5 big new PlayStation Store releases you need to check out this week

Including Moss, Detention, Gravel and RiftStar Raiders

This week, PlayStation Store welcomes an unlikely hero. Become a part of Quill’s adventure in Moss, where a brave little mouse sets off on a mission to save her uncle. Assuming control of a helpful spirit, you can see Quill’s world in ways her size doesn’t permit, allowing you to guide her through the perilous quest.

Elsewhere, Detention is a dystopian side-scrolling horror inspired by the martial law of 1960s Taiwan, while Gravel is the ultimate off-road fest for motorsport fans, RiftStar Raiders invokes the golden age of Japanese arcade games in a fast paced co-op shoot ’em up, and De Blob 2 is ready to splash some colour on your TV screen in a shiny new remaster.

1. Moss VR

Quill is an adorable young mouse, small in size but big of heart. One day as she explores the woods, she stumbles upon a mysterious stone and inadvertently awakens an ancient magic — and with it, a distant evil. This is the start of her epic journey, but she won’t be alone. Accompany Quill on her quest and explore forgotten realms, solve challenging puzzles and battle menacing enemies.

2. Detention

Detention is a unique, atmospheric horror game set in 1960s Taiwan suffering under the shadow of dictatorship. You control a pair of teenage characters, Wei and Ray, in an ominous point and click side-scroller through a haunted school…

3. Gravel

With its accessible, fun driving mechanics, this quintessential arcade racer has you strapped into a faux TV programme aspiring to the best extreme-sports channel in the world. Race in action-packed single player and online arcade game modes and prove your strength against your competition. Buckle up, it’s showtime!

4. RiftStar Raiders

RiftStar Raiders is a 2.5D top-down, fast-paced blaster made by a passionate team at Climax Studios. Dive into an intense, trigger-happy experience that blends elements of modern multiplayer games and retro shoot ’em ups reminiscent of the Japanese arcade’s golden era.

5. De Blob 2

Paint the black and white world of Prisma City back to life in the sequel to the award-winning platform adventure, remastered and more colourful than ever. It’s up to Blob and his friends from the Color Underground to restore the city back to its former glory.

  • Why you should play it: With two-player split-screen co-op and multiplayer fun, splashing sad buildings with vibrant paint is the perfect mood boost for the Monday blues.
