4 big new PlayStation Store releases you need to check out this week

Middle-earth: Shadow of War, WWE 2K18, The Evil Within 2 and more…

This week, hang out with dwarves, elves, Orcs and Uruks in an open-world Middle Earth in the long-awaited sequel to 2014’s acclaimed Shadow of Mordor – Middle-earth: Shadow of War launches on Tuesday!

It’s an entirely different kind of drama that awaits in WWE 2K18, with the deluxe edition releasing this Friday. Get in the ring and wrestle with epic storylines and the biggest superstars on the circuit!

But even if you’re not an action adventure fan or a wrestling fanatic, there are plenty of experiences to choose from this week. Here are our highlights, plus the week’s full release schedule.

1. Middle-earth: Shadow of War

The long-awaited sequel to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor picks up where the first game left off, sandwiched between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Follow the Ranger Talion and the spirit of the elf lord Celebrimbor in their quest to forge a new Ring of Power to fight Sauron.

2. WWE 2K18

WWE 2K18 is back with the biggest roster in the franchise’s history! WWE fans and fighting game fanatics can enjoy all the hard-hitting action and drama of WWE with new game modes, match types, and an expanded character creation. Will you dare step into the ring?

  • Why you should play it: Compete for the title, headline Wrestlemania and write your name in the history books of WWE!
  • Releases: 13th October

3. The Evil Within 2

The Evil Within 2 brings you to a world filled with nightmares as you follow Detective Sebastian Castellanos in his quest to save his daughter Lily from the Mobius corporation. The choice is yours: either confront enemies head on or sneak your way past danger. But either way you’ll have to face and survive the horrors within.

  • Why you should play it: Produced by Resident Evil series creator, Shinji Mikami, the Evil Within 2 has you face some serious surrealist scares.
  • Releases: 13th October

4. Echo

Echo is a sci-fi action puzzler with a twist: your enemies will adapt to your play style. Follow En as she tries to infiltrate The Palace – an intriguing structure that spawns Echoes, made to resemble you not only physically but psychologically. As you play, they will get smart and evolve their strategy specifically to counter you.

  • Why you should play it: Your biggest enemy is yourself. Combat an A.I that evolves to counter your infiltration strategies.
  • Releases: 11th October

And here’s the full rundown of all this week’s new releases:

Good week for Vita, I’ll be picking up Semispheres and Twin Robots (fingers crossed the latter actually turns up this week as promised)

Really looking forward to Semispheres too! Seems pretty perfect for the Vita.

StevenJamesHyde 10 October, 2017 @ 09:18

…although it appears that Semispheres doesn’t have a Platinum trophy, contrary to what the developer stated on these pages ( , comment 1.1).Disappointing

Don’t know where you got this info. I just bought the game and I can confirm it HAS a platinum trophy

Lets keep trying onde more time…

Can someone please explain why so many PSP and vita games missing in the portuguese PS store? Samurai shodown v came out weeks ago and its still has ps4 only

Hi, is The Evil Within 2 will be available in Saudi Arabia ?

Hey, it doesn’t look like this has been rated in Saudi Arabia at the moment so it’s unlikely you’ll see it on Store this week.

Has the Invisible Hours been delayed a week for the EU release.I read an article earlier today saying it was delayed.

Also could you tell people that the just released Gran Turismo time limited demo has no VR portion,as I’m sick of

having to tell all those who didn’t do any research. Thanks

Will do my best to find out what’s happening with this for you.

Thanks for the reply Eric.Look forward to hearing back from you, cheers.

The Invisible Hours appears to be delayed. No sign of it in the store and the article has been mysteriously modified to 4 big releases instead of 5. Some explanation would have been nice. I’m really looking forward to this game.

bit off topic, but when is the next PsNow update, the American PSN got some decent games for the October (or shocktober) update.

can we expect anything soon? (plus give us the fallouts too :D)

Can’t say exactly when, but it’s very, very soon! Keep an eye on the blog for an update.

Great news, thanks for the quick reply :)

Thank you for putting links to the store for all the games!! Even though not all the sites are up yet but I guess that’s just the nature of things.

Just wanted to say thanks to Eric for taking the time to respond… hopefully this community doesn’t break your gentle spirit like we did with Fred, Jawad, Francesca etc…

Still no A Hat in Time ? I thought it was supposed to be released last week. News, anyone ?

ThroughTheIris56 10 October, 2017 @ 00:36

Unfortunately PC release first, consoles have to wait :( Though allegedly it’s coming sometime this Autumn.

Carnivius_Prime 09 October, 2017 @ 17:33

Will probably get Shadow of War when cheaper. Don’t like Lord of the Rings at all but picked up Shadow of Mordor in a sale a few months ago and really enjoyed it’s mission structure and combat mechanics.

Great 4 new aca neo geo titles

Evil Within 2 and GOTG Ep 4 for me this week. No Hat in Time yet but I guess I am being too eager

Any idea if the EU Store will get Battle Garegga Rev.2016 at some point?

Not very happy I got fast internet but GT demo take hours to download it’s stupid. I hope GT sport in couple days .

Is wwe2k18 out on 17th October

Is realms of Arkania really out on Thursday? Kinda hope so

What about Raw Data?

That game is supposed to come to PSVR tomorrow (10-10-2017), right?

It has been delayed to the 18th for Europe and Australia. It was on Twitter earlier

Hi Eric, is there any information with what exactly has happened to Blue Reflection for Australia?

Don’t have any solid details on this, sorry!

Thank you for at least replying

Jesus what happened with Shadow of buy some Gold to get new gear or something else. 2017 is really a pay to win or enjoy the whole game year. We need to stop this cancer, otherwise its gonna ruin gaming forever. Don’t get me wrong, i love Middle Earth, but i don’t like what are they doing with it. I don’t have a problem with DLC’s until it’s fair priced and has a content that sticks you to the screen. But my choice is The Evil Within 2!

J.R.R. Must be rotating in his grave what they did with franchise, story twists pulled out of nowhere, but it’s hell of fun game (at least first was)

ThroughTheIris56 10 October, 2017 @ 00:36

Evil Within 2 for me!

No Raiden-v-directors-cut?

Even PEGI has release 10th October

deathnote2000 10 October, 2017 @ 10:59

27th Oct.

Why is Rock Band and Rocksmith DLC left out of these announcements?

They both have new content each week.

Speaking of Rock Band, 2 years later after Rock Band 4’s release on the PS4, we SIEE users are STILL waiting for many of our PS3 entitlements to be available on the PS4, whereas SIEA and XBOX users have almost all of their content available.

Do we have to light a fire under SIEE or take legal action against SIEE as we did with Rocksmith to get something to happen?

It’s getting beyond a joke. If you (SIEE) believe the developer is at fault, then please contact and work with Harmonix to fix this. Two years is too long.

No Son of Scoregasm for PS Vita? Hopefully someone just forgot to put it in the store update….

Tamagod_Sushi 10 October, 2017 @ 10:04

Where’s Danganronpa V3 for the Vita :(

Cheeki_Breeki_UA 10 October, 2017 @ 11:57

Hi will hotline Miami collection be available for ps vita ?

“Dive in to J. R. R. Tolkien’s fantastic universe […]”

This is a downright fraudulent lie. Professor Tolkien had nothing to do with this travesty of a story.
