future For Honor players.”

For Honor’s competitive play will continue following the Hero Series, as the Finals will lead into the launch of For Honor’s third Season, Grudge & Glory, on 15th August. The new season will bring ranked play to the game with the introduction of 1v1 tournaments, and Ubisoft already announced that 4v4 tournaments will be introduced later this year.
