Grand Theft Auto V was the best-selling game on PlayStation Store last month

Rockstar’s crime opus once more takes the top spot of the digital charts

Los Santos (and the surrounding Blaine County) was the hottest destination for PS4 players this past July, as Rockstar’s GTA V climbed back up the PlayStation Store charts to claim the top spot.

It may have been GTA Online’s spectacular After Hours update or the game’s inclusion in our massive Summer Sale that helped it rocket to the top of the charts; whatever the reason, Rockstar’s crime opus is proving unstoppable even four years after its PS4 debut.

meh… only fun i got out of it was the online mode. Didn’t care for single player at all (better than GTAIV though which was just depressingly dull).

Lol, it was like an epic Crime movie the single-player, not without flaws but still purest form of modern entertainment and satire.

Would be really nice to release some story expansion. You are drowning in money R* , common.

GTAV is brilliant, and though I understand a lot of people just recently have bought their PS4, I’m still surprised GTA is able to sell in numbers big enough to get them to the top of this chart. It has sold lots since its release, and it’s often on sale. I would imagine most people who wanted it already had it.

There are always plenty of people who haven’t played a game yet even one that has already sold as many copies as GTA V. Being on PS4 has also given it a massive sales boost and opened it up to a lot of people, who either didn’t own a last-gen console or have the PS4 as their first console. If GTA V was still only on last-gen consoles it probably would have dropped out of the charts years ago.
