Lewis Hamilton vs. the Nürburgring

Also dropping today, we’re excited to introduce the first of our Lewis Hamilton mentor videos, as Lewis goes head to head with the infamous Nürburgring circuit.

With two videos, one aimed at beginners and one for the more seasoned racer, the four-time world champion offers guidance and tips on how to navigate this notoriously challenging circuit.

Both videos provide a real insight into how Lewis races – from how he selects his racing lines and braking points, to his general racing philosophy that guides how he tackles every circuit.

Both the beginner and expert videos can be found in the Lewis Hamilton section of the Brand Central area. Rarely has Lewis provided this level of insight into what makes him one of the best racers in the world, so be sure to check them out before you take to the track.

Take a sneak peek below at what you can look forward to seeing in-game.

Remember to stay tuned to Gran Turismo and PlayStation channels to ensure you’re up-to-date with the latest news.

For now though, from everyone at Polyphony Digital, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Awesome news, I hope that everybody complaining about lack of SP can now shut up and enjoy this great game, additionally: currently it’s half price off for two days

1.1

More free content is certainly the best incentive. Especially considering it’s fairly low on content to begin with.

How can we enjoy something we boycotted? Wait a minute, hows is it a “great game” when you don’t have PS Plus which is a requirement to play even the single player content let alone the online stuff?

andrewsqual it’s not a requirement for single player.

Can I tune my cars and do car wash now tho

Also I recommend adding a Jukebox mode like Tekken 7 where you can hear all previous GT music in GT Sport can mix and match

2.1

Yes Jukebox or something so you can actually turn off the songs you don’t want to hear at all…

And I’m not sure, but do the cars even get dirty in this series? If they do, I haven’t noticed and it must be really subtle…

Although glad there is now Single Player stuff, still feel this should of been included when originally released. Maybe then the reviews of the game would of been higher.

There might be some singleplayer content now but the fact that it’s an always online game really downgrades the brilliant controls in my experience. So far the controls of even my most used cars never felt completely the same in terms of handling and accelerating, due to lag and the sorry state of online gaming nowadays. And I’m not even really playing online versus others, just Arcade. I experience the same problems in other online-only games like Destiny where the controls seem to feel different from day to day, depending on the state of the servers. And it’s not my connection, I rarely download anything to prioritize online gaming, I’m even wired. I find myself constantly in awe that we now have to pay for it, via the non related awful PS+ service to make matters worse, and never having hit the standard that it did on PS3, for free. Sony, you should be ashamed.

Ontopic, not too many cars I’m interested in but at least I get another Ferrari and Lambo to drive in. Can we please get...

Ontopic, not too many cars I’m interested in but at least I get another Ferrari and Lambo to drive in. Can we please get a regular N500 or whatever R8 on top of the Gr.3 R8 LMS. Totally ridiculous that there isn’t a regular R8 available to begin with…

Could you also consider adding an option to skip songs during races. While I love the Menu music, I really hate a lot of the music during races. Especially things like Metal that really don’t help in trying to keep calm…

BLOG : Fix your edit function and blog, it often displays the message several times and makes the edit function useless. There’s also major slowdown while typing sometimes.

4.2

Why don’t you just turn the music off, after all, it is a racing game, so it’s better to listen to the engine than the music.

Is that possible? I remember checking for it but not finding an option. In GT5 you had a list of music and could select which tracks would play. Here I get a list of music in which I can only select a certain song to play at the moment, I haven’t noticed any other options. During racing there are no options at all for music. And in any case, I would only want the music off during races, the menu music is absolutely beautiful : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEjtZXPYHzY

Good news , now you have to just get rid of the “always on” !

Yey

Ctrl+f “vr”: 1 match, in the word Chevrolet

Just like earlier GT:S update news, it completely ignores insufficient PSVR support. I’m not even talking about technical limits, the mode doesn’t even do half of what it could. Where’s VR career progress? Time trial? 1 on 1 online races? This is hardly more than an attached VR demo. Super disappointing.

8

Polyphony should look at FORZA 7 a complete package from launch.

First gran turismo to disappoint:-(

8.1

I’d say the first to disappoint was GT5 prologue or the PSP Gran Tursimo.

8.2

True

8.3

Oh, I loved the PSP GT! The controls were pretty great as expected from this series, even on a portable. Just the perfect game to have on the go, I played it so much. But again, I mainly play the series to enjoy the controls, it might have sucked in other aspects… Always kept hope for a VITA GT. I definitely wouldn’t mind another portable GT if Sony ever released another portable.

Why wasn’t it there before?

Is the grazie Sport server down… again?

Half a game on release, have to be online to save any liveries or progress, including single player, even though you can play arcade and now the new 22Dec dlc or you get the relentless can’t connect to server message, with, again, no way of saving your progress, everything is reset as soon as you switch off, how is it legal to sell it as a 1player game if you can’t save your progress?

Enabled for VR emblazoned on the game’s front cover, which is very misleading also, all you get is a you v 1 AI car or a tour of your car, where’s the VR against your friends, online, or 19 Ai cars?

This has to be the poorest GT title to date?

What took you sooo long to release this Polyphony, busy spending all of our, the end users, hard earned cash who stupidly purchased GTSport expecting a great title?

Basic music settings, crappy elevator style Christmas music with the latest patch, limited tracks, where’s all the classics, and to top it all off, lots of gamers worldwide can’t log in to the servers...

Maybe you should change your name to Poly Phony because it seems to me like a phony GT title.

Did i mention as a day 1 buyer how annoying it is to see the game price slashed in the Sony PS Store, as if Sony, owners of GT, didn’t know this was going to take place only 3 weeks later.

All i can see is a beautiful looking game, duplicated gift car after duplicated gift car, maan, i’ve posted a number of Scape pictures with 3 of the same car in, you can’t cash them in, exchange them for mileage points, just DELETE them, pointless, you’d think it was simple enough for the code to know what cars you already had to avoid duplication, and oh… F all else!

Embarrassing!

Kazanuri, give your head a shake and sort the game out instead of releasing videos of you pretending to understand what Lewis Hamilton is saying as he has his first shot on the game, or should i say, promotes the T-GT wheel, which is well over priced, see Fanatec.com, oh, and his new Puma’s.

it’s ok nothing special be a lot better if the server worked so you could actually play the bloody thing

Feels like it was just an afterthought – funny that eh?

No trophy support or in game achievements either.

Who cares? Still not buying until it has FULL VR support, not some pathetic half-baked demo.

14.1

To be fair, most (if not all?) games for VR are half-baked tech demos, you can’t really except an extra in a non-VR game to be any better…

14.2

No idea what you’re on about. The multitude of VR games I own are full ones, not glorified demos.

14.3

Clearly, our opinion of (full) games greatly differs. :)

Yeah must admit I was seriously annoyed when I found out there’s no trophy support for the new single player element. Pointless.

That’s so cool. Finally…

17

Region check

18

I like the added content and look forward to even more :).

One problem though: when racing in GT league I can’t choose all the cars for races – the S-FR Racing concept for instance should be available (the opponent has it) in several races, while I can’t choose the car (I got it as gift at some point).

Also, when you win all the races in certain cup in could be shown on the league screen. -same goes for league list. (minor improvement I guess :))

Anyway, enjoying some new cars and new races… :)
